6Boost Vs. Doc-Race Vs. Full-Race Manifold
Nismo 3.2ish replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I was recommended to use the 6Boost , I have read pretty good reviews for them. I guess , like you said, you cannot please everybody. When you sell a lot of this type product with so many welds, you are bound to get a few problems So I guess time will tell ??? -

Nrma Vintage And Classic Insurance
Nismo 3.2ish replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
^^^ Exactly, but I doubt if some of us would ever be able to insure the car for what we have spent but at least it is closer than the crappy amount some other companies will insure us for and then charge a shit load more for the honour of using their company -

There is no doubt that you can get your car insured closer to it's worth, but unfortunately not what we spent on them, or think they are worth, lol My premium dropped by $500 and the agreed value went up $20,000 BUT naturally there are trade offs with driving limitations, but I think for most of us , well worth it -

As I said in earlier posts, this new 10 times a month will be harder to police than 9000klm PA. At least with the 9000klm they can have a chance of checking your klms on the odometer, but 10 times a month would be a nightmare to keep track of, or prove ?? Does it mean you can use your car 120 times a year, or if you used your car 1 time during a month and then 10 times half way through the next month, that you cannot dive it one more time that month and you cannot use any of the 9 drives from the month before that you did not use. Just joking, but it seems to be just about impossible to enforce . -
The shop got it, it was supposed to have all of the right tests , X-Rayed, Acid wash, Sonic test , hot tank , so if it was done right you would expect a good block. Anyway, it should only be a few days before the results are back and I will post them on the coolant thread Off topic again, whoooops

Imagine trying to police Google, what a nightmare . If Google and other similar companies were required to remove all of the possible litigious comments from web sites, it would be like a Cyber desert ? As the US is VERY litigious, you would think no one would be game to write anything on Google US, well unless it was warm and cuddly , how boring . Freedom of speech, were does that start and finish ?

Sorry if I misunderstood Kat , it just hit close to home I guess I totally understand that people should not be allowed to say whatever comes into their head and dump on workshops. There is always 2 sides to every story. Frustrated, you bet!

I wondered when you would POP up, you are frustrating , lol There is nothing I can say to you to change your mind, so This is when i would like to dump Rule 2, lol

I am sick of some people that talk up a storm without any idea what happened, well except for what they are told by the shop. I do not want to ague with anyone regarding this, I know what happened and it is probably going to cost $10k to fix it Here is an email I sent to the shop on the 18/3/15 (the shop is not mentioned but if someone does not believe me and wants a PM I will send it in full, and countless others) As you can see, this was not the first time I mentioned the water loss, I picked it up on the 13/3/15 , did not drive it on the 14th and called them 2 days before this email. Keep in mind , the overflow has to empty before you can see the loss from the radiator. V V V V V Have done another 250Klms , but this time it used 700ml of water, water still clean with a slight scum on top after filling. The water temp remained just under normal, never changed. Oil is still a good colour , pressure is a steady 50. Regards Pete On 18/03/2015 3:34 PM,

Kat, - the E, sorry Yeah I know what you mean, I have read a lot of rubbish lately. As for getting high and mighty, how can you say that, what do you know about other peoples problems, you have not had to live with it for half a year and now, pay for it. In my case I reported the problem to the shop 3 days after picking the car up, it was not noticeable until the overflow emptied. That was 7 months ago and it remained the same until I had to get someone else to fix it. I had tried to have it sorted for months, without any luck. Sure people make mistakes and I gave ample time for the mistakes to be fixed before getting upset, took the car in 3 times and was told it was fixed, well, it was never fixed ? Loyalty is one thing, blind loyalty is another.

