Counts for nothing in my eyes. Half the supercars out there are powered by old Merc V12s, Mustange V8s etc with forced induction. BMW couldnt build an F1 engine that was as good as the Merc, Ferrari or even Renault. Wasnt as reliable as the Toyota etc etc so worlds apart building a limited build V8 and an F1 engine

What sort ofd dollars for 235/40/17? I fell off my chair when i found out what the RE55s now cost. I thought they were exxy last time i bought them at $330 a corner

They were looking at buyign BMWs engine program late last year. Dont know what the outcome was

Actually, thas a good poit. Engine manufacturers. We have Renault, Mercedes, Ferrari and Cosworth. Hadnt stopped to consider we only have four. There was a time where along with Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Cosworth we had Honda, Toyota, Peugot, Mugen, BMW. There are others but, they are the ones who have been around the most since the 90s

Rb20 Cams.... Any Power Gains With Lightly Modified Engine?
Roy replied to chalky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What benefit? The two 2503 powered RB20s with Poncams drive like a RB20 with std cams. There isnt a tangible improvement in my eyes. Could be wrong though. They both make power where you expect, they both make about 220odd rwkws. They both have boost drop off at high revs. I think it comes down to the fact that eveb though the engine is happy enough to breath with std or aftermarket cams, with the lil 2530 and other 320-350hp turbos they simply have too mcuh back pressure in the exhaust housings and choke the engine up. I had a friend with an R33 with Greddy plenum, HKS cams and a 2530. It made 230rwkws and came on like there was no tomorrow. but i dont think the cams did anything for it either until he got the 3040, T66 and other setups on it -
Rb20 Cams.... Any Power Gains With Lightly Modified Engine?
Roy replied to chalky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeh i know two people in Melb with 2530s and Poncams and they dont feel that different to an RB20 with a 2530. Sound better but thats about it I cant remember the settings other then retard the hell out of the exchaust cam (from memory about 4 deg) -
He wants to have little shortcuts accross corners that drivers get to use a certain amount of times per race. If they are being held up then they just fly on through...Its BS. Then you wont see any passing. Just guys running up the side road...farking Bernie., will some pretty young thing hurry up and feed Bernie too much viagra and give the bastard a heart attack. How can so called intelligent people who have been around motorsport all their lives be so farking stoopid and out of touch. Where is Kim Jong Il when i need him "Why are people so farking stooopid!, why arent they intelligent like me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVL6ZJoWGxw

See Bernie is back pushing his "short-cut" idea to spice up the racing and help overtaking. FFS these muppets have no idea. WHy not cal it Super Mario racing, or maybe introduce a wrecking ball that swings accross the track every now and then... And these farking idiots have made a fortune out of F1

Rb20 Cams.... Any Power Gains With Lightly Modified Engine?
Roy replied to chalky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Things is i made 260rwkws with std cams, installed 260/8.8mm cams and lost response and 10rwkws, even with tweaking the cam gears and tune for about 75 dyno pulls. Could not get it back, too much bak pressure from the tiny 8cm housing i run -
Rb20 Cams.... Any Power Gains With Lightly Modified Engine?
Roy replied to chalky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cams on std engines with little turbos with small A/R hotsides dont seem to like cams. Now a built RB20 with a big 0.86 A/R 500hp turbo....cams may help....nobody can reliably tell me which is making me nervous about building up an RB20, nobody can give you a tried and proven recipe -
Its killing me having to work overseas at present. Its been so long since i have done a track day in my car. Need to get back and start pumping up the weekends away like the early years, problem is most people have kids now and cant get leave passes for the weekends

But to me the tension to see the lap times drop as drivers went a few laps longer tryign to jump spots then defend on cold tyres on a heavier / different fuel load was still great viewing. It wasnt quite Button at Brazil every round, but the races were at least interesting watching the strategies work or...or not. Button on 2 stops vs Rubens on 3, ditto Webber v Vettel on different stops etc etc

