  1. I have one of his low-mount rb25 steam pipe manifolds. It was a little difficult trying to bolt it onto the head, even with the engine out the car. The dump pipe position was out about 15-20cm to the side, so had to do away with the exhaust bracket/brace. Put 200k's on it so far and it hasnt cracked or anything. Will see how it handles 20psi. But it looks and feels pretty solid, good material etc. good price if you compare it to a chinese stainless one that is pretty much proven to crack eventually.
  2. Excedy HD button clutch? Not sure about the flywheel bit, but why not? Just heard its a bitch to drive with or something along those lines. If you can afford it and want to do it properly, go a Garrett GTX3076R with V-band rear housing, Tial external wastegate, 6 Boost high-mount exhaust manifold, get custom intake pipe, intercooler pipes and turbo dump pipe fabricated. Or search for "Hypergear" turbo's if you want to save a couple grand or so.
  3. Ok ill have a fiddle with the idle speed. By adjusting the tps, you mean loosening those 3 bolts and rotating it a bit?
  4. Old thread i know but im having the exact same issue with my freshly rebuilt rb25det. Seems to be only while idling I can hear and feel the VCT solenoid clicking every few seconds causing it to hunt all over the place and eventually stall. When i unplug the VCT solenoid connector it idles smoothly, no hunting or stalling. I cant be 100% sure but it felt like there was a little more grunt in the bottom end with the VCT connector on = VCT works? (I have to baby it around) Running a vipec v44 plug in ECU, was wondering if having no battery connected for a few months would cause the ECU to reset? Anyway, I'll try those things tomorrow.
  5. Great advice. Thinking about it now, being without my r33 for the past 2-3 months is starting to wind me up. Wouldnt be happy at all if i were asked to sell it! ( unless its to upgrade to a GTR, lol)
  6. not sure where that came from, haha but im afraid you may well be right
  7. Disregard spoon fed knowledge and facts. Listen to Ebay Turbo People.
  8. I'll admit, i was shattered when i found out i couldnt just slap on a $500 Ebay special turbo and piss out 600rwkw.
  9. The custom dump pipe that would need to be fabricated by a workshop costs about as much as that turbo!
  10. 3 weeks at a guess Martin.
  11. A little over 2 weeks.
  12. Ah yea good stuff
  13. Speaking of australian radio... What kinda music dude?
  14. Lately its been a bunch of progressive house/trance mix's, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chilli Peppers
  15. Yeah Trev its bolted on with the motor in the car but havent bolted the dump onto it yet or anything else, apart from the oil/water lines. I am told its to use standard turbo positioning. Just a little heads up, with the motor on a stand It took about 3 hours to get the manifold bolted on. A couple of the studs had to be shortened a bit because they were fouling against the pipe, also 2 or 3 of the chunkier washers wouldnt fit. There was barely enough space to fit a spanner in a few places, I might have to buy a longer open ended spanner to get some more torque on a few of the nuts. No biggie for me, still was glad to throw the stock manifold in the bin, lol.
  16. Ive got one. havent got the car running just yet but its gotta be better than the stock manifold, permitting it doesnt crack after a few months.
  17. That would be ideal Stao, just on a street car these days, its gotta be one of the best ways to get the police looking
  18. ACL heatshield is awsome stuff, you can bend and cut it into any shape you need i also heat wrapped the manifold and part of the dump, used heat shield sleeving on the oil and water lines, aswell as a turbo beanie.
  19. i'm sure the flapper was swinging out as far as it could, but i'll double check that, thanks. i've still got that 7psi actuator you gave me, i will see how it goes with that on aswell.
  20. I am having the same problem with boost spike. 18psi or 14psi actuators both shot up to 20-23psi everytime. Boost source from a weld on nipple after the turbo elbow. Intake leak tested OK. Tried just about everything. I am running a HG ATR43G3 internal gate. my concern was also around the wastegate hole/flapper. But since you're still having the same issue after porting etc, im lost.
  21. and thats why i am better off reading all of the post's.. thinking of getting one of those. $99 from kinugawa ebay and you can buy various springs for it.
