5 inch? MY wang is still bigger than yours

Hey guys. All this talk about wheel spacers has led my in the opposite direction. I think the wheels on my car are GTR offset on an R34 GTT and this is causing some annoying rubbing of the tyres on the inner guards. Enough that I have rubbed all the way through the inner guard liners and frayed some wires and stuff, so it's reasonably advanced. Anyway, can I machine some material from the INNER face of the wheel where it meets the hub???????? I don't want to repair the guards and liners and have the front end sprayed if it's just going to do it all again.... Thanks BASS OUT

the Afrs are good, no leaner than 12:1 at the hot bits. Obviously at lower rpm they lean out a bit, but not much. Have a look at the charts.

Funky If an aftermarket boost controller is not able to be adjusted from inside the cabin, is it okay? I've heard conflicting reports........

Hey ppls. Well, I had to fill my car with Vortex on Sunday night because I was too far away from a BP station and didn't have the fuel to try to get where i was going. Anyway, later in the night, I'm driving back from seeing "Saw" (sick arse movie, it was great) and something interesting happened..... LESS than 2000 rpm, almost 80 kph, just accelerating up to 80 after somebody slowed down in front of me and the engine light starts flashing...... Engine just comeing on boost, probably about 5 or 6 pounds on tap. So I slow down and try again, and same thing. Happens again in 4th, at around 2000 rpm, sometimes stops with the pedal down, sometimes not. Doesn't happen in third, or at full throttle anywhere else in the rev range. I'm assuming this is knock, but I'm not sure. Can you make an enginee knock at 2000 rpm? How much damage am I doing at those rpms anyway?? Does this mean I should go out and buy new cams and get my turbo highflowed and put in a built engine to stop it from even happening All help appreciated. I'm off to buy some octane booster.... R34GTT VS R33GTS25t pros and cons
Bass Junky replied to IneedaR33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
PS Good luck getting an R34 GTT for 25g -
There ARE power restrictions in Victoria. 125 kW per tonne (stock) 3.5 litres per tonne (stock) Theoretically you can't drive an R33 GTS-T on your P plates. People still do, but they get big fines if they get caught. You can apply for an exemption for special purposes. My mate worked at Porsche and needed to drive high powered cars for his job, and another mate who was a tradie pulled a trailer all day and therefore needed a V8. In my opinion (more than 10 years on the road) I think it's a good idea to restrict young drivers to lower powered cars for a period of time. Just imagine if your son or daughter (or Mum, Dad, brother, sister, girlfriend) was killed by a P-Plater driving a high powered car the day he got his licence. Some people are going to say "Any car can kill anyone" and that's true. But when was the last time you saw a 75kW VW Golf drifting through a corner and wrapping itself around a poll because and INEXPERIENCED driver was being a fu(kwit behind the wheel. I don't give a rats arse what anybody says about their own driving skill, and how many track days they've done and how many defensive drivers days and whatever that they have participated in, your need experience ON THE ROADS. This if where accidents happen and people get killed. Being on a race track is all about going in the same direction as the rest of the people one the road, and you are all going down the same driving line, and on the same section of road over and over again. I'm not bagging and track drivers, but that's a fact. It's a lot safer on a track to do anything than on the road. In Victoria, you can get your L-plates at 16, but cannot drive unsupervised until your get your P-Plates at 18. Your Ps then last till you are 21. I see no problem with the Victorian laws. BASS OUT

Hey Guys. I was doing some searching around today and found some pics of the sort of pipe I am trying to emulate. Some of you may have seen the prototype at the Vic BBQ on the weekend. The Apexi Super Suction Kit includes all bits and pieces (as mine will) and looks a little bit nicer than mine probably will, but the pic attached shows the amount of bits and pieces that need to be included. They are quite complex. Anyway, I didn't get a chance to refit the prototype on the weekend but I aim to do it sometime this week after work. I was considering buying one of the Apexi ones for reference, but I would need to buy one for each the R23, R33 and R34 models and the cheapest price I saw was like $450 and they always include the filter which I dont need. I can't quite justify adding the cost of the sample I would get to everyones price as it would add $30 to everyones price. Anyway, It's no fun copying somebody elses. Anyway, just checking in, letting you know it's all still moving along, albeit slowly as it's the silly season. BASS OUT

