  1. Whilst the sphincter of the universe is going to become a Superpower? We are in for some tough times when China stops buying our dirt and we need an industry other then real estate to run to.. but that all seems a bit extreme doesnt it? Everything seems pretty all or nothing with you...maybe you need a night over here in Singapore with me at the Four Floors? Just to take the edge off and see the fun side of chaos
  2. So you are moving to the sphincter of the universe then, because i recall you saying it is part of Europe or something and i have read your pining for the place? Meh, different places hold different appeals for different people at different times in their lives. Doesnt make any one place any better or any worse as a whole...just for individuals. I do believe some media outlets are losing their journalistic integrity and some politicians should have never been given control of the office photocopier. But to say Australia is going down the drain? The last 8 years i have been in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Jakarta, Bandung, Hyderabad, Singapore and Oxford and London for reasonable periods of time. Holidayed and briefly worked in Malaysia, Germany, Ireland, Belgium and Austria....all are cool places but i still want to move back to Australia when i can. But right now any of these places are good for a brief stint, and whilst there are places i want to live and work...i have seen enough to know Australia is where its at. Thats not to say it doesnt have its own problems, but...meh.
  3. Bugger, but still a good starting spot, He made a mistake in Sector 2 again and was the quickest in the 1st and 3rd sectors. SO jsut couldnt get the quali lap together where Vettel simply can
  4. Ok, one last hit out. If Webz gets it right then he shoudl be on the front row!
  5. God damn, Webber quicker all session. Then on his last lap he stuffs at sector 2 and Vettel beats him. Lets see how Q3 goes. Webber on his final lap was quickes in 1st and 3rd sector but he lost 0.2 in the one sector over his previous best. But RBR looking goos
  6. Could help if you posted some pictures, general details such as kms, shocks and turbos/power that it is running. Is it a built bottom end or just a heavily worked head on a std bottom end which comes with the usual cast N1 internals? Sounds like a great car, should sell quickly at that price
  7. Because the whole legislation is a joke. So if i pull a skid in a Thirfy ute what happens? Can the police really seize the vehicle?
  8. Well he looked like a bloke on the job in that session. Lets see how he goes in Quali!
  9. Listening to the BBC coverage of practice and they are laughing about saying. Strange that drivers do it all over the world for fans and its appluaded. Here, they seem to think its OHS craziness?!?!?!?! I have already made my thoughts clear, and seeing that the Vic Police are now saying they are stoked to bag such a high profile person in their campaign
  10. Come on folks...pics !
  11. Awesome! Thanks for posting, and thanks for being just that little bit crazy and bringing this thing back to the track Hope to make it a day and see it running
  12. THATS IS SO FARKED! Well done Victoria And who is the muppet with the camera, sees something like that and thinks, hey could be a buck in this, lets brake out the camera

