  1. I wish they hadn't banned testing, i'm sure testing would help the new teams be closer to the back of the group-a pack. How long will it be before an experimental part causes a huge accident when it fails. Like the sauber wings ealier in the year
  2. oh no's, how will all those Targa spec emo's on my105 sell now? Anyone know if Weeksy is converting to the super turefo spec's?
  3. is that for high contry?
  4. i've got rb26 ITB and plenum on my 20, and the port sizes are pretty diferent between the two. But my car is still in build, so i havn't got to test the engine yet.
  5. the solid lifter kit is bloody deer isn't it?
  6. do you run full pace notes? or just a roadbook? You pull up ok after the hit, looked pretty big.
  7. RB20 Forged, and RB20DE+t Forged. How do you work it out? just get it to knock at a low load with the kmon? Slight off topic question, can you run the kmon from aux power? or will it only work from the laptop?
  8. West coast is bad for coverage, even for nextg. Damo and I planned the westcost service stops with the Telstra network map
  9. I used carby cleaner to remove the last bits of sound deadener. Makes you high as a kite, but works
  10. Once you get to know some poeple that are competing. You'll never do the event unsupported. There are plenty of people about that will help you out/carry tools and fuel.
  11. how to the gay arse ipra rules handle twin charging? Just the one 36mm restrictor... not that it would have much effect on the 930cc of fury
  12. na he's still a fag, it's just that vetool has joined him now
  13. are the rails rusted? There are so many R32's that look good in photo's, and turn out to be a rusted mess in real life. I bet once you pull those rear 1/4 pods off you'll just have 2 big rust holes. How come your not keeping the work rims?
  14. it's no surprise that there are heaps of tarmac rally cars registered in tassie, even though they live on the mainland.
  15. how heavy are 300zx doors? they feel about 13 tonnes when you open them.
  16. Depends on your state, in Tassie people have got their car SI'd (equivilent to rally rego) with only a AASA rally licence. Dad got the R33 put over the pits and rego'd in full Targa trim (cage and all). You'll have to check with people in your state, but Tassie's SI is pretty relaxed (appareny it's going to get clamped down), but we can drive to and from racing events, and drive the car on the road for testing perposes
  17. there is bugger all weight in the guts of the doors. The side intrusion bar is the only thing worth taking out. I've gutted a R32 door, and the window and mechanism weigh all of 1-2kg, and all the steel that was cut out was 1kg, they were a series one door. The only thing worth removing is the side intrusion bar (if you have one) as they are about 10kg per side on a two door, And if you gut them you need to still put some plates or steel cable back in to stop the door from sagging
  18. It's hard to get motivated when it's cold. I measured the suspension up today. Rear is easy to get good travel on. The front doesn't have alot of room for travel, you can only get about 60mm of travel at 345mm ride hight before the upper arm goes through the top of the tower. I'll reserch and play round with the ride hights on paper before i order the shocks
  19. how come you went with a bitsa suspension, and not just get R32 shocks?
  20. and in other news damo has been seen in the bushes around primary schools. I've had a paint sceme in mind for a while now... and it's not painted like an animal, cars painted like animals look stupid, dad proved that.
  21. Best way to read the regs is to print them out, and highlight all the parts that are applicable to you, and re-read, and re-read. And if you think you have a creative interpreatation run it past stu, and he'll tell you if your cleaver or not. As far as a cage, just get one built to CAMS specs, as that will easily cover you for and AASA events, and CAMS events. You also need a internal and external isolation switch.
  22. Hasn't been advertised yet, currently running the engine in, and finishing it off. the SS LMS and MS is dictated by standard speed. My Gtst can run MS as it's slow to start with, a GT-R isn't slow to start with. a R35 is realy fast to start with, so it's in SS
  23. You'll need to swap the -7's for R32 N1's if you want to use your car. The GT-R falls into the Early Modern LMS catagory. My105 is a great place to look for cars. Dad is just about to sell a R33 N1 replica with a fresh crate N1 engine and turbos. You won't want to be learning the car in a big event like Targa. If you just want to compete, you should get a car you know, and enjoy to drive
