  1. Hey kids! Got my new exhaust done by Kermit. He's a solid dude, love his work, great service, i]I won't hesitate to give him more work (before he gets annoyed at me haha) Sounds great and looks surprisingly good considering I wanted it straight, on the angle (had to do so due to the size of the dam thing) it looks pretty sweet I reckon! Also finished a battery relocation too, the battery now resides in an eBay box in the boot. Replacing the battery with a dry cell, and the strap is getting the flick for proper mounts, I just had to doge it up like this to be able to drive to work etc... (why the hell did I choose to mod a daily driver......) Has 6 gauge cable, a 200amp circuit breaker and solid connections to the chassis, I loose 0.4 volts front to back... Also mounted the fuse box differently, using the back half of the battery tray. More room now So this is my engine bay as it sits now: External gate and new manifold are sitting waiting, just need to wait for all the gaskets to arrive, should be here next week...
  2. LOL who cares if you are big and tough? Just because you're 6'4" and bulky, doesn't mean you can drive like a dangerous tosser you know. Good to hear that you drive sensibly though, ahead of most tossers with commodores.
  3. Its all the same shit... I can't believe people believe the hype surrounding BP fuels, they are no different, the only difference is they charge ~7 cents.litre more... Personally I always fill up with Vortex, as caltex is my local servo. Never had a problem.
  4. Does anyone know of anything like this in WA? Are any tuners doing these sorta lessons anywhere else? Or is it mostly a thing you only learn when you're in the industry? (i.e. work for a performance workshop)
  5. Tial MVR. Cheap, reliable, well engieered, v-banded for easy installation. Did I mention they are cheap? Confuses me why people spend $500-600 on turbosmart gates, they are good, but wayyy too expensive! Especially when there's cheaper alternatives for half the price that are just as good!
  6. Aww true, I thought he was talking about aftermarket FMIC kits for skylines compared to cefs, mi bad!
  7. Just a tip bro, might help to incluide some more info on the car... manual, auto, CA, SR...
  8. Surely you'd be able to modify an R3X kit to suit right? It can't be THAT different surely!
  9. Lexus IS200/300 2JZ capable. Surprised why more people don't play with them. Once you get past those gay tail lights (there's aftermarket alternatives) they are great cars...
  10. If you're going to all that hassle, why not go only a little bit more and buy a trashed out RB30 from an R31 or VL, then make a RB25/30? Also, I'd be finding a better turbo, T04z is a dinosaur of a unit, there's heaps of better options these days,
  11. Irony of that is, I need the bend for Kermit to do my exhaust tomorrow hahah All good, Kermit himself has one or two lying around...
  12. Hey guys, I'm in desperate need of a 3" 90 degree bend for an exhaust job tomorrow, where can I buy one today?
  13. In short, don't buy it. Aftermarket BOVs in general don't give any performance gain, sound wanky, and cause more problems than not on skylines.
  14. First thing I can point out is the wastegate. An internal wastegate on such a big turbo will yield poor boost control. If I was in your shoes I'd be spending that little bit extra by buying an external wastegate, it'll make a huuge difference to how he car drives and your boost curve will love you for it... What sort of power are you after? No this isn't a bolt on option, you'll need to modify your cooler piping to fit the compressor housing, and you'd definitely want an aftermarket dump pipe (3" at least). I'd recommend Hyperdrive in Malaga, Andrew does great, honest, (relatively) cheap work...
  15. 1 vote for EMS stinger 4 from me...
  16. Prepare yourself for alot of money and a fair bit of headfarking. RB26 in good condition: $4,000 - $4,500. Custom sump (without diff): $500 Installation labor: $1,000 - $1,200 Then prepare yourself for blown turbo town, most rb26's turbos are getting on, and it'd be a wise move for the sake fo your engine to swap to a single or get new -5s (GT2860) within the next 6 months. You'll have to notify the RTA, I don't know about eastern states laws, but you'll def need an inspection of some sort. You wouldn't wanna risk it, You'd barely last a few weeks judging by the rate that skylines get hassled on the roads, and they'd take one peek in your engine bay and see that it's not stock...
  17. Yeah that's got the PCV catered for, but you can also run the valve cover breathers to it too. It's prob better for the engine to vent it to air instead of back into the intake, but it's not very legal that way...
  18. I passed it!
  19. +1
