  1. No the price is about right. Apparently the best Supras are say 95/96 - ie. brakes have been upgraded and it's pre-VVTi which means you can mod it more freely. T.
  2. Well you know I have to be the devils advocate... This is a S1 1993. It has not good brakes. It's heavy. It's pretty hopeless on the track without mods. T.
  3. $250 + $700 welding etc. Doesn't make much economic sense IMO. T.
  4. The 93 - 94 has a dark enamelled black boot lock. The 95 - 98 has a brushed metal finished lock. T.
  5. HPI is very very Skyline biased though. AS far as they're concerned an issue without a Skyline is not an issue of HPI. T.
  6. LOL I didn't think about it that way. I thought of it as buying RB26 bits by piecemeal - ie. $1,200+ for cams, plenum + TB + head... the list gets long and expensive. T.
  7. It doesn't. The 26 ECU has the i/o to control two of everything. However the 26 PowerFC is about the same price as the 25 FC ECU. IMO trying to make the RB25 into a hybrid RB26 is not worth it (I mean if you got the cash and patient more power to you). However I see myself in an RB26 sooner rather than later so I don't want to convert this 25 into a 26 by proxy. T.
  8. The problem I see is not in the RB26 head - that in itself is not too expensive, however all the other stuff you need at the same time is probably the expensive bit. You can't exactly get the head and slap on all your RB25 ancilliaries. T.
  9. Kristian is Supraman off these forums. T.
  10. Two bolts either side of the guards. Should be one central bolt in the grille. Two indicator lines. T.
  11. The problem with the Supra is that it's designed for the US market with all the disadvantages that entails. The GT-R was always a tightly focussed JDM only design and this single mindedness lead to the leader you see today. T.
  12. A crash of this nature is a big shock to your system. I was rear ended and I got whiplash. You need to make it known that you were dazed and confused, perhaps in shock and your initial statements may have been coerced by the police. But afterwards after some medical advise you are sure of the facts and you have workmates who can back you up. T.
  13. Also strangely enough the GT-R has the weight advantage. You know the R32 goes in at 1,430kg. It is reasonably easy to get the R33 down to under 1,500kg. T.
  14. The Supra just does not have the heritage of the Skyline. The Supra does have the capacity, the bottom end and the stock components are of a higher 'load' for modification. ie. the injectors do not need to upgraded. But the turbos are sequential (not good more modding hence the big singles) and it is RWD only. The Getrag box is ok but not as strong as the GT-R box. Thing is - capacity is something the GT-R can always get with 2.7/2.8 and 3.0 kits available. The motor in the Supra is square so I'd imagine it'll always be a bit more torquey than the Skyline. T.
  15. Ask for the names of the police witnesses. Ask for them now before they can make it up. Make it known on record that you are SURE you had lights on and were doing 50km/h. This old fart in the Camry is getting a free ride. T.
  16. This car is auto only right? And it weighs in at 1,920kg dry?? And it's $95,000??? Okay. Doesn't add up IMO. T.
  17. More like cops are just lazy and jump to conclusions IN THIS CASE. I was involved in a three car accident ages ago - not my fault on the initial report. But the other two drivers had no insurance, so guess who they pinned it on??? T.
  18. Handling on my car is slightly worse than it used to be. On my car at least, it's a bit of a double edged sword. There's 12 or 16 levels of adjustment. The ride used to be harsh but zero body roll. Now it's soft and pliable but rolls a fair bit. So maybe the bars might fix that to some degree. T.
  19. Simple. It's called c*ck in hand syndrome. T.
  20. I think the whiteline bars are $400 - $500 front and rear. The thing is that I don't want to make the car grossly uncomfortable so I don't want urethane/nolathane bushes. I got the shocks and strut bars. There's still some money to be spent on brakes as well. Car is fine and I have a boring 1,000km run in to look forward to. T.
  21. I'm not actually too shure what sway bars do but I don't have them and might look into them. T.
  22. btw. I honestly don't think these 'carbon fiber' bonnets we get here are really baked in an oven (autoclave?) - real carbon needs to be laid down in a weave and cured by heat. And yes I have one of these because you have to represent the rice T.
  23. $400+ That's the rub. Custom piping could be expensive. T.
  24. stronger... T.
  25. The GT-R cooler is a great relatively inexpensive solution. It cools good, looks stealth and IMO is as good as A/M units. T.
