  1. Guys, these are in my shed and now getting in the way. They are old and I suspect have gone hard (as they do). There is plenty of tread left, no camber wear, no flat spots, they are not damaged. I'll confirm exact specs tonight when I'm home but, meh, what else do you need to know. They skid tyres after all. Pick up only in Caulfield South. If you're feeling generous you can give me beer.
  2. Hope you don't mind the thread-jack, but any ideas how much neg you can dial in?
  3. Bumpski
  4. Khumo KU31? I think for that kind of money I'd go new. I've sourced KU 36's for just under $1k fitted and balanced. But I'm still lookin for an el cheapo option. Cheers anyway Aaron. Offer is appreciated.
  5. Sorry, to be clear, I've got some crappy 245s laying around (see top of thread) that I'm happy to give away, but my 9.5s need 265s. I was hoping someone was in my position but with 265s! Cheers.
  6. Dang. Thought I was onto something. Any other offers. Surely, like me (245/40/18), someone has something kicking around taking up space in the garage?
  7. Guys, the rubber hose at the front end of my twin turbo pipe has come loose. So, 2 querstions. A) On the hard aluminium pipe with TT written on it there are some lugs near where the rubber pipe is clamped. Does the rubber pipe need to go over the top of these and do you clamp behind them B) How much torque do you put on the clamp. Wind it up reallly tight or just nip it up firmly. Thanks guys. Came off on the way to work this morning.
  8. Good topic. Am watching.
  9. Bute. Thanks Aaron. Should've thought to call you first.
  10. Anyone?
  11. I have 2 of the same car. I love both. I drive my wife's car over the weekend and then the GTR on Monday and it is heaven. Worst case you will lose an engine. $10k bill for a proper fix.
  12. Hi Marcus, thanks. You're back.
  13. lol at not wanting to modify. I'm utterly addicted to modding my GTRs and had no idea what I was in for when I got my first stocker. I didn't even really know about modding cars when I bought it......then small things lead to bigger things. Prepare for the addiction. Prepare.
  14. Bumping this up.
  15. Here are the pics of the sills on both my R32 GTRs. My GTRs are immaculate. Hope this helps. Full pic of the red one for the sake of judging condition.
  16. I have that same 'weld' on my sill. I had my car thoroughly inspected before purchase and I believe it to be a very clean straight car that has not been crashed. I'm not so sure it's that unusual. Could be normal. I'll try and post up a pic of mine.
  17. Ironic thread considering your posts in mine...
  18. Please share the conversation if you can.
  19. OK, I've decided I'm never really going to understand this more than as an overall concept. I've read up and I'm slightly baffled. It is obviously a highly complex area which you need specific knowledge for and by the sounds of things a lot of practical experience too. Simply, too low is bad for GTRs - which we all know. Just need to establish ideal front and rear ride heights (355 345 FR is what I think is right for R32s and I'm not sure how much off std this is), then fiddle with Track Spring rates Damper rates Antirollbars All of the above to be determined by above said expert. Very grateful to you all for your input. I'd be happy to see this discussed further but am not sure that I've got anything useful to add!
  20. Guys, I want to properly learn what this is and how it relates to handling. Some context; it's often discussed that lowering a GTR too much affects the roll centre which adversely affects handling. Can anyone explain in lay terms, or point me to something on this site or elsewhere would be a good read up on this area. Diagrams would be good too. Lastly, I hear you can get suspension components that allow an adjustable roll centre. Can you give me some details of what these are preferably with pics / links? This would contribute to my understanding too. Thanks.
  21. I've got a few sets of rims and therefore they each only get used occassionally. I've got enough money tied up in expensive tires so just need something cheap (got to be legal, no damage or safety isues) to wrap around a new set coming my way. Can't remember the profile but it'll be 30-35-40. If you've got something laying around please let me know. Warning - I'm not going to be paying much. On the flip side I've got some old RE01s that have gone a little hard in 245/40/18 that anyone is welcome to free of charge, or as a swap. You take a little, you give a little. Cheers.
  22. I can comment on this as I've had recent conversations with Merdian and Brown Davis. You can have the full interior in there, but it's a fiddle and will cost. I'm considering this route for myself as part of a strategy of not getting pinged by the law when (howsover infrequent) I drive on the road, and for some other sundry reasons too. Full cage legality is contentious at best and can be summarised as 'best you don't get caught with one'. I do beleive it is possible though.......Apart from side instrusion the main hoop diagonals, the roof daigonals and the A pillar visibility are also no-no's. Like Paul says interior space is tight on the R32 (reportedly 50mm less in a 32 cf a 33) but as I'm also 5'9" I've been advised I should be able to retain adjustable runners, albeit they will not be factory and will be able to get the factory seat back in there if required. Even so I reckon head space will be tight. I'd think a (reputable) cage builder would not do a full CAMS compliant cage with bolt in side instrusion bars for occassional removal. Hope this helps. Speak with either / both of the above mentioned fabricators and they will tell you straight.
  23. I hope this is not a swan song.......
  24. Watching.....
  25. Well, mine was left overnight too. Twas 4 degrees and it was looked at stone cold, first thing in the morn.
