  1. Is the meetup time still 3:30pm?
  2. There's one on the south side on logan road in the greenslopes area i think. Haven't been past that way for 6 months though, not sure if it's still in business.
  3. Build quality experience is relative. problem is everyone will talk about the bad car they have, and the 25 other blokes who had a good one won't say a thing. With regards to buying a G6E turbo and doing suspension mods on it to handle better... isn't that defeating the point? it is a luxury spec car afterall, you'd just be ruining the ride quality. better to save money and just get a base spec xr6?
  4. Not really hard. Bigger your car is area wise the larger the sideways force you get for the wind*. So more weight is good if you don't increase surface area. Hence why cars like suzuki serria's or busses which have a lot of open space inside are worse, and something like a truck carrying sheets of metal on a flat tray would be best. *of course, some cars will probably be slightly more aerodynamic sideways than others, but probably not much
  5. Could be for emissions more than for performance at a guess.
  6. Falcons in high wind areas are fine, its lighter cars with high cross sectional areas that aren't, like my old serria. Now that was... interesting.. to drive in the wind, though only really on multiple lane roads. Wind was never enough to push you far enough to knock you over the edge though, but it is annoying when it pushes you towards the guy driving next to you down the freeway. The '97 falcon we had did feel like you were sailing a boat in regards to steering response, but it wasn't a XR version, but otherwise it was good to drive, very 'lazy'. Apart from the falcon and the serria, we also have the line, obviously, aswell as a 2010 corolla which is all round not the best car in the world to drive, a 1967.5 Datsun fairlady, which is pretty much to cramped for me to drive, and a 1989 suzuki swift GTI with new suspension and some basic engine improvements. All 6 are all very different cars, and apart from the corolla, all have their good points. However, their probably not good to do a "FWD vs RWD" comparison... because despite having a different drive type, all the cars are different types to eachother anyway. Different sizes, different weights, different engines, different suspensions and different purposes.
  7. Errr... After the R34's, they continued on the "skyline" badge in the form of the v35, and the v36 then replaced that in the last few years. That, along with the 350/70z, forms the "lower spec rwd" model your looking at (v35-6 series has a range of engine and spec options). To that effect, the R35 GTR is not a skyline. Nowhere does it say it is.
  8. That expensive here? jesus christ.
  9. Having watched some NASCAR circut (not oval) racing, i think this'll go down well with the yanks. the NASCAR's (seem) excruciatingly slow around corners, the V8's might liven it up a bit more.
  10. What he said, was basically what i was thinking. I understand the limitations you have with testing this, that's why i was just asking a question in general, not really stating that you should do xx and yy.
  11. Question:, is running the GTX at the same boost pressure as the other turbo a true 'fair' comparison? I mean... for example if your comparing a gt2871 with a gt4088 you don't leave them at the same boost.
  12. wasn't till about '04 when you had to have a licence to buy bullets.
  13. Spent the last 4 and a bit hours reformating my PC after the HDD seemingly became corrupted. Luckily i don't keep uni stuff on this PC, so whats lost is just a personal inconvienence. Still, not a bad time for reformatting a PC considering I had to find the install disc and dick around getting it to register (note: doens't like it when your system clock is wrong).
  14. I dont' think i'd want to go back to ye old days of farming. I quite like modern medicine.
  15. I could be spending this lovely winters day crusing up moutains north of the city. Or at a carshow that had over 250 japanese cars show up. But instead i've been cooped up inside studying. bloody exams. Least i'm a pro at using the cover up method of partial fractions now.woo.
  16. I thought 5 speed auto was standard for '32's, or was it only a factory update option?
  17. No ice cream tonight, i've got an 8am exam tommorow. bloody exams
  18. I'd be up for a stripping day... But yeah, i hear you. Insurance doesn't cover the time spent getting a car just right, doing all the litle things that make it good to you.
  19. How about a fish tank, 3 gps units, 2 iphones that don't work and a moutain bike inner tire tube?
  20. If i wasn't on the cruise i'd be there. A much reccomended carshow.