Steve was at the barbecue and Jeff was at the barbecue and I was at the barbecue; three men standing around a barbecue, sipping beer, staring at sausages, rolling them backwards and forwards, never leaving them alone. We didn't know why we were at the barbecue; we were just drawn there like moths to a flame. The barbecue was a powerful gravitational force, a man-magnet. Jeff said the thin ones could use a turn, I said, "yeah I reckon the thin ones could use a turn", Steve said, "yeah they really need a turn" - it was a unanimous turning decision. Steve was the Tong-master, a true artist, he gave a couple of practice snaps of his long silver tongs, SNAP, SNAP, before moving in, prodding, teasing, and with an elegant flick of his wrist, rolling them onto their little backs. A lesser tong-man would've flicked too hard; the sausages would've gone full circle, back to where they started. Nice, I remarked. The others nodded. Kevin was passing us, he heard the siren song sizzle of the snags, the barbecue was calling, beckoning, Kevinmmm ...come. He stuck his head in and said, "any room?" We nodded and began the barbecue shuffle; Steve shuffled to the left, Jeff shuffled to the left, I shuffled to the left, Kevin slipped in beside me, we sipped our beer. Now there were four of us staring at sausages, and Steve gave me the nod, my cue. I was second-in-command, and I had to take the raw sausages out of the plastic bag and lay them on the barbecue; not too close together, not too far apart, curl them into each other's bodies like lovers -fat ones, thin ones, herbed and continental. Gary came along, he said, "looking good, looking good" -the irresistible lure of the barbecue had pulled him in too. We nodded and did the BBQ shuffle, left, left, left, left, he slipped in beside Kevin, we sipped our beer. Five men, lots of sausages. Jeff was the Fork-pronger; he had the fork that pronged the tough hides of the Bavarian bratwursts and he showed lots of promise. Stabbing away eagerly, leaving perfect little vampire holes up and down the casing. Gary was shaking his head, he said, "I reckon they cook better if you don't poke them". There was a long silence, you could have heard a chipolata drop; this newcomer was a rabble-rouser, bringing in his crazy ideas from outside. He didn't understand the hierarchy; first the Tong-master, then the sausage-layer, then the Fork-pronger -and everyone below was just a watcher. Maybe eventually they'll move up the ladder, but for now - don't rock the Weber. Steve handed me his tongs. I looked at him and he nodded. I knew what was happening, I'd waited a long time for this moment - the abdication. The tongs weighed heavy in my hands, firm in my grip - was I ready for the responsibility? I snapped them twice, before moving in, prodding, teasing, and with an elegant flick of my wrist, rolling them back onto their little bellies. I was a natural, I was the TONG-MASTER. ... Until Steve got back from the toilet....

I used Genesis for my tune and they were good. (Box Hill) I also use Speed Technology all the time for stuff and they are also quite good. (Blackburn)

I drive an R34 GT-T Exhaust, Cooler, wheels etc. Just Cars Insure me for $1385 including a year of rating protection. Big excess though, but if I crash my car, I deserve to pay through the nose for being an idiot in whatever I was doing to cause an accident. BASS OUT

I've seen that in the paper. It would be a rocket ship, but without a screen it's pretty high priced. I guess you could take the add down to CPL and get them to make up something similar and probably faster for less money.

CHEAP!!! FS: 17" Bridgestone Tires 255/40
Bass Junky replied to akumi's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey Akumi. Sorry, I'm not going to be able to come through with the cash this week. I'd need to fit the rims to the car first to check that they fit 100% also, and I don't have any spare time up till christmas. Sorry for any stuff around. BASS OUT -
Shouldn't be too much of a problem. Myabe just a stock issue with Shift, but if they have it in stock, then no problem. A bit of information, the snout on the Standard turbo, the outside diameter is 65mm or 2.5 inches (63.5mm) and I have used the 2.5 inch hose reducer for the standard ones.

Hey if we are meeting in the Burvale Carpark, can we get into a punch on with somebody???

Any advantages in a normal car or is it just for something that creates a truck load of heat?

Knore. What I'm replacing is the stock pipe. I have had a look at my inlet system with and without the pod filter (ie stock and pod) and the pipe ends in the same location. I bought the Apexi pod filter kit specified for my car, which locates the AFM in the same place as stock. Therefore, replacing the standard duct with the new new, will work fine. If peoples Pod bracket puts the AFM in a slightly different location, then a slight modification to the bracket may be required, or the flex in the silicone joint will also take up a degree of misalignment. I hope this answers your question. BASS OUT
