Sooo, how the bloody hell did you order it? Their website says nothing....
-
From memory there is a little more to it than that. I will have to dig out some stuff (or try to find it atleast) when I get home. Because it is a test/tune day there will be proper race cars there & they don't want just anyone on the track without some preliminary lecturing etc.
-
On the assumption it is a normal track day - yes. Maybe Snowie can confirm 100% whos auspices it is being run under.
-
Which event? Wanneroo www.wascc.com.au Collie www.motoringsouthwest.org.au
-
Bloody EVO's. Like a plague of locusts, presently.
-
I hear what you are saying, but... But the ticket prices for the WA round were $69 for the Sunday for general admission. Saturday was $63. Weekend pass was $150 for the three days. This didn't get you into the pits. That was an extra $33 on the Sunday. Those prices were if you booked - gate prices were higher. The thing was sold out (Saturday & Sunday) atleast a fortnight prior to the event.
-
But less than 30,000 people on a long weekend is still bloody awful. As to Neil & the 888 thing. Why would they deliberately use dodgy rear rotors at Eastern Creek on a bitterly cold bay & then on one car only. Smells like a straight forward fk up to me. If it was premeditated it wouldn't be the rears it would be the fronts & it wouldn't be at Eastern Creek it would be somewhere like Surfers or in Tassie & even then it would have to be a hot day. Even so the whole control spec rotors thing has been a debacle.

I just want to stand next to some bogon in a HRT jacket wearing the Super Aguri stuff. With regard to the safety car you can't help but feel sorry for young Rosberg. He got shafted simply because he had to come in because otherwise he would have run out of fuel. He has really stepped up this year & is belting his team mate. Same happened to Alonso, except I don't have anywhere near the same amount of sympathy as he had an absolute dog of a race. Wouldn't like to be in his head at the present time....
-
I, for one, wont be happy until I can get some super cool Super Aguri merchandise. Hell I was a fan of Aguri Suzuki when he drove for Larrousse.... But Davidson was supposed to be good, so what the hell is he doing? I can't understand what RBR where thinking either. But Honda managed the same degree of stupidity - so maybe it is just that there isn't anyone in the world who understands the safety car rules anymore.

Not having been there I can't comment on the spectating. But Wanneroo was sold out (Saturday & Sunday) weeks before the race weekend. I am a bit bitter & twisted because the V8's reckion they aren't going back to Wanneroo, the "replacement" street race has a snowballs chance in hell of getting up & even if it did it would be awful (bad circuit) & waste/lose a huge amount of money that could be better spent on improving our permanent facilities. We had a motorsport event in Perth - Rally Australia. The State Government couldn't be bothered running & promoting that properly - so why should this be any different? I am sure the like of Caterpiller, Fujitsu, Castrol, Toll, SEW Eurodrive & all the other sponsors will be thrilled by the way the V8 mob are treating fans in one of their biggest markets. Maybe things will improve if John Hewson gets Cochrane job. He might introduce a GST or something. Seperately the WASCC are presently carrying on with all the grace of a bunch of monkeys engaged in a poo throwing competition - presidents resigned, people are getting all lawyered up & a number of folk who have given unstinting service ot the club for many years are decding it is getting all too hard.
-
Did anyone notice the rubbish attendance at Eastern Creek? Friday 4250 Saturday 9530 Sunday 15350 Total 29530 Wanneroo: Packed to the gunnels on each day. So which event do you think the V8 wallies want to ditch? No bloody wonder Tony Cochrane has been given the arse....
-
Aww, c'mon Baron show the man some love. He is feeling a bit neglected at the moment. Personally I just want a couple of photos of Sato passing Kimi, then Fernando. Go the Super Aguris.

What Is The Weight Of Air In A Tyre?
djr81 replied to predator's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
God I hate chemistry. Anyway, density of air at, say atmospheric pressure & 50 degrees C is 1.09kg/m3. So three bar will obvisouly be three times this. Work out your tyre volume & you have an answer. By the way the wheel and tyre will be on the heavier side of 20kg.... -
It bolts up under the inlet manifold. Get a mirror to see it. Looks like this:

Greatest F1 Driver Of All Time?
djr81 replied to Kozeyekan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
You forgot his brain explosion in '94 against Hill. You are all a bunch of noob's. Best F1 driver of all time was Jim Clark. Senna aside, the rest of those mentioned aren't yet qualifed to remove his tyre warmers - except he never had tyre warmers, or telemetary, or 40,000 engineers to make the car perfect, or crash barriers & side impact regulations. Only a dodgy Colin Chapman chassis that was half as strong as it should have been & a customer Ford motor. But for me the greatest will always be Jack Brabham. He & Ron Tauranac managed to run, engineer & finance a grand prix team (with parallel minor formula involvement with Honda, no less) using an Australian engine to two consecutive World Championships. One to Sir Jack (His third) & one to the much lamented Denny Hulme. Parochialism, sure - but read his auto bio & dig through the things they used to get up to in the 60's. The longevity of both his & Ron Tauranac's relationships with auto giants such as Honda is testament to the integrity & many other qualities that these two old school gents have. Unlike most of those on the above lists you need not make any excuses for them. -
Adjustable Upper Arms - Problem R32 Gtr
djr81 replied to Ronin 09's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This may sound stupid - but the stock ones are handed. Did you put the right one on the right hand side & the left one on the left hand side? Also what is your ride height & how much castor are you running? -
I will have one for sale in a few weeks. Send us a PM if you are interested.
-
Yeah be nice to see some proper street races on the list again. Hope they can manage to put some good corners in there somewhere. Actually I used to believe everything the FIA said, but now I just believe everything I read on internet forums. Works for me.
-
Well that is fine, but do you remember how crap Detroit was? Or the Las Vegas GP that they ran in a car park (I shit you not)
-
Garth, seriously. If you can get RE55's in that size for $250ea then buy them. Now. The rest of us plebs pay closer to $400 a tyre.
-
That would be Kiwi land then. Sad, but true. As for the death of track days I can't see them becoming less popular. Only two things loom that may take them out: 1. Cost. 2. Big accidents. The first is obvious the second, well that is pretty obvious too, really. In this day & age it comes down to "has everything possible been done" to remove the chance of injury or death. So how defensible is 200+km/h in a non roll caged car?
-
A good party trick in a Skyline is to open the bonnet & get someone to push (hard) onthe brake pedal. Then watch that firewall flex. Mmmm, lovely.
-
Unfortunately anything over 200 & the bonnet starts vibrating & the clacker valve starts actuating & it is all a bit much for me, really. If anyone wants to work out their optimum gear change points (you need a dyno chart) fire us off a PM with your email address & will send the excel spreadsheet with it all on.
-
Um, multiply the number (ie km/h per 1000rpm) by the old diff ratio & divide it by the new. So 28.5 * 4.111/4.375 = 26.78. It is only 6% shorter - you sure it is worth it?
