  1. They missed the boat in terms of how could you possibly explain to someone who is casually interested in F1 or who wasn't into cars in the first place - how do you explain to them how the engines work and if you get to that point what, for example, makes the MB better than the Renault? Fuel economy is good appears to be as much as they can manage - and yeah it is but so is a V8 revving to 20,000rpm and ripping your head off every time it goes past. I don't reckon the races last year were good because of the engines.
  2. Its all bullshit anyway. The CO2 emissions just from running the wind tunnels all day every day far outweigh that from the cars. Then there is all the air freight. Then there is all the miles the spectator travel. And so on and so on. They should be running on ethanol or biofuel anyway. Cant understand why they don't.
  3. Is the chrome depletion inherent in the welding process and is it effectively supplanted by the carbide deposition/precipitation? Or is it a poor process causing the problem? Also is a different alloy a solution. Obviously Inconel works. Would a 321 be a better option? Sorry for the numpty questions.
  4. Im not sure I subscribe to the wrapping causes cracking assertion. I would reckon much of the stainless manifolding will crack anyway. Troy you mentioned stress corrosion cracking. We get that at work but mostly it is instigated by chloride or caustic attack at grain boundaries. Not sure I can figure the mechanism in an exhaust?
  5. Out of that lot sway bars are the cheapest/best. Followed by coils/shocks. Followed by an LSD. The only other things worth considering are bushes (If the originals are stuffed) and grippier tyres. Note grippier tyres not changing rims for the sake of it.
  6. Check them but also wait for a sale. They occasionally do 20% off or similar.

  8. Why Flav like and not Flav? Would be worth it for the lols. Be nice if the power that be could find a way of making the lower ranked teams viable. And more of them. Was looking at the 2005 stuff of the back of the earlier posts. Ridiculous how many good teams there were.
  9. Test livery? Cant remember what the colours should be other than light blue and yellow which were sort of Renault colours anyway or just those for Asturias? If all the sponsors are on board because of Alonso does that make him a pay driver?
  10. CSB time. Inconel exhausts wear from the insides out. So the thin wall stuff you see on race cars has a very finite life.
  11. Mine warped then cracked. So it was a matter of which caused the failure first. Will have a look to see where it cracked but would guess a weld. FWIW I have no faith that such a thin coating of ceramic does anything to restrict heat transfer. There is a reason we use massively thick refractory on our vessels.
  12. Why not a brake rotor or just the hat?
  13. Yes 19" is too big. 17 or 18 is the right size, anything larger just look too fully sik & hectic basically. You don't use different sized rims because a different rolling diameter will upset your 4WD system and a different tyre width will just make the thing understeer even worse than it already does.
  14. Second hand ones are not worth the effort. Better off with a reconditioned item.
  15. Some of this stuff may be to your liking. http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/tag/adobe-lightroom-tutorial/ https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=digital+camera+worl+lightroom Mag usually has a cd and a project in it for post editing. Not sure where you are at with lightroom.
  16. In either white, silver, gun metal grey, black or red?
  17. Not something amongst all this? https://www.youtube.com/user/AdobeLightroom Or here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18
  18. Random photos
  19. Is plural.
  20. Maths. Plural please because we aren't Seppo's. Can do the calcs but I cant see your drop box on this pc. Just measure the length x width x thickness. Then measure the radius at the middle of the piece. Then multiply the volume by the radius by the radius (R squared). It isn't technically correct by the density of the aluminium doesn't change so you don't include it as it will all cancel out in the end. Do this for the trigger section and the other part parallel to the face of the cam gear. Add the number together and make the balance piece match this number. Job done.
  21. It isn't volume it needs to be same moment of inertia. I=m x r x r where m is the mass in question and r the radius of the centre of the mass. To work it out treat the bent up tab as one piece and the other section as a second piece. Add the results together.
  22. Hmm probably not worth bothering with then. Guessing it would just get stolen anyway.
  23. Any use for recording when the car isn't being used? I only ask because mine was gone through in the shed last night by some local miscreants. Would be amusing to post their mugshots up if such a device was available.
  24. Paint the brakes black.
  25. Where did you get your Z221 price from. 255/40/17?
