Fun weekend. Stoked with my 2:02 ...could have been worse I guess. But then again should have been sooooo much better

Thats bonkers fast! Car looks really sable and balanced. No doubt in part to the fact that you drive the thing smoothly! I personally would mess with all the toe settings so its a handfull and 4 seconds slower but is a menace to drive with sideways action under brakes, through corners etc

Nice. After my playing with turbos I was just going to go with my one but went T67 just so I could baseline my results against others as I am still not sure about the performance of my new kinder surprise engine. I have said this before but this time will follow through. Need to get my car over to you for a few runs so I can understand whether its far off what a T67 setup can do, I am making 325rwklws at 18psi falling to 16psi from about 5,500rpm onwards. After PI am going to make a few changes then will give it a few runs. Feels pretty healthy at 16psi and will be pretty easy on the engien and the track...also a little easier on the RB20 box

Phil, No idea when first session is. I am guessing kicks off 9:30ish and may have had one session by lunch. Still got std diff ratio and std 210,000km old gearbox. There is some money being placed on box not lasting the weekend. I have no worries. Old RB20 boxes are tough -
James Allen and Brundle both said similar things either in teh press or over the coverage. He seems a destructive force, and credit to Mark for hanging around to spite the guy. But that has to take up some of his energy, mental capacity and interfere with him just getting on with the job. In a seperate report i read that post Malaysia Seb had been in the factory with time with Horner and the team apologising. Webber had been in the simulator and got an sms from Horner...saying "If you around swing by and say hello and we will grab a coffee" I dont think Webber and Horner have a real problem. I think that success breeds power and the Marko - Vettel combo with RBR money rule the roost. Dietrich seems a stand up guy that likes Webber and a certain culture....but is so far removed from the RBR operation that the power he delegates to Marko means he controls the gold, and he who controls the gold makes the rules. Its funny ,the past few weeks much has been said by accomplished motorsport / F1 journos if you pay for their publications. Interesting snippets at how RBR is a rather political place to be working and only bound by their success. Should that go...well.

Dont know exactly. Tuner and I agreed not to worry about a number. Just run it up, leave plenty in reaserve re fuelling and lets get a good benchmark and some kms on it. Still needs work on fuel setup and cooler piping etc etc. Is somewhere around 300-320. Depends on whether we go for 16psi or 18psi. Dont care just want to it safe to get some track miles under my belt -

Well now green lit for Phillip Island this weekend. Car is finally making reasonable power so hopefully the maiden voyage of the bucket at a track day comes up successful and we can start to chase some small remaining issues and in parallel start chasing the sort of power we should be able to achieve. -
With my driving and an inability to listen to pace notes/navigator I would need all the hp I could get my hands on. Though I suspect all that would do is get me to the scene of the accident quicker

LOL, Tomei and HKS did an RB24. The HKS even had its own crank back before the day of RB26s. Can I still commission a build of a limited number of re-engineered cars and go racing? Time for Ben to step up and make a Spec-TR R32 GTSt for other competitors

So why do you need a thermostat on a dedicated club car? From memory I run a 14 row cooler and its borderline for oil temps after 5 laps on a 260rwkw car. Its got good airflow but no ducting these days. If you can get your hands on good condition shrouds from an R32 GTST or R33GTSt then the shrouds off the stock intercoolers can serve as a pretty good starting point for ducting on an oil cooler The NISMO and ARC ones are more elborate than I ever wanted on a trackl car as they are designed for a street car where getting oil up to temp is a priority and concern over driving in damn cold weater stops temps from getting to optimum levels when the engine is jusdt potting around with no load. Now consider a track car. OIl coolers only work when there is airflow through them. You start the car up in the pits. Idle away until you get out there and then spend a lap or two getting brakes but you typically using clsoe to full load for a lap then up it. ...Thermostat is just going to open up straight away anyway. This is all assuming you are not tracking a car in near 0 temp track days. A thermostat like on those kits are subject to gumming up and not working over time...Not really an issue if you buy new, but dont buy used as that escalates the risk of thermostat not functioning correctly. They also requie way more 10AN fittings almost tripling the cost of a good cooler setup. This also means more lines running arodn engine bay, mroe braid and more leak points. I like the ARC coolers myself and looked at putting just the cooler onto my car to run in parallel with my other. Mostly for giggles as I just like the core. It didnt fit with my Jun grille but there is also the anal engineering question of whether the less rows but longer rows is actually worse for pressure drop then more shorter rows. Probably bugger all difference in it but oen thing that shapes my thnking when I finally get my cooler piping sorted for the new setup and change oil coolers to a new one with ducts For me sounds like our cars are smiliar. I call my car club spec and do track days that I drive to and from. Plust still loads of street kms a year as a daily driver. I advocate what UI am telling you as its rather a proven thing for me for 1/3 of the price. Anyway...just trying to pass on the thinking why I chose the path I did...your car...your choice

So my RB24 Neo RB20 is no longer the gun engine for Tarmac events Just have a switch that shuts off the wastegate and on the final stretch of road when you can see the finish line opull unlimited boost and give ita a FnF downshift to get the revs up to 12k and push hard for the finish line. Wont be enough of the engine left to check
-
Frankly I think you are looking at this a little wrong. Speedflow, Earls, Aeromotive etc all will do the job. If its a dedicated track car why do you even want the complication of a thermostat? Buy a billet sandwich plate, 4 speedlfow fittings and some 10AN line to go to your 14-24 row cooler and duct it up. There are so many variables with regards to fitting depending on the car you run, the cooler pipes you run often the bolt on kits are not bolt on unless your car is std in most areas Nismo and ARC are big dollars and dont seem to even suit what you are chasing for a dedicated track car thgat needs to put cooling performance and pressure drop no.1

Well in true MW style he normally comes alivethe next 3-4 races. He really needs twom wins to have any chance of at least saying he was on the hunt let alone a chance

I am running an R32 RB25DE head which has 256/8.5mm Poncams. When I bought the engine it had "upgraded Valves and springs" but was only making 350rwhp. At the moment I have a strange problem that the car is making good power at 15psi but as soon as I wind 20psi it makes the same power. I run 25psi and it wll lose a smidge of power. So what valvesprings do the folk that run these heads on RB30s run for proven 600rwhp results

Stop enabling him and go buy a Caterham

I have to say I really like Whitmarsh. I like how he responds directly to questions, how he handles the drivers. I think back to the sphincter of the universe and the example of how to let your drivers race Perez looks like he had a bit of wind in him, mde for good viewing but he wasn;t showing a lot of race craft considering the pace advantage he had over Button Lots of good battles and more than anything so glad Romain was in the fight and showed some nice race craft