Well this comes back to the scratched record posts i come up with every time I am at the end of a contract... If i can bump up the dollars to allow for the presently shitty exchange rate of the pound I may be off to Cambridge UK. So looking at a shopping trolley that i can belt around...the GTiR fits the bill, especially when you can have this for less then AUD5,500. Buying something like this only works out tad more expensive then exporting my car and doesnt have the worry about getting it back home if i am only there for 6-12 months There was a nice condition R32 GTSt for sale a few months ago but timing was bad. I like the hatch convenience and the fact that there does seem to be a few well maintained ones running around the UK for cheap. Right now i am going completely stir crazy working in Asia. No cars, or accessible race tracks unless your Dad/Uncle own a mine or some palm oil plantation Plus its too damn hot...missed out on so many opportunities because I dont have an EU visa Shits me, i have been trying to get to the UK now for 6 years, and all the work is going to Asia which is death for car enthusiasts

Somebody just buy me a new one with 3 screwie things which bolts to the wall thingie in the engine bay. Its the only thing left in my braking system that could probably do with replacing. Oh, since the new Alcons i have only accept a 378x36mm thick rotor which is too big for my needs i now have some new Brembos.... so many brake calipers...only one car LOL, will have to buy a gutted race GTR one day and make it a twelve wheeler so i can use all the brake setups i have laying around

Man, there is no need for another review of the regulations. How cheap would it be to simply re-introduce re-fuelling and rather then Kers which only a few cars have, give them an extra 3,000rpm to use for 12-16 seconds per race in intervals of no more then 3 seconds per lap. The extra revs bag them a bit more power and top speed down the straights so that when they are 2 seconds quicker then the car they are following there is at least the opportunity to pass and clear on out

R34 Gtr Rim Options, 9.5 +12 Or 10.5 +15?
Roy replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
XD9s are for grifters, Leewah had the gentlemen racers wheel. Like i said, if you are not cool enough to know what they are then you are not cool enough to own them... -
Has me wondering if its worthwhile jumping accross the drink and going to Malaysian and Chinese GPs ????!?!?!?!? Will have to see what happens with Albert Park i guess. Though Malaysian GP is usually pretty good as there are some good spots for overtaking and weather is a good variable. Plus the weekend on the drink in Malaysia is normally good fun

R34 Gtr Rim Options, 9.5 +12 Or 10.5 +15?
Roy replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
No you dont want Leewahs rims, and if you dont know what they are then you are not cool enough to have them Hell , even Leewah was not cool enough for those wheels -
LOL, that didnt take long... http://www.planetf1.com/news/18227/6028855...een-Jense-Lewis

Pressure transducer into a data logger, you get wheel speeds, engine rpms, point of the track. Hell you can tag G seonsors as well

1994 Bnr32
Roy replied to olloSKYLINEollo's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Very few dealers honour warranty. Its forced on them by Fair Trading and only for 3 months. The thing with the old turbos are if they fail they can put ceramic through the engine killing it on the way out. Most other old turbos that fail jsut fill your exhaust and intercooler with oil as they are steel wheels. You would be amazed with how much a std car can put up with if its been maintained well. If its std i suspect the car has been neglected and jsut driven. No R32 shoudl have std rotors, bushes, shocks, air filters, fuel pump , even the std exhaust and baffles would be corroded etc. You are doing the right thing by buying a qulaity car, and also hunt around these forums or the QLD SAU club. Buyign off an enthusiast who is buyign a house, buying a newer car, having his 16th kid is often a better bet then buying off a dealer. At least within two minutes of seeign the persons house, the family and the car you get a feel for the person and how he has treated the car....not like from a faceles dealer -
Street/track Suspension Setup For R32 Gtr
Roy replied to Chris32R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Expect to have to go through and replace a number of bushes, Whiteline are good for bushes and adjustable swaybars. As for shocks and springs, its really a matter of budget. In my eyes you can do a lot worse then a set of Tein Monoflex or Super Streets or a set of Bilsteins from Heasemans or another Bilstein distributor. In all honesty, including labour, Cusco castor rods, shocks etc you will be looking at just under $5,000 -
The easy fix is get the expensive velcro strips and line your door rubbers and the frame of the window

I didnt even go to work today, i got 100mtrs down the road and was a pool of sweat jsut so came home and watching replays of Top Gear, Wheeler Dealer and F1. If only i could import the R32 to Singapore the car may have had some work done on it today
