  1. Custom make one. If you can get some solid bar the correct size I could tap it out for you... Perhaps get a 5mm thick block welded to the exhaust and tap that out? Where are you located? You may find an offcut on ebay or at a local machinist if you ring around. Edit: I thought I may have had one but it seems the thread is too small, perhaps m16? I thought you might be able to modify the sensor instead but probably not.
  2. Make the most of it? 500hp is nothing, aren't the rods good for over 800hp? You wont find much info as the HKS kit was around 10 grand to buy. Not many people went that route due to the twin kits being released cheaper in the US, but that doesn't make the single a crappy option. It would give you a much better midrange for daily driving imo and allows you to chose from a myriad of housing options. I agree, you need to sit down and decide how the car will be used and what power you are after. Have you driven a 400kw car on the street before? Seems a waste to me in a rwd platform.
  3. A nice bonus today when I went to fill up at United, they have decided to lower the price of e85 to 25c less than unleaded. (from 10c less) I ended up paying 96c a litre, it hasn't been that cheap ever as far as I remember... Apparently United buying the ethanol processing plant in Queensland has filtered down to us plebs at the pump for a nice discount.
  4. It will still be out. My speedo displays 100k's when I am doing 90, but the Informeter I have displays the correct speed so the ecu isnt the issue, the speed error is inside the dash unit from the factory. You would have to go for a much larger tyre size to correct it.
  5. The HKS adapter is for a T2 flange though isn't it? I dont think you will find a T2 gt35, or even a good T2 gt30 rear for that matter.
  6. LPG works to some extent, but the die and lubricating oil doesn't mix with it causing wear apparently. There are new refrigeration gasses being developed but they all require new compressors or systems. The latest push is to use carbon dioxide gas but the system would have to handle much more pressure than it does at the moment. (I think BMW and Mercedes are trialling it) I asked the aircon specialist how much his prices would rise, he said the gas price was nearly doubling but that shouldn't add too much (around $30) to the cost of a re-gas, as only 5-700g of gas is used.
  7. Most cars will need a power steering cooler for track work. You can probably get the washer from Nissan using your Vin no. Do you have an import friendly dealer near you?
  8. Sorry, your location said Melbourne. No pump ethanol for you. lol. A gt35 would be fairly damn responsive on the street and would still be in its efficiency at that power level. Are you happy with 300kw from the 3037?
  9. I would assume if you need to get the injectors flow matched locally the cost would blow out, probably best to get them from ID if that's the case. I think I was quoted over $20 an injector for a clean and report.
  10. Other than the capacity your engine is much like mine, that sort of power is attainable easily once the rods/bolts/studs are changed. There is no "max boost" only cylinder pressure you have to worry about. Too much will cause the head to lift and blow the head gasket. I would suggest the L19 ARP head studs at over 300kw, after talking with a few builders over in the US that's what I went with. Have you considered leaving the compression a little higher and running e85? And why the 3037? I think its a little too small for that power on 98, perhaps a gt35 might be a better option? Check out the new Walbro 416lph pump, not much more coin but flows twice what the 255 does at higher pressure. I have a spare set of manifolds here if you need them or I could even make you up a kit.
  11. Sif anyone takes a screenshot at 10psi, c'mon Jez, dont leave us hanging.
  12. Good luck, but will you need it running ethanol? Should pass emissions fairly easily I would have thought. It sound like a very nice setup, got any pics? Im hopefully going for my GTX3076 tune this weekend, not sure I want to push it too hard now since a head lifted and blew the head gasket. It was a big job to pull it all out for repair and L19 studs, don't want to do that again anytime soon...
  13. A supercharger or turbo on a 12:1 engine? Perhaps with ethanol, otherwise you would need to decompress the engine. I cant see a manufacturer doing either as a kit, perhaps a lower compression factory TRD engine will find its way in there eventually?
  14. Sometimes a slow leak causes loss of pressure, other times a large leak from changing engines or ac compressors. If there is still the original weight of gas in the system it should be fine.
  15. $10 it's a Drift filter.
  16. The Emanage Ultimate is a much better unit than the SAFC. It should do you fine at that power level if you find a good tuner.
  17. What would you like to know about them? You won't get full voltage out of one like a relay but they work well. I have some 40 amp ones here if you want to test a theory. Not sure how fast it will switch though.
  18. So that would mean metal prices will skyrocket as will all gasses? I had better stock up on argon too.
  19. Bosch 1000's, you should be able to get them for around the same price, why would you go for anything else these days for less than 500kw.
  20. You used glue? Why didn't I think of that. Would save me a fortune in argon.
  21. Thanks Terry, booked in for tomorrow.
  22. But then there would be no-one to blame.
