August, doing 6th at Winton on the way up....going to be a busy 4 days working flat knacker to get my car ready. But have to beback in India on 16th so only chance to give the ol girl a punt

Just before the British GP they talked about how RBR run a certain ignition system on the Renault engine that allows then engine to pump a similar amount of air over the blown diffuser on part and trailing throttle. This gives a consistant level of downforce and the driver confidence to push the thing to the limit. The Macs and others lacked this and is part of the reason why there blown diffusers arent working as well as RBRs. When Horner said its not just the blown diffuser, the car has been designed around it....this appears to be abig part of the whole equation.....lol or so i read

Need to do some new cooler piping for the new manifolds being isntalled on my car. Always said that next time i do cooler pipes i would use wiggins clamps on the sections that you cant easily reach, now its time to cough up and I am scared to spend that much money Have seen these advertised for a few years, but never heard if anyone has used them or can offer feedback http://hybrid-power.com/HDi%20CD/web/HDi%20clamp1.html

Noice, was a fan until i read you are planning an RB25 .......
-
I am off for the 8th...will you be ready?
-
You reckon....i would put money down on some desperate action up front, expecially if its dry. I expect if its wet they may take it a little easier and not punt each other out of the race... who knows. Hope its not wet, want to see hte fastest guy win tomorrow, not the fluke call of the race

In the space of a race weekend when word gets out of what RBRs quali secret was Ferrari have caught up with quali pace and typically both McLaren and Ferrari have superior race pace...will be interesting if what they are saying about the difference tyre performance is true, they are predicting two stops. RBR will have a tough run to the Abu Dabi from here... If the race weekend goes as i predict/hope : Alonso, Vettel, Webber, Massa, Button & Homo then the points will close up at the top. 153 _ Lewis Hamilton 143 _ Jenson Button (+10) 143 _ Mark Webber (+10) 139 _ Sebastian Vettel (+14) 123 _ Fernando Alonso (+30) 096 _ Nico Rosberg (+57) With Alonso upfront and Massa in the mix then the RBRs need to capitalise and take points from McLaren.

Makes sense, i followed Ferni at Sadownn and PI and on the straights we were very similar in speed, with Ferni having a bit more grunt then you and me a bit ore grunt then Russ. Yes, show footage. Feel my nipples, I am excited, 2 weeks and I will be back thrashing ol Silver
-
Did BBC show what happened to Webber. Seemed to have a problem or made a big mistake in the first sector. Very close between Alonso ad Vettel. Hopefully take each other out At least Webz has a second row start
-
RBRs were on the hards and Alonso on the softs. Well thats what i could gather,. ESPN never tell you and its sometimes hard to pick up on screen Great to see Williams in the top 10 and Rubens 6th! Interesting to see if RBR can lift the pace on the softs. At present Webz will be struggling to get on the front row....has not been able to turn the tyres on and seems to need the extra lap to get the time...
-
Webber jsut cant nail Sector 1 Seems Alonso and Vettel fgor front row. And tight for the next two rows. Top 6 look to be covered by as little as 0.5 sec Kobayashi driving out of his skin again!
-
Vettel and Alonso are a class apart at present. Has anyone got anything in reserve for Q2 & Q3. Cant see Webz being quick enough in the first sector, he has been a few tenths off Vettel all weekend. Biggest casual gap i have observed between the two all year
-
Well it looks as thought Ferrare have jumped the Macs for this race and Red Bull are still around the front two rows. One thing is traffic at that place is shocking. The final times for the session were a little mixed because cars kept hitting traffic, but the Fezz and RBR all seemed to get 6 or so laps out of their softs in the 1:16-1:15 range. Can't want for quali.....it looks like this track will be hard for overtaking but will be a close weekend

Winton is a track where i will give you a 1 second head start because of your power delivery. I hope that means i get a 1 second head start at places like Sandown and PI where you push past 200km/h and the extra power makes up for the extra lag I love how somebody is finally able to get out there and prove what i couldn't. Basic turbo upgrade, new decent shocks and tyres and away you go, a lil GTSt can keep pace with the GTRs :P
-
hehehe, been getting sms updates. GTSt RB20DET POWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keeping some of the serious built cars honest and kind of handing out a hammering to the rest of us rwd boys Well done Russ!

Hey, piss off! Chokehold is a bit of a fav of mine. He is on ESPN Star Sport a lot and he is a great guy, real car geek...and this hack of a bloke next to him who is "my nephew is so shit he needs me to start pumping his tyres full of hot air 10 years before he is even close to an F1 drive" He has gone ok this year...all up I think he is done more then Di Gassi and Bullseye Senna

What are you askign me for? I need to see if my inley will botl up to the NEO head, if so i will use R34 GTT cams, (possibly looking at HKS V-Cam cams pr cutoms) otherwise will jus go Tomei 260/10.25 cams. I belive these drop in and work with the std valves, only thing is the high lify cams may need relieving against the std head. But wont know until its all done...i am thinking Bullet in SA will be the go for the headwork, but just so hard to trust someone...everyone is an expoert and offers different porting advice. -
Is that Senna-esque wet driving?
-
Fezz are looking strong, even Massa is there abouts
-
Well, i will try ringing Melbourne Autobarn on the weekend . I tried the Gizzmo online store but they didnt seem to list them in their shop. High Octane online shop is down...i may try modyourcar...just dont want to pay for it and it take 3 weeks to get to me, by which time i will be back out of the country

If you are serious then i think we can come up with something regarding the second set of solid lifters that i have. The cams that come with them are mysetery Tomeis. I am hoping they are 260/10.25, but all i know is that they are 10.25mm lift....no idea of duration. If the duration is too big for the lil 20 then i will be getting rid of them. All your id you are interested. Looking at the pictures I am expecting they will need a linish as they look to have been left in the open and have some evidence of surface rust...thogh hard to tell in poor quality pics. I alslo have some RB26 titanium retainers, have no idea if they work with the RB20 valve and springs. If you find the RB25DE springs are the same as the RB20DET, then they are also the same as VG30DETT and you can get sets of those real cheap out of the US -
Road Trip? Will be seeing if Wakefield has a day on the following week so that after catchig up with family, the drive back to Melb for DECA wont be so boring Would trade it all for a 1.1 sec improvement at Sandown for a 1:21
-
Well as gutted as i am that in my trip back i dont get a run at the 1:21 i want, will have to be happy with Winton on the 6th and Eastern Creek on the 8th