    Deca Wrap Up Thread

What a great day in the history of the automobile ! Shitty Teins which are not as good as Bilsteins blah, blah, blah, lowly std RB20 with about 1.5bar up it, lowly rwd and no ass tickling, homo controlled awd system...well done Russ, finally someone with some talent rather then space cadets who are NASA rejects wins at DECA !
  15. Barbarian, you do seem awfully down on Aus and all things Victoria. Why wait a decade if you dont like the place? That said i hear where you are coming from. HE BROKE THE LAW! Come on guys...pull our heads out of our asses and look at whats going on. He broke a law, not the Law! Big difference. There is not one single law, there is an increasing trend for a whole bunch of laws which irritate me. Talk to experienced Police and many laugh at talk that they need more powers. They have all the power they need and all the laws they need. They need courts and magistrates to start doing their jobs. They need governments to remove all the guff that officers need to do and create a new entity to do all the time consuming and pointless crap which is required because the govt needs revenue from their grifting laws, often passed to try and collect votes. Not because of a real law and order plan. So, FARK OFF that a a World Champion F1 driver, visiting our country, leaving a venue, performing a skid should have been treated like this. Officer's discression should have had him pulled over, tell him to keep it in his pants and what he could do and tell him there are better ways and things to be enjoying Melbourne while he is here. Towing his car and impounding it....come on. Lewis, if he has any balls when asked about this over the next few days should go on the offensive. "sure, i shouldnt have done it, but seems down there in Victoria its almost a police state for road users...and i dont understand what he was telling me about being a hoon and how this anti hoon policy improves driver education and safety" . ...anyway.... i hope Webz gets out there in a Thrifty Camry, rips the handbrakes and fries the front wheels all the way down St Kilda road tram tracks after winning this weekends race <edit> This is not a dig at Police, but the crazy laws that they find themselves having to enforce. If an officer is caught using cocaine he is cactus and in serious trouble. If he gets caught doing a skid should his job be in the same jeopardy? HELL NO! Yeh, I have a whole bunch of thoughts on this topic
  16. I was mostly referring to the ebay link. A few things... If they are not telling you the caliper number or what model the Brembo rotor is for/off then its a bit of a gamble. The more typical Brembo rotor sizes are 324 or 332mm. I am sure they make 330 but would need to check what model car it is off and find out if its a 28, 30 or 32mm thick rotor, curved vane? Ditto what others have said you would want to make sure that the pistons sizes are correct for your car. Based on the price I would be assuming (another thing to check) is that the pistons sizes are the same, so you dont get the advantages / trend to go smaller on the leading piston for better pad wear and less rotor hot spots. So thats the compilation of components questions, no doubt great value, and could be a good performing kit....but its a leap of faith without the answers. The reason for my stay away comment, is Wilwood make calipers for many applications. Thats why they are great and so popular. But, that model of caliper is about the cheapest 4 piston caliper they make. These 4 pots are 30-50% of the price of the 4 pot caliper that you would generally be wanting in your kit. Effectively they are no different better then the std Nissan 4 pot caliper. You are basically changing calipers which is costing you money and limiting the range of pads you can run for no benefit The Arizona Z kit is a much better bet. They run the nicer Billet range of Wilwood caliper (6 pot or 4 pot , makes no difference to me they are both nice calipers) They run a chunky, probably Nascar based rotor with curved vane and greater width then you get in majority of kids. So a much better kit, but still be concerned about the custom hat and the hardware they use to mount the hat and rotor. How do they stack up with some kms on them? Do they get noisy, slack and bang up the hats with some kms??? Its not a method i have seen before?!?!? They did still mount the rotor backwars in the mock up pics So, as Ryno said, its only my opinion...and could be wrong. But the above is the thinking behind my comments, If Ryno can confirm he has put lots of kms on his setup and the hats have not become noisy or damaged at time of rotor replacement then they are great value. I still dont get why the Arizona kit spec it all together the way they have and go lug mount instead of radial...radial is better for so many reasons
  17. Ahh, Motoconcept Days

  19. Thats the pits. Lets see him take it to court and say there was nothing dangerous about what he was doing,, he is a World Champion doing a 30km/h skid ffs
  20. Thats the pits. Lets see him take it to court and say there was nothing dangerous about what he was doing,, he is a World Champion doing a 30km/h skid ffs
  21. i think he will struggle even more. Lack of seat time in a current spec F1 car. Has he really done any wet running on top of that?
  22. Thats a great pic, and an interesting pic. Amazed the thing isnt using its rear brakes at all
  23. If the Melb weather hits i will dead set put money on Webz (genuinely) Him and Vettel are equally quick in the wet and the RBR has alwas been a good thing in the wet. The reason i will back Mark is the one area he shines is in the changing conditions. If its dry and gettign wet he is always the quickext, and always has been....and i think back to when he blitzed the field at PI in a FF all those years ago. When everyone knows the grip level and its just light rain he is good. Trust me, if mid quali or race it start drizzling and people are left scratching their heads re just how much grip is there...he will shine
  24. Why didnt you post this a few weeks ago...i was looking at a carbon one that weight 2kgs or something, but since my car has just been sprayed and re-assembled i didnt want to go messing with all the perfect fit and panel gaps
  25. LOL, last weekend would have taking a lot of string pulling for both of us...but Targa High Country, just look at India as the driving force for me losing my will to live and in part losing my fear of death....plus all those drunk'n tuk-tuk rides means i am far better prepared for sitting in the silly seat
