  1. Yeh, the two medium stints up front seemed odd. Perhaps they were banking on a safety car to catch him up doing the long stint last. Keeping a casual eye on their respective pace Dans opening stint on hards was equal to Jev on the softs so doesnt appear the STR had the pace to clear cars early on. Estaban seemed to finally show something this race. Lets hope he can kick on and consolidate as he has lacked even those moments of some promise.
  2. Daniel Ricciardo Hard (16) Medium (17) Medium (11) Jean-Eric Vergne Medium (10) Medium (14) Hard (20) So, slow leak it wasnt bad enough to pit him despite the claim that it was from the start the last session. He did 20 laps on them. So Dans strategy if he had lived with him for the first two stints was always going to help with using the faster tyre at the end on low tank Also, if you look at the pace of Jev's 3rd stint its basically the same as hist first stint (like many others) vs Dan who obviously had a load more pace on the newer tyres. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2013/08/25/2013-belgian-grand-prix-lap-charts/ Has not always been the case between them but Dan definitely had the better race pace
  3. HUH? Jesus...its pretty straight forward. They started 18 and 19. No safety car or major number of cars dropping out and Dan beat him by a few places and to 10th and 1 point The fact that Dan went longer on his first set of tyres and had more life in his tyres at the end of the race is a credit to him..its not like he got a free set of tyres levitated onto his car for no time penalty of being in the pits!!!
  4. So Sky re grilling Horner and Newey about Markcs comments to Ch10...their response " not sure of any driver who is signing drivers for a team'. I see why they say Horner could replace Bernie as he seems to love the politics
  5. pls explain? And when racing the same cars on same piece of track and traffic...Dan does one over on Jev
  6. Mark knows its not about the finger but the thumb
  7. That was one of the lamest victory dances ever by Courtney
  8. Whincup and Winterbottom are the biggest sooks amongst a field of sooks
  9. Just watched the 2008 Spa race. Their race pace was 1:48s...what was he pole time? Is pretty crap watching F1 cars race 10sec off their quali pace
  10. The last few GPs are evidence that Horner should have taken the approaches of Hamo last year a lot more serious I think this is the 3rd or 4th time this year Vettel has edged Mark out in quali by hundredths of a second...hopefully Mark can keep all 4 wheels on this weekend and take a Spa victory
  11. Well lets hope Webber does better than the two shocker starts he has had at Spa the past 3 years
  12. FARK!
  13. This is going to be a very close Q3! Come on Mark!
  14. Not having pork chop drivers would help me really get behind them
  15. Get in there Mark!
  16. I wonder what the go is with Rick and Todd...at this rate they need to think about just running the team and getting some others in their seats. I thought Todd used to be quite quick...Moffat has left them for dead with all his top 10 finishes. I know Duncan...i was (poorly) taking the piss out of all the flk that have paid out on the Commos and Falcons for years
  17. "They're not even Nissans. Makes me laugh muppets driving their Maximas with Nismo stickers thinking they are driving a race car. Still not as quick down Conrod as the old Sierra which made more hp on 98 fuel and 2L!" LOL, couldnt help myself. Good to see Kelly-Nissan Racing bag a result. Moffat for gods sake? Never thought that punk had talent during hid DJR days....
  18. Interesting to hear Davidson in FP2 say that paddock talk is that Romain is the quicker of the Lotus drivers. Engineers say the data doesnt lie and slowly Romain is learning when to tame his speed and not over drive. Explains why the team is so patient with him
  19. Still missing Imola, Magny Cours, Estoril etc ...and Seb bleaching his hair like a member of Wham from the 80s
  20. I am thinking outside the square a little here. i wonder if there is a touch of RBR putting ff the decision to see the pack of media descend on Dan and for the RBR gang to sit back and see how he handles the media and how he strings the weekend together. Since Silverstone he has been questioned repeatedly...but post summer break and his RBR test the media this weekend will be all over him....and i am guessing its in part yet another little test for him
  21. Displacement is for strokers..real engines use boost and revs!!!
  22. What stand? I am starting to think it is easier to catch an Asian race. I really want to catch a last OS race of Webber. Singas I imagine is rubbish for spectating. Plus, your life will never be the same after a trip to the right places in Singapore
  23. In India (Actually...may have been Korea) Dan had a spin wioth a dozen laps to go when I think it was a swaybar or something failed in the car and it started pullling under brakes. He limped home to 9th giving 8th position to Jev in the process As well as looking at points you need to consider Dan had 5 points finishes...should have been 6 but the fuel pump failure at Monza with a lap to go. So not saying it means more ... but its a differenrt measure which when you factor with quali performance gives rise to possibility the thinking behing why they thingk Dan is ready for the step to RBR and not Jev. More points finishes....superior quali performance etc etc
  24. Pics of damage and condition or rails etc?
  25. Yeh, talk is that Kimi's management are meeting RBR again at Spa for final discussions. I really want Kimit o stay at Lotus. Hate to see farktart Hulk in at Lotus. The Joe Saward publication is actually veyr good as he only writes a few bibs and bobs, its mostly some other old school journos with good insight!
