  1. Bros, I got a PM from a guy on Performance Forums, it went as follows: I plan to help this guy out, and although I can't pre-fab everything and send it over, as I'm not a welder, and I can't afford to have my car off the road for more than a weekend - it's my daily driver. What I plan to do is do up a excel shreadsheet with all the parts, prices, part numbers, availability etc so all he needs to do is get the exhaust and intercooler piping fabbed up, then get it tuned. I'd be involved in buying all the parts for him and guiding him through the entire process of installing the parts and ironing out any issues. He lives in Brisbane so I can't do any of the labor myself unfortunately. Obviously I'd charge a little for all this info, I didn't loose that many years off my life to give away all my hard work and trial error for free, also it'd take a few hours to do up a spreadsheet with all the parts and info. But I have no idea what would be even remotely acceptable... Is $50 alright or is it a crime to ask for more like $100 for all my troubles? I'll also be giving him a copy of the tune file in my EMS at the moment, and there's about 5-7 hours of work there alone! His set-up will be exactly the same as mine so it'd only need a check on a dyno, this alone saves him ~$800 of dyno time! What do SAU brahs think?
  2. Hey welcome to SAU mate. How old are you? Are you sure your car is a GTR? GTRs are twin turbo, not n/a like the post title!
  3. Mr. Wangan: DMT is a lovely substance, but try not to trip, then make an ad to sell your car...
  4. Can someone learn me on penrite oils? Enviro+ fully synthetic, or SIN 5 or 10 any good??
  5. This man speaks the truth! Unfortunately it's a cultural thing, young people need acceptance, and the quickest easiest way to get that umongst their peers is by having a fast car. Then coupled with that, a commodore seems to cement you a chunk of masculinity, you are instantly transformed into a man in the eyes of your fellow bogans if you drive a commonwhore. Then you see these f**kheads getting behind the wheel with a few mates, they think they're all hot shit, then they end up wasting lives. Makes me sick. I'm all for p plate restrictions, but I still think it's the wrong way to go about it. Driver training and education first, but that takes effort, so there's no chance the gumbyment will do that!
  6. If you're gonna build up the auto with a shift kit and stuff, that could be very cool, f**k yeah. Just run the car in the same set-up as when it went pop, and just majorly nanna it there...
  7. Why doy you wanna keep the slushbox auto? Go a manual and run the PFC! If you desperately want the auto, ditch the mail order remap, and get someone with emanage experience to tune the car properly, fuel AND ignition. Make sure the emanate is wired up to take full control of the injectors, not just piggyback style...
  8. As per moderator request, can I change my username to: "Stealth" if that's taken: "StealthX" Thanks! Cam.
  9. Don't have a maf sensor, it has an EMS stinger 4424, uses map sensor for load source. pump has a constant 12v supply, still running the standard fpr, i'm going to install a aeromotive regulator and reference it to boost, the more stable fuel pressure might fix the missing porblem @ 1700rpm... If I want to run more than 12psi, I need a better fpr anyway, and I think it's generally not up for the job at all. the stinger has no fuel pressure compensation values, it's got air temp and water temperature compensation tables for timing and fuel, anti-lag, two step, 15 other customisable outputs. And a fuel and ignition map "override", never learnt to use this. Can you elaborate on why pump voltage is important in a returnless setup? PM me if you don't wanna clutter this thread!
  10. Yeah he didn't mention that, my bad. Regardless, re-wire your fuel pump, and if it still happens, ask your tuner what's going on. My x-trail does the same thing, I've tuned it myself, played with EVERYTHING possible to fix it, and have no idea what's going on. It just randomly goes lean and misses, if you apply the throttle @ 1700rpm, worse when cold, I think i've narrowed it down to intake turbulence. But yours sounds like a fuel pump voltage issue... VERY interested to hear the outcome, good luck dude.
  11. Dude, 13.7 isn't that lean at all... Besides, a bigger fuel pump won't change anything, the stock regulator is keeping the fuel pressure the same, and the injectors are still opening the same amount, so your AFR won'tt change from a fuel pump swap. I reckon the pump isn't receiving the right voltage, the fuel pressure is dropping and the "misses" are lean spots, but it probably wont detonate at those low revs in that situation, it'll just miss instead... when is it reading that AFR? under boost? on idle? and how were you measuring it?
  12. most obvious question, how much boost?
  13. As far as H/T tyres go: Achilles Deserthawks H/T 235/50/r18 dry: 7/10 wet: 5/10 value: 9/10 quality: (so far) 9/10 Kumho Solus H/T 215/60/r16 dry: 5/10 wet:3/10 value: 5/10 quality:1/10 Toyo Open Country H/T 215/60/r16 dry: 6/10 wet: 4/10 value: 5/10 quality: 5/10 Using Achilles Deserthawks atm, no complaints. People say they're crappy indo-made tyres, but they are the best H/T tyres I've ever used. Wearing slowly, good grip, fairly cheap, pretty quiet on the street! I know a few guys who have used them on drifters and racers, and they have no complaints either.
  14. ??? How could a blocked catch can put pressure on the turbo's bearings? The white smoke would be oil spewing back into the intake from the catch can... There's no way the bearings would "blow" from this...
  15. Why was the car towed if it was registered? Was it parked illegally? I'd be fighting the $250 fine too while you're at it! Defs go to court! Farken government carnts!
  16. Yeh definitely... no factory car has ever come with an external wastegate... Not that i know of!
  17. Stock gauges are known to be unreliable, did ya check the dipstick? Odds are if the gauge is reading something, you've got oil pressure of some sort, the light is prob. farked...
