I would rather use a better oil than the factory stuff as i have had work done to the motor and want it to last a long time. The royal purple is the best i have used so far but getting it were i live is almost impossible unless i mail order. I have tried synx 3000 ( before the car was rebuilt ) and also tried Motul 4100? didnt seem to like the lower oil pressure from that one. was just curious as it would be nice just to go down the shops and find something. Does anyone have any comments on the Castrol edge 5w40?

Nissan recommends 7.5 - 30 I have had the motor rebuilt and am thinking i may dump the oil and maybe try Castrol Edge 5-30

Well First cold start this morning with me remembering i have forgies but really noticed alot more noise than i was used to also noticed even at quarter temp some engine noise was still there. Once car come up right up to temp the car was fine. I was just using the royal purple 10w 40w and i have the HPR10 which is however 10w 50w so any thoughts id really appreciate it.

I just put some Hpr10 in my rb25det its starting to cool down in my areas but will give u all an update in a week to see how it feels. I was running RP before hand.

Hi all A mate has a rb25det with wiring loom and is trying to get it started outside the car. Just wondering what needs to be plugged in for the car to run. We have noticed without the 2 plugs plugged into the fuse box the car wont turn over. Yet when we look at the fuses the box states there is no main compents. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated

Your old part number looks to be a series 2 ecu but if that new board has a idle screw adjustment than i dare say its for a series 1 or 1.5

yeah mate its a mongrel, also make sure you tension it correctly Loosen the tensioner with all marks lined up and rotate the balancer so it all spins around do this a few times and you will see the tensioner move into the correct position. than just tighten it up.

Quick Question Sarge Looking at your boost settings for low can i assume that you have a 14 psi Actuator ?

I have it for my white r33 gtst series 2. I think it will look quite good once i put it on. I also purchased some black plastic U channel that i am going to put around were the bar was cut in order to fit the Blitz return cooler. All up i think it will be a nice contrast to the white car. Will post pics once bumper has been repainted.

I did mine by relaxing the tensioner and turning the harmonic balancer a few revolutions. The tensioner will than move into the correct spot and all you have to do is keep pressure on the belt and tighten the tensioner up. Hope that helps ( I was told this by 3 different mechanics so hopefully its right as i had over tensioned mine as well the first time ) Had no problems what so ever

Great Sounding Idle But to me was a bit loud off Boost, That said the Gtr that i heard sounded pretty much the same. Exhaust is 3.25 Inch
