  1. This is the first i've seen of this thread, and I CBF reading through the entire 4 pages.... I had a similar problem with my x-trail. It happened as soon as I messed with the engine management. Have you modified your car at all OP?
  2. Also this weekend I'll offer free ECTS removal for soarers. Wait, On second thoughts...
  3. I don't really see it, no. Especially because most of the time it's the bogans who are trolling the streets yelling out "top bloke!" to import drivers.
  4. I'm gonna throw a spanner in the works and suggest that alot of commodore ownership is due to the need for social acceptance. Bogans just don't fit in with other bogans without a V8 falcadore. Owning one is a definite step towards being considered more manly amongst your peers, and from what I've studied of the bogan, there is a thought process that centers around immediately having a larger penis once you own a straaayyn car. Chev badges and like accessories also add cms too.
  5. It's a brand new gate, straight from the box... I'll take it to a workshop and see what they think.
  6. Yeah i'm 100% sure the diaphragm isn't pinched. It's just not sealing the in the cap, so theres nothing to push open the wastegate, cos its all leaking out the gap! Really confusing me, It's not the exhaust part of the WG that's leaking, its the top housing that's suppose to hold boost? I'm blowing into the boost source with my mouth and it pushes up the valve with no spring in it, but the air is escaping from where the cap bolts down...
  7. Nothing to do with spring tension, I tried bolting down the cap with and without the springs inside, and it still leaks from that surface. I don't even see how it would seal! From what I can see the cap is supposed to bolt down and seal on the diaphragm, but it just doesn't seal! Could I use gasket goo to seal it up?
  8. Hey fellas, got a problem (I think) with my tial MVS wastegate. I took it apart to install my springs, then when I put it back together, its leaking from where the cap bolts down onto the body of the WG. Here... Ignore the fact that the screws arent tight... seems to be leaking from here... Even though that diaphragm is seated properly. is this normal? I blew air through the boost port with a compressor, and it doesnt even have any restriction? I doesn't seal at all! WHATTT? Cam/
  9. I'd be more worried about that rear muffler being in the piss if it was my car... Or is it just the pics?
  10. For extra piece of mind, weld a support beam from the turbo flange to the head flange... But given that your using 5mm thick metal, shell be right mate...
  11. Hey Brah, nice pics! Welcome.
  12. 1) bigger turbo - depending on the power you want, a bigger turbo simply = more power. GT3076r (max 550hp) is the best for a stock engine! 2) better exhaust - on a skyline, the factory exhaust is restrictive, nets you easy power. 3) boost controller - more boost + more power, but you need one of these VVVV at the same time, to make the most of it (see no.4) 4) tuning - nistune or power FC do well on skylines, an important mod if you've got more things to do later on. 5) intercooler - lowers intake temps, colder = denser = more oxygen = more power. (those 5 things all have to be done together though, you can't do either of those without the other. You can, but this is the best way to do it.
  13. Are you serious Brah? That's about as ambiguous as asking how long is a piece of string... Lol, how do you expect us to know how your car's running if you havnt told us anything about it? Haha Turbo? Exhaust? Intercooler? Engine management? Any other mods? 13psi and only, 240hp, I'd say there's something wrong, or your car is bog stock.
  14. Would you take $130 posted to Perth, 6020? Keen.
  15. Nope, they're both ceramic rear wheeled. The s1 r33 turbo has a nylon comp wheel, the others have an ally wheel.
  16. How long is a piece of string? You havnt listed anything about power targets bro... Good choice I'd say would be a gt2871r with a t3 flange, what ever the hks alternative is (GT-RS?).
  17. I love you.
  18. Haha yeah no kidding, Ive been waiting for ages to save up for them, they are expensive little pricks, coming from Malaysia, after my external gate they'll be next on the list for sure! Yeah they are drift teks, I love them, the offsets are perfect! Few mm out from the guards, but not so much it's obviously illegal...
  19. Sure he's not being a mannequin? lol These aren't bumps mate, this thread can get all the attention in the world, you'll still never sell a used stock cat. hahahah
  20. Get a manual bleed valve, the turbo tech ones work well. Get rid of the solenoid all together then just run the actuator with the boost controller!
  21. Do a search. Theres a huuuge thread on how to get high boost mode on the standard solenoid. Remember the highest you can go on the stock turbo is about 12psi. Higher than that and you'll seriously shorten the life of your turbo.
  22. Thanks to my girlfriend Simone for these pics!
