Negotiation came up yesterday but I was remiss in bringing up any elements in that department. One person stated that if a fire was looming the word "relocate" was to be preferred over "vacate". I only brought up strategies on how to befriend the victims' pets as a way to get them to co-operate. But yes, negotiation skills are super important in assisting the person/people to link. Most time was spent on rapport building, calming, listening and non verbal cues.

Psychological First Aid Course is worth doing as an adjunct to your regular First Aid Course for those who are interested. Red Cross ran mine yesterday at the RFS.
