  1. Is this why they're only $89 I guess NSW will be going digital soon. T.
  2. I'm sure someone here owns this car: http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/r33gts-t.html Can someone explain to me what changing to this style of MSD ignition gives you versus the coil packs we use? I see this distributor cap things on old Falcons and stuff - what advantage do you have changing them from coil packs? T.
  3. It's not really a question of good or bad but rather the way that all automotive companies are heading towards more conservative designs mechanically and aesthetically. I mean I never thought I would live to see the day that Honda would be building a pickup truck. Nissan think that ATTESSA is best used in 4wd SUV's! I strongly believe that the Japanese performance car industry took a big change in September 2002 and that in reality, we've been very lucky in the periods 1989-2002. 2003 to 2008 (?) is different era - perhaps N/A, hybrids, turbo Commdores? But we're being asked to swallow this z33/v35 body style and the VQ series motors. It's too big a change for me so far. In two years maybe we'll have accepted it. But who knows. Maybe we'll have Series 3 turbo Falcons and Commodore V6's. T.
  4. The question on many peoples' minds is whether the $89 scanner from DSE can pick up police? T.
  5. That black one slammed on the Te37's isn't bad. I think Nissan are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Renault and this move towards N/A cars with their rounded styling isn't exactly to my liking. I think the family resemblance thing is going too far. It's too bad a leap for me really. You can sorta see the progression from 32-33-34 but just like how the 32 was something quantum over the 31 maybe given time, we'll see the 35 in the same way. Just not right now in 2003! T.
  6. Here's my bit for SAU Community Service: http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/mines1.jpg http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/mines2.jpg http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/mines3.jpg http://www.nitroware.net/~tony/mines4.jpg They're big but it's readable. The pics are kinda odd though with strange moire, pincussion/screendoor artifects but this is a cheap Acer scanner. T.
  7. I'm sure there's plenty of places around that'll take your money. This is a good starter thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=30517 The HPI R34 project that's been a standard of conversion here is also a good idea of where to begin. 292rwkW was the last figure but I think they spent quite a bit more than what you got, I'm not trying to put you down, it's just that 250rwkW is a 'realistically economical' goal but then the money spent starts to spiral. T.
  8. 270kW for 1.65 bar (24 psi) is running the candle just a little too hot for my liking. T.
  9. Can I ask which aftermarket manifold you're using? Also do you have internals? T.
  10. I strongly doubt the T5 can reach 280k. The 2.3 turbo five does something like 250hp and 330Nm. With the blunt dynamics it'll take much more pressure to hit 280. I don't think a stock 32/33/34 GT-R will reach 280 and these are bullets compared to the T5. T.
  11. coil packs? If you need to borrow some, contact me. T.
  12. Hmm... Only seen a handful of these mongrel cars. I've always wondered what these things ride like let alone drive. Whoever bought this one bought a bargain. An ugly bargain nonetheless: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=1084 T.
  13. If you've driven a Skyline, you'd driven a Stagea. Of course a 260 would be pretty much like a GT-R. But look at it this way... A standard Stagea has the Skyline floorplan and similar suspension. But it weights 150kg more. It has the same brakes off the N/A model. Distribution is a bit off. Obviously you will need 33/34 GTSt/GTt parts to be able to bring it up to the same spec as the turbo coupe. T.
  14. Is it true that most of these are automatic? That puts a dampener on things. But say an RS-Four with an attessa electric torque controller and a fully worked RB25DET... yep T.
  15. Take it easy fellas. You know they just want to provoke a reaction. They'd like nothing better at the end of the day than to have some Skyline owners register on their forum for the sole purpose of defending their rides. The bottom line is that we're driving the cars that win on the track, strip, street and dynos. And they're still driving shopping trolleys and their mum's cars. Every type of car has their haters. I'm sure the WRX boys have had this sort of 'love' before us. T.
  16. Tell 'em the price son! I got one already though. T.
  17. It's Type-S. You can get a reasonable size FMIC under there. Just need to cut a lot of plastic. T.
  18. Hmmm... That big plate is something I've never seen before. I have the same rear bar and black connecting end brackets on my 33. I'm gonna turf all the rear felt walls. T.
  19. Yeah see I went the other way... stock N1 gasket but N1 pistons which runs a similar CR. Many ways to skin a cat. T.
  20. Blitz SBC is an expensive controller though. I use an AVC-R and it pretty much fits your requirements. T.
  21. I have GT-R N1 pistons in my RB25DET. I'm unsure what CR it is even but they seem to work ok and there's no doubt that the tolerances of Nissan pistons, rings, gaskets etc. etc. make for a very tight, smooth running motor. T.
  22. Is the stock cast one any good? I wonder if there's any tubular manifolds for internal wastegate turbos or is the stock one fine for say sub 250rwkW purposes? T.
  23. About a decade separates the design of these two turbos. Apparently if you're willing to cut and shut your VG30 and your RB25 turbo, you can get a hybrid that runs ok. T.
  24. I don't pretend to know how to pick a turbine for your application but this should help: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...p/downloads.jsp And be advised that some are plain bearing. T.
  25. Werd. Never park a high performance car in the majority of shopping centres in Sydney. Not even 'relatively' safe ones like Hornsby and Carlingford. T.
