  1. Yeah the other half is all Dallara (Which I don't mind). It is the customer Ferrari for huge slabs of the thing that annoys me. It is not what F1 is supposed to be about. From the article: The Haas VF-16 is the first car from the US based team, but it has largely been constructed in Italy. In the past to be considered a constructor a team would have to design an construct its own chassis, front impact structure, suspension, suspension geometry, radiators, bodywork, steering system, brakes, floor and fuel tank at the very minimum. But at the start of the 2014 season that requirement was dropped to only require teams to design and build the chassis, front impact structure, suspension, suspension geometry, brake ducts and bodywork. For 2015 that has been further simplified again an now a constructor only needs to make the monocoque and bodywork. Everything else can be purchased. Haas opted to have Dallara manufacture the chassis for the VF-16, while Ferrari will provide almost everything else. “We have the front suspension, rear suspension, hydraulics, steering, electronics all from Ferrari. Radiators we have to do as that is classified as bodywork” Steiner explains. “We are using these things to focus on the overall car design, why make an effort to do our own damper or something when we can just get them from Ferrari.. We have everything exactly the same as the Ferrari.” Like the man says - why make an effort when you can just run a Ferrari. May as well make it a spec formula and be done with it.
  2. Reckon Hamilton will sort his starts out?
  3. Supplementary dumb question then: What did you use for a valve spring compressor?
  4. Just out of interest what size & thread pattern is that. Also you changed the valve springs with the head on or off?
  5. Webber needs to call people mate more often. Sad but not unexpected to see the Renaults struggle so hard. Also this:
  6. The A048 semi slick has a bad reputation for degrading in grip as it gets heat cycled. The A050 is regarded as much better. You will belt the front left around Wanneroo in a GTR.
  7. Best of luck. Yokohama motorsport are happy to give fk all in the way of discount. Yes that's right, fk all. Oh and stay away from anything with 48 in the number.
  8. Maybe your triple decaf extra hot soy latte sugar free almond milk chino with chocolate? I would dump the oil and check for go fast glitter.
  9. Or just post the we address into the page on translate.google.com and press translate.
  10. Done loads of track days and other than the odd paint chip there isn't usually a problem. Put some tape over your headlights if you are worried about them. Don't follow people closely in the corners and you wont get much chucked at your car.
  11. Black and Gold were not Lotus colours really. British Racing Green and yellow were. The Black and gold livery was cigarette companies colours, same as the blue and yellow that nobody remembers. Never really cared for the corporate bankers/capitalists trying to claim the Lotus heritage. They could have had it for $2 back in 1994 but no one wanted it then. So they pay millions for it years after it has lost most of its value. Was happy enough with the Toleman/Benetton/Renault lineage. Don't forget this was the team that gave Derrick Warwick (A former Renault factory driver too, by the way) and some bloke called Senna a break. Plus Johnny Cecotto drove for them if you wanted to follow a Venezuelan. BTW, best driver combination ever: Johnny ChookLotto and Gianfranco BrokenTellie, Bathurst 1987.
  12. How do you tell what size they are - you measure them. Verier callipers aren't that expensive.
  13. Maybe? http://www.upgarage.com/upgarage/stock/1/2/1512932004999/932?size=ll
  14. Random question. What sort of battery is it? Also suggest painting the strut braces where they bolt tot he suspension towers for moar stealth.

    Legality

HR31 yes but a 2 litre turbro. Not the 3 litre local version of the RB. Guessing you have turboed the 3 litre motor as per (Sort of) the Commodore?
  16. Easiest way to find out is swap the wheels front to rear and go for a spin in the wet. Understeer = result.
  17. Pretty sure the anti syphoning laws prevent it from being shown on pay tellie without it going out on fta.
  18. Pretty sure the Aus GP will be free to air.
  19. So what is the diameter of the knurl you pulled out of your car?
  20. Give him a break. It is a reasonable question. I went out and measured a front Nismo stud and the outside of the knurl is 14.25mm or thereabouts. So if yours measures the same you are away as I bought mine for a GTR with ten in a packet.
  21. Are they different at all? The Nismo stuff afaik comes in packets or 8 or 10 to suit the stud count and are different front to rear but they don't appear to differentiate between R32 models. The diameters of the knurled sections is different front to rear but the count is unimportant. Also nice work Ben on the machining terminology pedantry.
  22. You measure them and match them to a product catalogue from your preferred supplier. For example. http://www.linearbearings.com.au/wp-content/uploads/New-Rod-End-Brochure.pdf
  23. How far south did you get? Nice shots too.
