Rebuilding R33 / GTR gearbox
djr81 replied to RB335's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
YOu could try a little company called Nissan. Or failing that http://justjap.com/driveline/gearbox/genuine-nissan-gearbox-nissan-skyline-r32-r33-gtr-5-speed.html -
Like Piggas says. Diff goes clunkety clunk even on the lowest setting. Change the oil and it becomes liveable.

Still wondering wtf happened to the 7. https://shop.lego.com/en-AU/Caterham-Seven-620R-21307 -
Best F1 races have almost always been in the wet.
-
Possibly. If that last race didnt do anything for you then there is no hope at all.

Well if it has a finished space frame and a body kit you are half way there. Have a look at the SA clubbies forum for sale by way of an example. http://www.clubbiessa.com/clubbie_classifieds.shtml -

Maybe but I dont like the idea of sitting on a live rear axle especially when IRS is so easy for these things. I guess you need to decide if it is to be registered or not. AFAIK you cant motorbike engine it and have it registered. That and the transplanted motor is only allowed to be so old. Cant remember how old. There are plenty of half finished clubbie projects laying about. Low ball away I say. -

Well they are all a little bit different. Some have Toyota motors, one of them has a CA18DET. As long as the thing is a wide body (So you can wedge your child bearing hips into the thing) and has IRS it is not going to be that far wrong. Clubbies have been around for something like 60 years. They are all much of a muchness. AMB, Birkin, Westfield. They quality of the build and fit and finish vary widely but if you want some thing cheap, fast, driveable on the road then you can do alot worse than 7's. -

Well here is a random (Maybe) example. Results from the last super sprint I did. P3, P5, P8, P11 are all clubbies. Just buy a 7. Cheap as you like or as expensive as you want it to be. Plus they are very quick on the right hands. Not Radical quick but it the track has corners they will more often than not beat a Skyline. Their aero is a bit like a brick wall, however. -
R32 GTR Pads, Rotors, Lines?

Yeah but to be fair he appears to have been getting better and the better of Kevin lately. Goes postal on the radio which is always amusing. Magnussen is supposedly off to Haas. Guessing he got pushed. Still happy for the Hulk after all this time he may have got a properly good seat. Will see how much coin and how good the Renault is next year I suppose. Reckon Britney will win another race this year?
-
Did not expect this: Jolyon Palmer stays put at Renault in 2017. Renault Sport chairman Jerome Stoll says: “The line-up of Jolyon and Nico harnesses the benefits of continuity and fresh blood,” Palmer said. “I am sure that having Nico as a team-mate will help push Jolyon to greater achievements. “We thank Kevin Magnussen for his efforts in 2016 as he has done a great job for us this year. We wish him all the best for 2017 and beyond.” “We have been impressed with his increasingly strong performances on track as the season has progressed.” “We are confident that the combination of Jolyon and Nico Hulkenberg offers a very promising driving force to meet our goals.”

Battery disconnected to Power FC for a long period - will it forget?
djr81 replied to dan.1337's topic in General Maintenance
You can just go through the display and write down the settings if you are sufficiently worried about it. But no, it wont forget. -

Just Got My First R32 GTR! Maintenance??
djr81 replied to powerdbygarrett's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
3rd gear grind is because the synchro on that gear is the first to start to wear/fail. It wont be the clutch. Filters are largly just filters. Hard to get upspec paper no matter how hard you try. Also unless you are going to the race track any half decent brand of brake fluid is fine. The Sumitomo calipers suck anyway as does the amount of flex in the firewall. If you want a lol get one of your mates to put his foot on the brake while you watch the fire wall flex, from the engine bay side, obviously otherwise it is just going to be wierd. -
Well this is the advert for the car if anyones Japanese is up to snuff. http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_stock_detail.php?entry=0180.dat&model=BNR32

Dont care so much about what it is but I would like to find the thingo that goes in place of the ash tray to fit it there. May well be this: http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/electronics/boost/evc6-ir24/index.html

Ludo is off to djrtp. Sweet. Big things are predicted for next year......

Anyone know who/what/where this may have come from?

Good race. Many lols. Verstappen gets a penalty for the same thing Hamilton gets away with. Verstappen won't redress because he wants third. Then gets penalised and drops to fifth. Then gets promoted to 4th which is where he would have been had he redressed. Then Lauda pours a bucket of shit on him. Vettel goes postal and gets nothing. Moves around under brakes and gets spanked. Good good. Rosberg looks like he will cruise around in P2 to the wdc. Hoping like hell the new rules for 2017 will include some interesting racing for the lead instead of p3 at best. Newey looks to be half interested again.

Most of the guided trips will have you on trains anyway. Seeing as they are so easy for my ten cents worth diy is the go. There isnt alot in Hokkaido other than the skiing. In the middle of Japan there are loads of things to look at. What do you wan to see out of the cities?
