  1. The stock PC is no good once you've 'rooted' the car with 550cc injectors, z32, q45 etc. etc. T.
  2. It also depends strongly on the RTA office you choose. QUITE OBVIOUSLY if you pick the ones in the busy shopping centres, you're gonna get screwed. You need to find the ones hidden in industrial areas (where the truckies are). I never had to wait at Mascot/Rosebery, Silverwater is ok. MACQUARIE CENTRE IS FAARRKED! But as if you'd drive a Skyline there anyway... T.
  3. Ummm... front end's nice. Rear end is... there's no words to describe the lack of taste. The Corvette has always had a nice rear end, just like Skylines. This wrecks it. T.
  4. Hmmm... I would imagine there's no enough paper on the planet to print out all our driving records. Mine would be.... something I don't want to see. T.
  5. My C's shifter works the same as the day it was installed. Check it out though - it could damage your box. I kinda find it funny how so many of us have the shifters and the common toys T.
  6. Maybe the $100 coloured plates? The RTA is a pain in the bumhole. I call in work time (may as well). Tell me colleagues I may be gone for a while and pack a lunch. You have to be prepared. The more you know their procedure, the more you can present the right documents when they need it. They are process workers like any other bureacracy and you're just a number (literally) so take it easy on the counter staff. I would imagine it's the same in every country because you keep hearing about the DMV ("Patty and Selma") and the MoT on TV shows. One day though... when the revolution happens, they'll be first up against the wall. T.
  7. Email me a docket. May as well get this done reasonably soon. T.
  8. Andrew, your dinner is paid for. I'll be there - it's been too long. Someone bring a camera? T.
  9. I'll take the two helmets. PM me and I'll pickup. T.
  10. wtfff!!! That's a goddamn rice box. Stickers everywhere. Rice interior. HKS pod. Strut Bar. Drift damage and an RB20E. I thought I seen it all. T.
  11. Looks a cut above the avg. kit car. Like it very much. Fast too with a fully hopped up Spoon-ified B22B. T.
  12. The GT-R is gun metal. That's the one. I reckon the Iron Chef should have an all JAV Bukkake Race Queen judging panel. oh. and "the GT-R can nevar loose" even if it comes 2nd every so often... T.
  13. Are they sister shows? Every time I see Iron Chef, the American voiceover and general 'milleau' reminds me of Best Motoring videos. btw. please find this: BestMotoring_JDM_vs_SuperCars.avi 70Mb R34 vs. Evo vs. turbo 911 vs. 360 Modena vs. NSX Zero R Some extreme driving! T.
  14. But it's still 'wrong wheel drive' isn't it? T.
  15. That sort of bodykit is not suited to Sydney roads. I prefer a more stealthy type look. For no apparent reason they've put up roundabouts and islands in parts of suburban Sydney and it's hazardous to fiberglass. Plus I always do stuff like hop curbs. T.
  16. A popular one is the Mines 'fiddled' ECU. They cannot be altered except by the workshop it came from. In most cases going back to a stock or FC is the best option. Although it looks like your ECU is rigged to work with a custom fuel pump. T.
  17. Volk Gr.C? Newer style. The older has thicker spokes. T.
  18. Like many of you guys, SAU is a once a day, once evey 48 hours fetish. So I visit the other Skylines sites every so often, GTR.UK, SNSW, SDU etc. Now this is what I find astonishing. It's not exactly a technical question. The Americans must have some experience with this as they've been running turbo cars to varying degrees of success since the 70s/80s like the Buick Grand National. So I found it astonishing that people who know what they are talking about developing RB26 motors to do "400-500 hp at the wheels on 91 PUMP GAS". Of course anyone in Australia would find that laughable. How is that possible? I would not even dream of running a stock RB26 on the 91 octane dishwater even in an emergency situation... oh. btw. these guys are from RBmotoring, Motorex, Nismo American so it's not some hick from Arkansas. T.
