  1. http://eclipse.usp.net/motorstock/middlehu...o.cfm?frmID=177 Definitely NOT an official Japanese '03 model. How can it be one of the two '03 models if it's #53 of an official 80 numbered UK spec cars? It's an '03 UK plate for sure but it looks like a Japanese '99 Series 1 which has been modified to 'UK spec'. Sure it's got 25km on it... it's spent the last few years under wraps. The front indicators are still orange and it's not one of the items changed. T.
  2. Holey shit!!! I never have guessed that he would be occupying all 4 seats in the space of a few seconds T.
  3. The reason why VL Turbos use 7.9:1 or whatever is that there was only 91 octane unleaded back then and hi comp motors were just not common back then. T.
  4. If you throw enough money at any GT-R you can make it better than an N1. But there were only 228 real R32 GT-R N1 Skylines. There were thousands of plain GT-Rs. The rarity value is what makes it expensive. I would imagine the Japanese do not want to relinquish their N1s seeing as that they are so prized by collectors and race people. T.
  5. Well it's not unheard of here Rezz. I still remember ages ago as a kid on a school excursion tour of Mt. Panorama. 10 mins to lap the big mountain and a running commentary. T.
  6. Which two bastards own the 2003 delivered GT-Rs??? I guess they're in a Nissan museum or private collection never to turn over more than say delivery miles! T.
  7. The 33 was sandwiched in traffic when a truck rear ended it. It looks like it lost a meter or so in length T.
  8. John Munro's old bayside R34 did a 272kW at the wheels but there was a PowerFC involved IIRC. Seems about right and quite a huge amount of horsepower for what is a reasonably stock motor. T.
  9. This just came to my mind as I've been driving my folks to the airport (in their Mercedes!) for package tours overseas. Usually a mix of middle aged Asian-Australians and white Australians with a guide usually in a minibus over parts of Asian, North America, Europe. Sure they have a good time, seems a bit 'overplanned' if you know what I mean. It just came to me that such a thing geared towards Japanese performance car enthusiasts would be great. I can imagine even places in Europe and the US this would work. ie. Bowling Green Kentucky Corvette Museum. The Skyline museum. The various racetracks like Suzuka? Tsukuba... who the hell doesn't want to at least visit Tsukuba I think there is something there. T.
  10. This was written up in HPI a while back. The price on the M-Spec was something like twice the going rate for a good V-Spec II! I'd imagine a genuine Nur would be even more. T.
  11. You're only allowed to drive the car to and from the garage to do pink, green slips, pay your rego. etc. etc. ie. trips to get your rego. And the police will follow you all the way to your destination if they so desire. T.
  12. The W1NNAR is actually some famous Hong Kong pop/tv star who had a 'watch this br0' moment. I remember because it was in the Chinese papers and my olds brang it up with me... Even rolled 5 times it still has the unmistakeable Skyline 'air' about its person T.
  13. Yeah I'm interested in someone who can do full interior clean and plastics refurbishing. I got some major scratches on the door trims etc. T.
  14. Brett did a PB (personal best!). I will leave it to him to wave the RB25 flag and give the figure himself There was a late challenger... a certain red R31/RB26/T51R coupe but it didn't come near Brett. All in all a pleasant but long day finishing somewhere past 7pm. T.
  15. Most people realise that 'performance cars' tend to wind up in the 'too hard' basket. T.
  16. Not speeding again in a Daewoo is a fair enough punishment. I also had that happen to me. I got written up with one of those hand written tickets and I didn't bother paying. The blue reminder notice never came. I've had it where they sent one notice and they never sent any further. I asked them to look up my record and there wasn't any note than anything was issued. If they send 2, 3 or more notices well then obviously mean business. T.
  17. Who would you willing hand your keys? Take a guess. Maybe you've done it before. It's incredibly lucky to get the car back intact. T.
  18. Yeah but Sydneykid... ya gotta admit that for "full on in effekt bling bling", the Greddy plenum looks sweet on any Skyline.... I question the effacy esp. on a GT-R. Oh yeah I paid for full port and polish but stuck with the OEM gasket. T.
  19. This is the one I like: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=1544 And there's no question that the motor is right. Also who has pics of the Uras monkey magic R34??? KKK Blitz powered. It's the most well known 4 door. T.
  20. The bottom line is the system is set up so that a 60 ticket in a 50 zone is not contestible and esp. not for the price of the fine itself. Minor mistakes will not affect the validity of the ticket if big mistakes are ignored. I'll gladly admit that when I go thru your average 50 zone, I won't be doing 50 and from the way I see Skylines being driven, I'm not alone. T.
  21. Organised tours in most parts of Asian and the Americans and European are popular for Asian types in Australia. In fact you can walk into any of the Asian holiday agents in Chinatown and you can get holidays in Sing-Mar-Tai (ie. Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand) which includes accomodation and food for the entire tour. Are there such things for Japan? Esp. if you visit TAS, Upgarage etc. T.
  22. These are off a R34 GTt which is 5 stud 114.3 PCD? Like this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=30303 T.
  23. Are these all four? Mate I'll take them no problems. I can arrange courier. T.
  24. Yes but what do you say about someone who speeds on a freeway vs. someone who speeds near a bus shelter (near a school? shopping centre? a pub?). I was out driving with a friend in a Porsche and this guy was hammering it hard in a shopping centre and outside a crowded university. Mate I have no problem with someone hitting it up at 150+ on a highway. I might have a problem with someone doing a 2nd gear redline corner outside a place where someone might be minding their own business waiting for a bus. Or maybe doing a similar high speed run outside a pub or pre-school if that's ever so topical now. T.
  25. You can't honestly believe that enthusiasts would buy Skylines and not ever exceed the arbitrary limit or sometimes get close to or over the limit of the chassis. Even in the dry (let alone the wet) it's dead simple to overcook it slightly and get the car to oversteer. The average profile of the Skyline driver is not going to match say an Avalon for example. The amount of bent Skylines you see is a result of the way the cars are expected to be driven. People make mistakes but most aren't as wilful as hitting a bus shelter. That sounds a like a 'watch this bro' moment. T.
