  1. Racing?
  2. So with Lotus back in the sport, how long until Williams are out??? Old Rubens no doubt will be working hard for them, Hulk isnt a Vettel - Hamo by the looks of it. They are usign lowly Cosworth engines, they are probably operating on a lower budget then STR and based on Rd 1, usually when Williams are at the strongest coming off a fruitful off season, they were racing STR and Force India. They are now behind the big 4, add to that Renault, Force India and perhaps even Sauber and how long can they hold on with no results and no big sponsors to pay for the technical recruitment they need. Sam Michaels, well he can some work on my R32
  3. lol, repeat on ESPN sport now. Anything beats doing work
  4. I would have laid down more smoke into Turn 1 then Webber, thats for sure But it is pretty shithouse to see F1 cars lumbering along so far off their real pace. Gone are the days of almost doing quali laps as you come up to your stop....the cars are always wounded with fuel load or tyre wear
  5. Massa did have car problems though. But was impressive to watch Alonso clear out. I was impressed by Massa first race back. I suspect it will be a 3 way shootout for the championship, what will be real interesting is the new points system. Webebr has a chance of another top 4 finish in the WDC simply because he should have the car speed to win a few GPs this year and whoever wins will bag a shit load of points
  6. But my loyalty to Webber cost me How sad was it to see the worlds fastest cars running around between 4-10 seconds a lap slower then their quali pace. I loved how in teh closing laps Webber backed it off then went over two seconds quicker then Button for a lap or two..just to say, look what this car could do in free air. The no refuelling has dumbed down strategy which has been one of the ingredients for good racing the past few years As for improving the racing, its rather easy. Let them keep their gearboxes etc, just give them steel brakes which means more mass the suspension has to control, less road grip, longer braking distances...for a start. Re-introduce re-fuelling and allow teams and extra 3,000rpm for 12 seconds per race, with a max of 3 seconds per lap. You dont need KERS, just let them use the revs they were using 3 years ago
  7. New project...have you gone homo with a GTR?
  8. The racing in the Grp A days was not always that great, but the cross section of cars was cool
  9. If Button didnt punt F1 cars and all the perks that come with it....would he get to be doing horrible things to this...
  10. If you are running it at the track then i can understand the reason for 10.5s as they do fit the 265 semi a lot better. Are you keeping the GTT or flogging it off..i still hate you
  11. Nothing wrong with what you have .. I hate you...that is all
  12. SHIT RACE, throw away your tape recorders as we will be using this statement a lot this year
  13. What a shit race, shame the FIA for taking away re-fuelling. Cars that are 2-4 seconds per lap quicker and stuck back in the lower positions This year is going to be shit compared to some of the blinders we had in years past
  14. A friend Tomg bought them, though i dont know if he runs them a whole lot as i thin he likes his Enkeo Tarmacs better, perhaps give him a pm
  15. R32 certainly are good all rounders, the usual caveat of be prepared to be spending a good deal of money on it. Either keep near stock boost in it or get steel wheel turbos on it. Make sure the transfer case isnt shagged, once you get some speed together and perjaps start running good tyres be prepared to fork over serious money for brakes. But, if you are going to keep it near std and just well maintained then it will be a hoot, but for me the fun and far cheaper GTSt makes for an equally fun package, only far cheaper to run and maintain
  16. $25,000 for a std R32 GTR? I am all for borrowing money for a car you love, but thats a lot of money for a std car. Sicne you are a panel beater, would you not be best buying a neat example with some mods but ordinary paint/body...and giving it a clean up in your own time. Personally, R32 prices are so that there is no way i would be paying that much money for a std car. Looking at Carsales there are neat GTRs that have been for sale for months, the market is a buyers dream at present
  17. Cool, I see you have parted out your car. Its a real shame, it was the hope of the rwd crew that once sorted it would have taken it to the GTRs and other quick cars out there.
  18. So he new owner of the 31 is the current owner of the Sizzler car....which are for sale ????
  19. What was attendance like? Seems only a few SAU-Vic guys attended, seems a shame
  20. What is afforadle to some ... My mate has a flash Sony camera, he used it for when he was doign contract work for Vodafone and was broadcasting fron the T888 pits on race weekends. ITs a good thing, but about 3k from memory. He used to tell me that you need a certain prefix, which effectively means broadcast quality
  21. Never shit on a persons genuine efforts. If it bags them a win then awesome for them. But there are plenty of talented, intelligent and hard working people spannering ...err V8s crammed into crappy MGBs who i resepct out of this world... I respect the effort as well as the achievement Talking down the mods and it being a street car on std tyres etc ??? To me that takes away from your achievements. Something makes it several seconds quicker then std and thats what you deserve credit for. Otherwise what you are telling us is that you are taking a std car to a track day and wiping the floor, thats an achievement for Nissan engineers not the owner or mecahnic on this particular car. There is no achievement if its all too easy .... which it isnt, it cant be. Doing those lap times is impresive stuff for a whole bunch of reasons PS, not saying you were shitting or dismissing anyones efforts, i am just hung over (slowly getting better as i am back on teh bottle) waiting for the F1 to kick off
  22. Bugger, i cracked a rotor at Calder too. Matt, what was your best at Calder? I am pretty sure between Ryan and a few others that none of mine or your times stand ay any track aymore At Calder i think my best was a 1:06.4, LOL with a cracked rotor, crabbing on the road anda hot day with a pinging engine with flat spotted tyres from Dutton :) It was my last track day in the 32 and the reason why i stopped tracking it until i had time to go through the car and do a refurb on much of the suspension, fuel system and brakes at an expesnse its take me a few years to afford. But fark help you all when she gets back out there
  23. ban on refuelling = SHIT!!! Say hello to race wins of 50sec +
  24. At the top of the page their is an icon My Album....go through and upload your pics to SAU. Then just copy the following ... Replace the * with the address of the photo and you are away...keen to see pics
  25. Curious to know how they drive. My impression is they are pretty understeery and have average gearboxes. But they are no doubt pretty quick, hatchback convenience and am curious to hear from people that haev owned and tracked them. Not looking for the ultiate track car, but whether with some swayabr and shocks they can be pretty lively to punt around the track without oil control and cooling problems ??
