  1. what is the strength diference between the x bar that has 1 bar cut and welded around the other (like that v8 one), and the two bent bars with the gussett (like niels car, and WRC cages) My logic would say a WRC would built to withstand bigger impacts, as side impacts are usually with a small diamiter tree (compated to being t boned by a car)
  2. if you have a modern ecu (motec, haltch, auronic...etc) the dash can be fed data via the CAN bus. Only needs 1 plug for power and data. I run all m sensors into my Haltec, and display and log it on the dash. those dashes are the ducks nuts. can you option in backlighting after purchasing it? motec like doing stuff like that.
  3. mac fail. PC's have a porn mode now, so no reason for a mac. anyway... got the car fired up today, no leaks thankfully. Only 1-2 things to tidy up. Not long before it'll be on the road.
  4. those dashes are pretty expensive before you spec them up. What car did it come out of?
  5. Test fitted the exhaust, hugs the body pretty close so it shouldn't get ripped off. Lower lip for the front bar got donated by his older brother. I had to do some trimming to fit the cooler piping. Hopfully it should fire tomorrow
  6. The local cars all run series 1 doors, which are 10kg lighter than series 2 doors (no intrusion bars). For Targa you really need working windows, as your passing things in and out of them at the start and finish of the stages
  7. A local track R32 is down to 1190kg, that's with an extensive cage. It's stripped as light as you can go with Targa regs, but it's still got a gtst bonnet. So 1176 with gtr bonnet? I'd guess 1280 would be about it on a R33, with it's gearbox, and extra body bracing. If we could run carbon doors it'd make a huge difference. Woosters R32 was about 1240kg, and i'm aiming for under 1200kg with mine. Alot easier to do with a flimsy R32 and little gearbox. a 12l dry sump would be heavier than a wet sump.

  9. only just got round to reading this. Have you been keeping up to date with the Targa rules? us double wishbone people are now 'officialy' allowed to run adjustible upper arms . Why arn't you running a GT-R body kit? It's a cheap light weight bonnet. What weight are you aiming for?
  10. time for an update. Mainly been doing odds and ends. But the engine is ready to start, it's full of oil and coolent... but i'm missing an oil drain for the turbo, so untill i get one i can't start it unless i want a big pool of oil. I put the wing into the carbon boot. it's getting closer to ripping a skid
  11. you basing this off a 52 seater? Front or rear engine? It looks to be a longer bus than most people use, what car are you putting in it.
  12. need turbo oil drain, where you located?
  13. so your one of the few that can get their hands on a RX8 SP
  14. Yeah it only laps Symmons in consistant 57 sec laps... but still 2 secs a lap away from YT and his super alfabet
  15. apparently not, a r32 that races does here with 400+ rwkw has the same setup, been running for a few years now with no probs.

    Wheel Sale.

he's a drifto'er, they only buy in pairs
  17. Finally got the car back, I got evicted from Dad's so it's in a new home. Decent amount of wheel travel Picked up my alloy hats, and attached them to my rotors.
  18. I was looking at getting one of those intercoms for my gtst, interested to see how it goes.
  19. i forgot the internets is serious business. But seriosly if you start a thread build around the fact that your a girl (recently single at that) on a male based forum you will get people posting things like "are you hot", "pics or gtfo"..etc. It's only meant for a laugh If you have an issue with your car, and need help, just search or ask. There are heaps of blokes who know nothing about cars, so being a recently single girl is irrelivant. And most of all, have a laugh
  20. IP is just full of turbo hating old farts who want to race in the same cars they created the catagory for. Last weekend was the final round of IP for the year... there were 0 entries. Apparently 700+ hp is OK, as long as it's a V8.
  21. don't worry, we still have louse and vetool to bouce of cars coming through traffic
  22. are you hot?
  23. now that's a plan!
  24. STAT! Spring gear rocked up friday, but i didn't have time to drop them off to finish the fitting
  25. Tyres will be a hard choice next year. Running eariler, and not being able to change tyres for free (at this stage), I don't think the Dunlop M's will last for my car. From memory the 050 M is the same as the 03G R, and the 050 S is the same as the 03G M
