  1. I noticed that aswell.. Goodluck with the experiment!
  2. Yeah i probably didnt word it properly, its more like what you described. I checked that the bracket is on there and not budging.
  3. That hose on the TB goes to the charcoal canister aswell mate. I tried blocking that and the BOV hose off aswell as putting zero pre-load on the wastegate arm. STILL hitting 20psi in 3rd gear! Also noticed the whole actuator and bracket its bolted to shifts forwards a little bit when i give it some compressed air. Thankfully Stao is sending me a 7psi actuator, i'll see how that goes.
  4. Almost identical to mine, except you made 7-8hp more with 3psi less boost I made 318rwhp (237 odd rwkw) on 20psi. On a dyno dynamics too. Did the tuner do any runs on 20psi? Is it the internal gate? if so which actuator did you get? Cheers.
  5. I will try that (also recommended by Stao), other 2 things i've done. I've attached a picture here and was wondering what you guys think. Im thinking maybe it is leaking air from somewhere when its hitting boost. but theres so many places that are able to leak from. (BOV is blocked off) Is the boost source where it is on the plenum a good spot? Or should i get a nipple tapped/welded right after the turbo somewhere? Thanks everyone for the input!
  6. I was also leaning towards that Would running an even softer actuator work? perhaps a 9/10psi spring and just run no ebc. Bandaid fix yes, but it'll have to do for now. I just really dont want to run any more than 20psi.
  7. Yes the rod is adjustable, putting 4mm preload on and it goes up to 22psi. Now with 2mm its still going up to 22psi. Last week I also undid and tied the wastegate arm to the fully open position and it made 11psi in 3rd gear. Im not sure what size rear housing it has to be honest
  8. Yep tested the waste gate with the compressor and its pushing the rod back and forth. The rod is "just" clearing the bracket it goes through. Maybe an even softer spring might work (12psi), like sarge did?
  9. Im told it is 1 bar. Sarge what boost are you running now? And does it hold steadily or drop off in the top end? Cheers.
  10. Firstly, ive read some of the threads on here about boost creep but i thought i'd share whats going on with my setup, and if anyone has any ideas/thoughts. I have a HyperGear ATR43G3 internally gated turbo fitted to my R33 GTS-t, currently with a 14psi actuator on it. It see's 20-22 psi everytime with the actuator being fed straight from the plenum (bypassing the HKS EVC-S). I havent pressure tested the line, but im almost 100% the vac line isnt leaking (fairly heavy duty stuff and a yr old or so). Has a 3in bellmouth dump pipe to decat, then 3 1/2 to tip. The actuator does push the wastegate arm, tested this by pumping some compressed air through the actuator line. the actuator arm is very loose and free. The car is running a ViPec V44, and is actually tuned on 20psi. (Previous 18psi actuator wouldnt go below 22psi unless i put almost no pre-load on the actuator arm, which then caused it to creack open early) Ive read that running rich and advanced timing can have an effect on overboosting. Apparently my timing and fuel maps are about double of what they should be.. My problem is the wastegate leaks if it doesnt have enough pre-load on the arm. Which im not able to do otherwise it spikes to 25+psi. I just want to get atleast 15-16psi without the wastegate opening early, and then use my EBC to sort the rest out. Car is going in for another tune on thursday so maybe ill see how they go when they cut some fuel and timing out?
  11. Thought i could get away with just buying the globe holders on their own. All sorted now, Cheers.
  12. lol, so ordering a k&n filter tomorrow
  13. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-R33-GENUINE-NISMO-SIDE-INDICATOR-ECR33-/170797380724?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c4513474
  14. Yes, a screwdriver i take it.. Well i would have to ask the c*nt who stole mine the other day. So im left with a cable and plug hanging out where my side indicators used to be. Bought some new nismo ones but they didnt come with the light bulb HOLDER did they, lol. Does anyone know where i can get bulb holders to suit? guy from nissan spares thinks they dont exist. Any help would be really appreciated.
  15. flutter isnt really good as it affects not only the life of the turbo (supposedly, still not really confirmed), but increases turbo lag between gear changes also.
  16. ATR43G3 internal gate. Tuned by Mick at OvaBoost, 20psi.
  17. Fark yeah, awsome rims. I would just buy some good hubcentric spacers and get the guards rolled or flared if need be.
  18. Probably a dumb question, but here goes. Do WA tuners use the same ramp rates as tuners over east? My understanding is ramp rates effect the power reading , AKA a happy dyno. DVS Jez, luckily we all use nice eco/police-friendly catalyct converters eh?
  19. Well OP is either a troll or a very special person lol
  20. How long have you had your license for? Do you know how an internal combustion engine works?
  21. Yeah and they're always bunky ass POS commodores/falcons. Damn bogans these days.
  22. Lol, i've since decided to change them in their car park.
  23. Thought i would chime in with my findings so far on my ATR43G3. Firstly, hats off to Stao and his mechanic that can get one of these suckers fitted in 4 hours! Took it for a little drive around the block. Using 1/2 throttle, i got it to 4500rpm 1 or 2 times just to see whats up. A nice spooling sound and exhaust note is whats up! It seems to run/idle the same as before (tuned ECU), but i know not to give it the beans until its tuned properly. Changing injectors tomorrow so if all goes well its getting tuned on monday.. Then drags on wednesday.
  24. Please dont be one of these