Point taken, whoops But through the course of a long thread I would think 70% of them would have been closed if someone was disrespectful in a post ,lol It must be hard to pick out banter from disrespect at times

Kate I sort of agree with you, go to a workshop and make an opinion based on how you feel and the info you can get about the shop. But if they could not make you feel all warm and fuzzy about what they can do for you , you would not use them. How many blokes have been told it will be a 4 to 8 week build and 4 to 8 months go by and still waiting, not feeling to warm and fuzzy then, but when it is finished they kiss their butts ? Most shops have done some great work and it seems the crap gets sweep under the forum's carpet because you cannot say what really happened to your car if it is negative, why, it gets closed because the owner of the site can be sued when you do. I understand that better now from Duncan's post. People that have had a good job done will jump down your neck if you are negative and they will stick up for the shop, that is accepted, but the blokes that have had a bad experience and express their opinion in the same tone, they get the thread closed! These people are professionals, not only at doing work on your car but also work on your head from the reputation they build. I have no trouble believing most shops can build some great cars and more better builds than bad ones or they would not last very long. BUT a good shop will stand up and fixes their mistakes. In my case I have always said these blokes can do very good work. When I have had problems I have always given the shop a chance to fix it or 2 or 3 chances.
-
I think this is good advice, but there could be more negative posts than positive for the same shop and you will never see them, they will be deleted, or denied ??? So if you have a shop doing 400 builds a year and get 100 good reviews and a shop doing 100 builds and gets 100 good reviews . they seem equal, but they are nowhere near equal ? But the 300 bad reviews get lost ? I GUESS I AM JUST SOUR sorry
-
Thanks Duncan, cannot be any clearer than that. Also interesting It is basically how I thought it would work as you have to be fair, I also have had good experiences at the same shop. Knowing that a real person could be in a legal bind over this will make me even more careful before I press send As long as I can still call a few blokes on here DH I am a happy camper

Nrma Vintage And Classic Insurance
Nismo 3.2ish replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
That sounds great, what restrictions do they put on the Policy. Mine was over 3 times as much for $65k and I thought that was a great price, but there are restrictions, NO more than 10 times a month can you use your car, no shopping, no dropping the kids off to school etc . You must have a DD! When you look up SGIO and put in NSW it directs you to their partner in NSW, the NRMA , that is who I use but the price is so much higher. I do live in a country town, so it is not like I live in a suburb that is high risk -
How about some input Luke, 46,096 posts you must have seen just about everything that has happened for years What can and can't you say on this type of Forum. Surely we have the right to post results, good or bad without getting SAU in trouble ? I think you can say just about anything on SAU type forums as long as you do not attack the shop and I for one, ask blokes to stop it if they get too aggressive in their post, all it does is get the thread shut down
-
Trouble is when you quote the facts, it is still only your opinion , best of luck if the job to fix is a BIG one and they want dodge responsibility
-
Hi Ravi, But if you are just stating what happened with your cars build and you are not being stupid with what you say, you should be able to post the facts. I must say I have been allowed to do this on SAU and other forums without the thread being closed or deleted When I post I always just state the facts as to what has happened to my car, never made anything up or fiddled with the truth, I do not mention the shop in these posts, trouble is over blokes say who it is and if they are being smart asrses I ask them to stop. I also understand that when you modify cars not everything goes as planned , "shit happens" and it does. All I ever want is to get more knowledgeable members to give me some advice. So I post the facts and wait for help. Trouble is some seem to take it a a personal attack in some way because they have not had a bad experience at the same shop and I can understand this, but they should take the blinkers off before they shoot their mouth off I understand how a registered club forum can be worried about what people say on the Forum by members, but unless the administration, in some way agree with the post, how is the club liable . They could be asked to remove posts or action will be taken, so they close the thread and another shitty mod job goes under the carpet? This means only nice cuddly shit can be said about a shop or nothing. Does this mean the Registered club is liable for sending customers to a shitty shop because they removed negative feedback, can the member then sue the Club if they get a bad job and the shop does not take responsibility . Where does it stop and sanity come into play ???????
-
I think it is very hard to say anything bad about workshops on forums, there are blokes that have good experiences and some not so good from the same shop. If some blokes can say good things about a shop, the blokes that have had bad experience/s should have the same rights , well? You should be able to put the facts out there without dumping on the shop and let blokes blokes make their own minds up, but this is also difficult.
