  1. But getting back to the original topic....I think if you can hunt down some well priced R33 GTR Brembos then they are a good option for about $1200 or less. I would go as far as saying hold off on buying brakes until you find a set at the right price. Since you have an R33, which already uses a 296mm rotor, the thing will be ok with the right pads and some brake deflectors off the GTR installed from the front bar and on the castor rods. In Vic you have tracks like Sandown and Calder which are between 65-85 secon laps with some BIG stops. I found NSW tracks were kinder on brakes, not sure how QLD tracks rate.
  2. On my car the 3000s were noisy (cool because on the street i thought it sounded "Tough" ) and I just didnt like how the car stopped with them. The pedal on my car felt like a wooden plank. I only used the one set and never tried them again. So unless there was something strange about that particular set of pads (I doubt it) then i cant see why they are worth the high asking price. But plenty of people seem to be happy with them so?!?!?!? I am going to send you a present ad you can tell me if you still like those crummy EYEtalian pads DJ, you still on the same email?
  3. So i will be around from 01 August to 15 August. Anyone have a summary of other car clubs that are running days in this time? I am most likely going to do the Winton Test and Tune on the 6th August and if i can find a day at Wakefield around that time will run up there for a few laps to
  4. How much? The 2500s are rubbish, the 3000s are rubbish. You can get the 2500s for US$210 delivered. The DS3000s were almost double that If i need pads i always buy them from Japan or the US. Locally they are a flaming rip off (as good 'ol Alf would say) I am curious to hear what people think of Performance Friction PFC97s. You can get them for about US$300 delivered (F40/50, so Nissan OE Brembo will be cheaper) Cheaper then the the DS3000s, i thought they were a great pad, but i have not put a whole lot of kms on them to know what the wear is like. But by all reports they were very well, have low rotor wear to boot. But i have driven on them and i like them. So, curious to hear some other people trying them out. I will try some PF Carbon Metallic Z-Rated next time round, as I am hoping with the 343mm rotor and lil GTSt i can get away with a good street performance pad.
  5. They have two, inside and outside. I think the old K-Sport, G4 or ATTKD calipers look to be a better thing over the new K-Sport. The big open bridge does little to make me think when hot and the driver is standing on them they dont bend like a cheap hooker. Admittedly that statement is based 100% on looks and no experience, so its dangerous advice You can see the old calipers had to the twin bridge bolts (8 pot fronts) Where as the new calipers only have a single bolt and far more open bridge design (12 pot fronts) The pads for the GTR Brembos are mostly cheaper then the 8/12 pot China calipers as well
  6. I am pretty sure Mick/Tims car runs a spacer to accomodate 324mm rotors. They also run tyres which dont have a lot of grip which means you tend to lock the wheel before putting uber heat into the braking system. So many different options, i sugges you go shopping with your eyes open and buy whatever represents good value to you at the time. Hell, if you are keen to try some Endless knock offs then i have a brand new KTS kit that uses 330mm rotor that you can have for $1500. I bought it as it was an ex display kit and cheap. I was curious to see how good the Endless knock off 6 pot caliper is. It looks reasonable and the equiv to the Ksport/G4 kits etc, though arguably better as they are ripping off a known good design of caliper. If you can pick up a used set of R33 Brembos with good rotors and pads for $1200 or so then they are a good upgrade. If you are paying $1600 and the rotors are original and shagged and the pads cheap Bendix then they are not so great value. So, just keep an eye out for what appears to be the best value...dont rule out just buying a good 324mm rotor and bracketing your rotor out, though i do not prefer this approach when using the R33 caliper, the brackets are not as sturdy as when you use the R32 caliper
  7. Perfectly fine working condition. Replaced them with N1 headlights and no longer have anywhere to store spare car parts so need them gone. Asking $350 the pair
  8. Well Mark weighs more then Seb so the team have said several times that they setup their cars in a similar way, have similar driving styles, but Mark is heavier and taller and that poses design problems. I think all the cars are underweight by quite a margin, but on Marks car they dont get to ballast it up as much as they like
  9. Good to see the bus is running reliably. Hopefully you can get in there and get sme good results!
  10. All good for now. I have the R34 seats for the time being. Will sell the Momos off as no good sitting in storage when i wont be using them. Will flog off my Momo wheel with them as it matches them. Will get an OMP suede when i am hunting for a new wheel
  11. hehe, just as all hope is lost i get an email saying my start date would be on 1 September in Brussels. I may make Spa yet Just need to agree on terms of the contract. People complain about owning a modified car here in Aus. Has anyone ever looked at registration /car ownership costs n Belgium. Talk about anti performance car....they tax you through the ass on anything over 120hp
  12. What seat are you running? Any other pictures? I have a pair of matching MOmo seats that I am now having to sell as one of them has a damaged lower left corner from where a friend installed it in his car and it was rubbing on where he mounted his harness eyelet. So the drivers seat probably is only good for a playstation setup but the passenger seat is still good. Sux because the damaged seat is Jason Brights old HRT seat, its even signed by him
  13. Depeds which series and which year tou are looking at. There are GT3 Vettes as well, and they are doing really well in that series too. Perhaps the Vette is actually a pretty good car if its winning in GT3. Audi, Lambo, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin all of them being beaten by the Vette in GT3 trim http://gt3europe.com/results.php?event=50&...pe=Entry%20List
  14. You my friend have no soul! :)The only thing as cool as the Vette at Spa last year was the R8 Audi...but he Vette flogged them! Fancy a Vette, the low tech car built by the backward Yanks would again beat Maserati and Nissan...shoudl beat the Porchses, Astons etc in GT2 I will add its been fun watching the GTR getting beaten by the Vette, the Ford GT and how old is the Maserati MC12 etc. Seems a 5.6L V8 isnt enough for the big Nissan
  15. The EVO calipers only take a 320mm rotor and the pistons are much bigger then the GTR Brembo meaning you will be heavily front biased
  16. Porsche driver was being a cock smoker. Sur he was punted in the braking area...but in a straight line you can only move over so mcuh and when the guy is past moving over more is just going ot have that result
  17. You have to be kidding...gayest sneaker on the market...surely. And Kimi is gone from F1. It will be an even ore pathetic comeback then Schuey who is 10x as motivated as Kimi woudl ever be.
  18. Will be interesting to see the result. Are you going to get Paul to have a go at the head? Did you ever modify the combustion chamber to suit the larger bore?
  19. If i bought it , all that would mean is it sits in a garage, having parts bought for it that never get installed and i talk sh1t on the interwebs about anotherR32 that i own! I really, really, really hope you find a way to keep this car!
  20. I am intimidated, Tim is louder and more talented and by all reports plays up harder then me....Russ is quicker...I am not sure where i fit in anymore Doesn't matter though...I bet i still spend/lose the most cash, credit cards and dignity
  21. Lets see if the ol Rb20 and this tired old unit can still get their act together for stooopidity in Shep. Its going to take a lot of courage to keep up with the new breed of lunatic bred in SAU Boot Camps
  22. Huh...kids these days. Who needs accom when you have rippers and park benches. 50 squidd is better spent at the bar!
  23. How does the PWR cooler go for fitment? Does it fit? If so would love the part number as I am after one, but have heard/read some horror stories about PWR getting stuff wrong all the time...not the thing i can handle when arranging this stuff from OS
  24. Sometimes, i have bought two sets...as they come up sometimes realy cheap. I paid very litle for new Tomei 2.4L pistons, springs and solid lifters. The second set of RB20 solid Tomei lifters i got with my cheap ass Tomei cams. Nobody wants or can get good money for RB20 gear so can get the stuff cheap