  19. I've been able to talk my way out of a number of 'pull overs'. As long as you aren't doing something blatantly stupid. Once I was pulled up by two young constables. They said they followed me thru three roundabouts and I didn't brake for any of them. I gave it some going up a hill. You know how hard it is to lug a Skyline up a hill in 2nd in a 50 zone. Two cars in front of me were doing silly buggers. One guy overtook on a double yellow, one braked suddenly without indicating. I was more interested in the antics up above than the VY behind. So he pulls me up and tells me he needed to do 75km/h to keep up with me. I said 'ok'. What can you say? He said I should brake in corners because even if I don't brake and stay below 50 in a 50 zone, you could slide out Keiichi Tsuchiya style. I said 'ok'. I said I was watching the two dickheads up ahead playing silly buggers up ahead but obviously a Camry and Corolla dicing it up is no match for a Skyline going thru a roundabout at 50km/h. They say they watch out for high performance cars in this area as they are high theft risks so they pull people over just to check ownership. I say 'ok already, I'm ***kin' late for dinner!!!' They let me go to meet up at Lane Cove Restarant for the last TNS steak nite. Oh and here's a pic: http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/r33_profile.jpg It's big. T.
  20. According to http://www.rbmotoring.com/gtr32.html 02/03/93 Minor change Late model. V-spec added Rear dif cover fin removed Clutch modified (push -> pull) Synchronizers modified Brembo caliper added(V-spec) ETS program modified(V-spec) Tires changed (V-spec: 225/50-17) BBS mesh special wheel (V-spec) # N1 model gets to based on V-spec I would imagine that $30,000 landed would be about what you'd pay for a clean, sub 100,000km 1993 GT-R V-Spec. T.
  21. Well there are one or two cars that have carbon fibre bonnets that are legal (I think the R34 GT-R N1 is legal) so like anything, if it's OEM and passed crash testing, it's fine. But since we all have dodgy 'Made In China' bonnets from Carmate etc. - I wouldn't say they are technically legal. You can get defected for them and I guess rightly so. I've had lots of cops look over my carbon fibre bonnet (some them covetedly!) and they never asked me about it. Carbon/fibre panels are unlikely to be defected as they are painted up and they look just like the OEM panels. The cops won't bother to run a magnet over your guards. T.
  22. I had to give my mum a lift and it was a choice btw. the Magna, the Merc and my R33. So I took the 33. It's a longish drive over several suburbs so if you're gonna go, make it a good one. So I have a blinding drive over, nice and empty in the middle of the night. The night air is good for the FMIC. Pick up me mum and as I'm turning right at a Tee Junction, two cars come over on my right obviously very fast... one second it's clear, next second it's two cars going flat chat at my driver's door... So fark it - hit it hard in 2nd, there's a big chirp as the turbo comes on hard but not big enough so my mum complains. Anyway back to slow cruise so my mum doesn't get deafened by the boost, exhaust, induction noise. So I notice this car following me. I'm in an 80 zone so I gun it up to 80 or so. The cop puts on lights AND sirens. Obviously he thinks my 33 is gonna run. He says I was speeding, the classic "In a hurry mate?" I says I wasn't. Then he changes tack. He says I did a burnout out of that corner. I say if I didn't do a burn he'd be scraping me off the front of that Landcruiser. I just got scared and I said I wouldn't do burnouts with my mum there. He says he thought oncoming traffic was going a bit fast. So he gets my license and runs me thru his computer. I don't care. I got 12 points and I'm clean. Car has just been rego'ed and no defects. I'm packing it because I think he's gonna defect me for my carbon bonnet, exhaust and all the other doo-hickeys. That would be embarrassing to get a canary with your mum there. All the time my mum is saying "Tony is a good boy. He's a good driver. He never speed". Yeah ok. that's an out and out lie He sits in the car for a while. I think he working out if he can get to Krispy Kreme before closing. Finally he comes up to my door and says 'ok fair enough, just be careful out there'. :headspin: T.
  23. You don't need to go to Japan. From memory Keir Wilson and John Munro use torque splitters to work out how much they want to go front and back. T.
  24. Only the 32 allows you to just pull a fuse. The 33 requires a torque splitter like a HKS ETC. I honestly think that perhaps something like an R33 GTSt w/ RB26DETT conversion might be a goer as well. T.
