  1. If it's leaking through the sender; it's time to replace it. Give it a good degrease and make sure that it's not running down the outside.
  2. Spotted a Silver C34 pulling away from a park in Emu Plains when I was pulling up. My young bloke saw a tractor in the park; so that's where we were going (with a minor detour to the Nissan dealer first).
  3. Adam, the Stagea looks brilliant mate. Wheels look awesome.
  4. Ok, I'll get on it shortly. Ryan; I do; but I've had very little spare time recently. The next month should see things settling down, and I can focus on this.
  5. The one that I got from Scotty seems fine so far, the only downside to the surface mount thermocouple is just that; it's not in the water. It does seem accurate; the issue will be ensuring it reads the water temp correctly. Something with a BSP style thermocouple would be ideal though. I'm running each fan with its own fused 30A relay (only running 20A fuse per fan though), then triggering those with another relay activated by the controller. The kit comes with a 60A relay to use; but after seeing my supposedly 40A relay and it's wiring cop a hiding recently; doing them separately is better for peace of mind (unlikely to pop both fuses). I'd also look at putting a barrier in the shroud between the two fans, so that if you want to switch them separately; you can. Also, if one fails you won't be pulling dead air through the other fan and back out; rather than through the radiator.
  6. Sure does mate, but not before I'd given it a good stern swearing at. The good news is; the thermocouple appears pretty accurate. I wanted to test it on it's lowest setting (70deg) and it still hadn't cut in at 85 deg; so I thought something was amiss. Swore for a bit, then switched it off & had another go; the important bit was setting the dip switch to allow the dips to adjust; not the button. Due to the clear, concise directions; I'm not sure how I missed that bit. Going to run it with the thermocouple on the rad and see how it performs; I may end up moving elsewhere.
  7. Would be a third run actually. I've got a bunch of ends machined; I just need to buy some more tube. Any other takers?
  8. Fitted the temp controller I bought from Scotty this arvo; after a bit of rewiring, I now have fan control. Also threw my rear brace on ; but haven't driven far enough to feel the difference yet.
  9. Also good to see Sissis, and Westy doing well; you could hear the cheers erupting from the crowd at Siberia. Damn right about Pedrosa; wasn't going to beat Lorenzo, and Stoner couldn't bridge the gap, so why even bother... Great racer attitude. Never felt so justified in hating the arrogant little Ken doll.
  10. +1 for what Scotty said. Also, if you repeatedly get a shudder in a rotor after 5000 -10,000km; definitely look at wheel bearings.
  11. Back to the pits after that pissy little slide? What a sook.
  12. Go Casey!
  13. LOL, classic! Only problem is, if you dipped in a C34; you'd pull out an M35...
  14. Bonnet up works; my cat started using my bonnet as a bed, left it up at night for a few weeks, cat found somewhere else warm to sleep. Started leaving bonnet down; cat still sleeps in his new spot.
  15. Just about every Nissan I've ever owned has done this.
  16. It wasn't too bad really; some trimming of the radiator support, and some heavy modding of the fan shroud. The big issue was the top mounts, I ended up fabbing some offset mounts to allow the top to sit about 15mm further back. It's a thick core though...
  17. Yep; how good are gearbox lifts!
  18. Yep; I've heard of so many people having to rip them back out, to re-do the ties. Not interested.
  19. Meh, he only drove it about 2 km; not much thrashing in that distance... I knew it was only going to be $100- $150, with a boot at $30-$40; it wasn't worth my while. I'd rather save money on things I actually enjoy doing. Like turbo changes...
  20. Had my D/S inner CV boot replaced today; it split a couple of weeks ago. Had a bit of a chat with the CV guy, as he hadn't ever seen a Stagea; so wasn't sure what he'd need to charge. Quoted a top end of $200; but said it would probably be less. Get a call about 2 hours later; cars finished! Then I get "Holy fark mate, what the hell is the go with that car? Took a little test drive to make sure everything was ok, pulled out the driveway, and nearly ended up in the back seat!" Ended up chatting about the car for about 45 mins when I picked it up; he couldn't believe Nissan never brought it to Aus, same deal as everyone else that has driven it. He was looking forward to Nissan belting the other V8's with that "Quad cam beast of a motor". He told me they'd gone right over it when it was on the hoist; couldn't believe how well built it was. Ended up charging me $100 for the job, and that I was welcome to bring it back any time...
  21. Spotted 2 Stageas today; both C34's. Silver with stock rims going past Penrith station carpark, (Belmore st), and a white C34 with 20's pulling into the Plaza carpark, from Jane st. Love the look of the 20's. Was in a mates Swift, so not much point waving...
  22. There's no point doing stupid shit if no-one ever hears about it. Welcome to the club.
  23. Have you checked all your globes (get someone to look at the LHS globes while you flick the stalk ) V35's don't use a flasher can or relay; I believe they have a module in the cluster that control the blinkers. My blinkers would do this when I towed my trailer; it used incandescent globes, and the resistance was too high. Changed to LED trailer lights; everything was fine. Perhaps you have a blown globe or a corroded globe holder?
