  1. Welcome and like xALmoN says check your belts first.
  2. Always nice to welcome a fellow lover of wagons to the forum. Great work on getting the conversion done.
  3. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the search for a new car.
  4. No worries mate, good luck with the install.
  5. I got your PM. Tim's right it just says to fit the earthing wire securely to the body etc. It doesn't give a specific mounting position.
  6. Can you it narrow it down to certain sections or something. That is quite a lot of translation.
  7. Fair enough, please let me know if you hear of any cheap car spaces (preferably garages) up for rent or sale. Tokyo is preferable but Yokohama is good as well.
  8. What limits you to one car?
  9. Awesome, I wish I had access to free parking. I would have the space filled in the blink of an eye.
  10. How much were you paying for car space rental in Yokohama if you don't mind me asking.
  11. You'll have to forgive Birds, he struggles with numbers he can't count up to on his fingers and toes.
  12. It isn't the fact it is a VL. There are a bunch of people on here that have never even owned a Skyline and you only have to look at the For Sale thread to see the diversity of cars that are advertised. The problem is that you are lying in the advertisement (it isn't rare). Also you are stating a ridiculously high price. The last VL for sale on here was ridiculously over priced too. It doesn't matter if you are advertising it for your brother, it is your SAU profile and you are responsible for the posts made with it. Put more thought in to your advertisements before you post them and people will be more supportive.
  13. Completely indistinguishable from a motorbikes skids.
  14. I am so glad I own a wagon, some of you sedan guys are an embarrassment to the VL scene. There is nothing rare or special about your car other than it is a VL. A HDT VL with certificates is rare, a Walky is rare, an A9Y wagon is rare, a yellow BT1 is rare and a manual-turbo-Berlina-wagon is rare. Your VL is an auto, NA VL that isn't even original (especially after it gets the respray). $5500? The only reason you are posting on SAU is because you know you will be flamed to a cinder on CalaisTurbo asking for that much money. Be realistic and don't call something rare that isn't.
  15. Wow, I have never seen a genuine Tommy Kaira Stagea before, well done! Welcome to the forums too.
  16. Just a few random shots from around Tokyo. Railway above road above boats, that's using your real estate efficiently. RX-8 I like the pinstriping around the front bar vents/lights.
  17. Welcome, I hope you are enjoying your new ride. How does it compare to the Supra?
  18. Sounds awesome, how good is it to have a useable boot and somewhere to comfortably sleep in a car should the need arise. Welcome to SAU and also to the wonderful world of wagons.
  19. Awesome, glad to hear you are getting the little problems sorted out. Keep up the good work.
  20. I haven't done it but I have spent a fair bit of time under cars and I really recommend you get some ramps, it will be so much more stable and reliable than stands. It scares me to think of what can happen - bumped car, freak earthquake and it's all over. Ramps are really handy too, even doing oil changes is so much easier with ramps. I bought a pair off ebay for $30.
  21. Nice and welcome back.
  22. It's Chinese mate. The first one is something like putting in and taking out peace. The second one is something like smooth sailing.
  23. After Odaiba I went to a building in Hammamatsucho. I preferred this building to Skytree and the building in Shijuku. The lower height means you get to see the surrounding area in greater detail and I felt a part of the city rather than the more detached feeling I got with the higher buildings. Also the atmosphere inside was a lot nicer with dim lighting, nice music and far less people. It is 500Y (discount ticket otherwise about 620yen I think)which is a lot cheaper than Skytree but obviously more than the free Shinjuku building.
  24. I visited Odaiba on Monday. These vending machines have a camera to see when people are standing in front of them which changes the image on the screen. I have heard that they recommend different beverages based on the gender/age etc of the people the camera sees e.g. ice tea for grandmothers, cola for young guys etc. Train that goes from Shinbashi to Odaiba, automated with no driver. Great view and it goes over The Rainbow Bridge. They were shooting for an ad or kids show or something at Odaiba. I visited the Miraikan which is a science museum (like the Powerhouse museum in Sydney). It had a turbo that was powerful enough to send stuff into space...boost, is there anything it can't do? Asimo - more fluid in it's movements than I had expected. Model of the earth made up of many small LCD screens. Displayed weather, changing world throughout time etc. Parked in Odaiba.

    Japan Trip 2014

Here is Nissan renta cars English site - http://nissan-rentacar.com/english/ Toyota's http://rent.toyota.co.jp/en/ Times (they uses Mazdas) http://www.timescar-rental.com/ Getting an international driving license (about 5 years ago in NSW) meant visiting the NRMA, showing my licence and paying $25. Easy as can be and I did it on the way to the airport. As far as what to do you are probably better off searching through the myriad of threads in here and looking at the Japan Photo Diaries as you will get a better idea of what to see. Although I will say that if you have any interest in anything related to aquariums and you are in Osaka, Kaiyukan is absolutely amazing.
