  1. Looks like lots of the cars that have had rolled and flared guards to make way for larger rims still stick skinny little tyres on them? I am looking to do it in a quest to get 235/40/17s comfortably on the front and 255/40/17s on the back. Catch is they are semi slick sizes so more like 245 and 265 street tyres
  2. Kubica and Kimi pulled up just fine. They were side by side , the reason they were side by side was that with the red light at the exit it was going to be a drag race down the exit. They didnt lock brakes, and if you look at the replays they were pulling up around 1mtr short. They say the light no problem and this was whilst wheel to wheel with another car. A lot more going on them Hamilton!
  3. FARK!!! What chance is Hamilton have of pulling his head out his ass when Snr Management are in the same padded cell? Whitmarsh in response to the 10 place penalty and what it means to them in France .... "In this instance, we'll take the loss of a likely win and the 10-place grid penalty squarely on the chin." What? A likely win? So the Ferraris, BMWs are no chance? Despite the fact that Ferrari has won more races, and BMW have now won half as many as McLaren, hell they have also had more podiums. Looking back over previous seasons they have sucked around the Magny Cours with Ferrari and Renault dominating, hell Williams and Ralf have won more recently then Mclaren at this place. HOW THE FARK CAN HE SAY LIKELY WIN? I hated McLaren through the 90s, with Kimi and DC this decade i got over it. (ALways loved DC though) Now i am starting to despide the way they go about racing. From ... http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news...609161948.shtml Actually, just read the full interview to see what other drugs he is on and it is possible he is referring to a likely win in Canada, but its not clear?!?!?!?!
  4. But may be what i need as i can beef it up where i think it needs strength and cutting for my IC and undertray. OK< how do i arrange collection Funkster?
  5. I want to buy a cf drive/prop shaft for my car from the current group buy, Only my car is an R32 GTSt which will be running a R33 gearbox and normal rear end. I figure since i need to mod the prop shaft i may as well get a new one. So does anyone know from their RB25 gearbox conversion whether the shaft length is any different? Shorter, longer? Or is it just different connections?
  6. I never had a catch can on my original RB20. Though i did remove the cooler pipes and IC on two occassions to see how much grime/oil film had built up on them. So including the original IC install, the subsequent removals were a waste of time as they were always clean . The current RB20, which was a replacement from a slipped timing belt after a cam gear install has always had a catch can, so thats 4 years. I think it has more to do with the location of the RB20 breather hoses in the rocker covers then anything else. This motor has never done below 14psi and 215rwkws, has spent a lot of time at 18-19psi and 230-260rwkws odd. Has done something like 25,000-30,000kms as well.
  7. Thats why you need a Mk I Escort, 2L Pinto power in 750kg shell. They change direction real well!
  8. You little ripper. HUGE HELP!!! Thanks Have you dont anything on the front? What rim, rubber and offsets are your Buddy CLubs/Racing Hart? LOL, sorry about all the questions
  9. I cant recall though, is it a good looking or an obvious GTR knock off with wrong angles etc. I remember it had a hit at the lower edge
  10. His accident is worse, he was following, he came along later, he had mroe time, yet he hit a car that had already hit a car in pit lane. He deserves to be reamed more then Hamilton! When watching Webber nehind Nakajima, i had horrible flashbacks to 2005 when the Williams could never get past the slow Trulli/Toyota. Mark is hopeless in traffic. There is hope for him, Massa has turned the corner this year on that front, hopefully Mark can go back to his Jaguar and early Williams days where he had a go. I think he is all too worried about throwing away a race trying to overtake, and is simply too patient. Especiallu with his 2 stop strategy, he needed to clear Nakajima dn Rubens
  11. Well compare the bridge of the 6 pot Alcon With the bridge of the 6 pot AP Then the 6 pot Brembo (So many variations of them, but typically they are like this) As you can see imagine the caliper when its nice and hot with high pedal pressure trying to force the piston and pads to squeeze the rotor. You can imagine that the caliper wants to baloon out under the load. The AP, Alcon all have more robust bridges with either big bolts or bolted sections between the sides of the calipers. Looking at the Brembos you can see they have less meat through their centres and accross the bridge. So compare that to the old 4pot Brembo F50s You can see they are a more compact caliper and have bolts through the caliper halves ensuring rigidity. The 4 pot has an open bridge design but as the caliper is smaller i do not think its as critical on a smaller 4 pot caliper. So of course the Brembos are designed to be more open accross the tops of the pads and have meat and mettalurgy on their side to counter this. Its just that i like to see meat in the caliper, in a street caliper then extra 300grams isnt going to kill anyone, unlike a race car where they want as light as possible and do not mind so much if they have to life the caliper more often because it is no longer as rigid. Which is another aspect of monbloc vs 2 pce calipers. Calipers with bolted sections are going to be better over a long hard life of heavy use. Anecdotally only have to look at how often Carrera Cup guys change out their calipers BUT, truth be told, grab whatever you can get a good price on. Its a matter of bee's dicks and what makes you feel all warm and goey on the inside. I personally would take the Alcons every time, but when dollars are factored into it i think the F50 is the way to go
  12. What size and brand of wheel you running? Personally if i was going to run a Brembo caliper i would stick with the F50 range of calipers over their monobloc 6 pot calipers
  13. It is an RB20, my catch can was a waste of money. On the street i plumb it back to the turbo inlet, on the track to a bottle with sock sealing it. It has never breated any oil, was an interesting experiment though, think i need more boost I removed the PCV all together
  14. Awesome, your street GTR was my dream car for quite some time. It was on a DVD i had from years ago, being driven in the wet i recall? Maybe it was the previous owners car at that time? Either way, some cool toys to be playing with at the track. Mallala looks interesting and tried to get out there are few times in 2006 when i was working in Thebarton, only was havign car problems at the time so was happy the little GTSt made the return trips from Melbourne. LOL i did get drunk one night and let a few SA gusy scare me in the hills driving my car on semis. LOL i recall Darren saying he wasnt trying that hard because the tyres werent squeeling I dont think he realised semi slicks dont really squeel like road tyres
  15. Yeh the alloy adaptors are about $600, then you just need to get the rotors and calipers which are going for about $6,800 including rears. So not exactly a bargain upgrade. But great to see Nissan using a radial mount caliper, if only they did that with earlier model GTRs then you would have had a cross between a Lotus and F40 caliper, only as it woudl be radial mount it would have been oh so easy to throw larger rotors at the std caliper
  16. Always the lateral thinker Greg, i like it. Just have to secure the laptop in the car, perhaps under the passenger seat woudl be best.
  17. Thats awesome John, is this the silver/grey car with twin TD06-20Gs?
  18. Looking for some pics of GTSt which has had the std guards pumped a little to clear bigger rubber. Not interested in fibreglass flares, just looking for pics of an R32 with steel guards tweaked etc. Have seen it on plenty of S13s and looks great. Only the R32 has a pronounced guard line and not sure if it will look any good on an R32 GTSt. Alternative is GTR guards which i am trying to avoid. But whilst OS want the car left with panel beater so this can be done in the near future
  19. Anyone used their bodykits? What is the quality like? I need an R32 GTR fibreglass front bar for my GTSt so want a good quality bolt on bar which doesnt need 8hrs work by a panel beater to get right
  20. Can someone who has their ear enquite about one for an R32 GTSt runnig an RB25 gearbox? If they have done shaft of the required length then i am in
  21. Yeh, Kubica could have paid him a bit ore credit. For a guythat gas qualified like an old lady he continues to show he is abou the best racer out there and probably the best in traffic management. Heikki could learn a lot from him.
  22. Yeh Massa, along with Kubica he is my guy this year. When the chips have been down he has been good in traffic and confident, made a few msitakes but comes straight back. Last night was a great race for him and now equal 2nd in the championship as they head to tracks where Ferrari are at their best.
  23. Depending on the type of teflon its good for around 350-500deg C. So i use braided/teflon oil supply and return line. I am with Shaun, i use the silicon sheathing for my return line as absolute overkill and never been a problem, even when thrashing the guts out of the car at the track, even after a fire Even after the fire the silicon sheathing only got a little scorched and coudl have been re-used, I got a new seciton as it looked bad, still worked fine and was ductile enough at the time of removal . The replacement went on in Jan 05 and its still there and happy
  24. DS2500s are poo pads. I used one set on 6 year old DBA 4000s and another set on new DBA 4000s. They both survived to tell the tale. Endless though, they cracked new DBA 4000s on the front then only to crack near new RDA on the rear. Endless CCX, awesome pads and stopping though
  25. Where is SAU's very own Polish racing god? Probably dancing naked in the streets!
