Drift Practice @ Calder Park Raceway
R31Nismoid replied to Drift Calder Park's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well Calder get a full house of cars for a night of off-street drags for $80 - and you get at best, 3 runs. So of course they are going to try and milk it for all it's worth. Same as their circuit hire costs for a delapidated facility. Anyway "Calder Park" - when you are ready to post 1. Dates 2. Prices (Entry/Spectator) 3. Further details Then feel free to start another thread that is actually useful. -
Jon is not going to be there. He was, but unfortunately looks like he cannot make it i believe. Unfortunate as well - because he was definately going to be asking Police questions like "why sit outside Easternats and defect people, after they've just come to do things legally". I've been talking with the ACA people a lot today/yesterday (hence i knew he was coming). This actually sounds like a reasonable idea - it'll just depend on how things are approcahed.

Also don't forget that thread is quite old for the most part (2008 etc). There won't be a lot of talk of -9s as they didn't come onto the market until ~2008/2009 IIRC as they were still under the HKS GT-SS banner and expensive, and then Garrett released them etc. I mean claims in that thread that -5s are "really into it" by 3000rpm are just plain silly. That same user then posted a graph - 4000rpm not even 170rwkw ... lol... really if that's "into it", i'd be worried. Yes they might be building boost - but in 4th gear it'll still takes you longer from 3000rpm-4000rpm than it does from 4000rpm-8000rpm on a 2.6ltr, once the turbos are well into their sweet spot and the motor is working. End of the day it comes down to ones 'definition' of what is/is not laggy. Turbos that come on @ 4000rpm-8000rpm for ~370rwkw or turbos that come on @ 3300rpm-7500rpm for ~330rwkw Basically the same power band - just totally different delivery & RPM use. Then there is also response onto boost in/out of gears, on/off throttle etc. End of the day - do what we've told you. Jump in the passenger seat and see for yourself and what you prefer.

^ as above. They have a group of people obviously of the kebab shop boys (funny no?)... So there are questions hopefully we can ask them of "why dont you come to the track". Ask other people about why there isnt more driver training/education as that is the key point really - changes of attitude is whats needed and that wont happen by impounding cars But also being able to ask Police/Council about the lack of places to actually go. Look @ Calder park - you get 2-3 runs per night, costs $80 ($25 for ya mates). So $80 + fuel/food for less than 1min of racing... Its not hard to see why it spills onto the street. That's not to say it is condoned by us - however one can clearly see WHY it is occurring. And also ask the Police why they sit out the front of events like Easternats - defecting people - after they've just left somewhere and been doing the right thing... Its very counter productive

I know I'm really late to this one... But having seen the quality of welding on said muffler recently - I wouldn't buy one... They will certainly work (they are heavily packed, weigh heaps), but overall quality simply wasn't there. Seen better welding out of China to be honest.

Sadly no-one is going to attend a cruise, without any detail about who else is invited - by someone that registered simply to post the cruise.
-
Ha ha ha I thinking about it more, wonder if this mixed up top 10 will continue as bigger budget teams excel on those without it as the season progresses. Especially with motor/parts reliability over the longer season. Thoughts?

Lock me in for myself at this point - double bed. Will confer with the other suspects and let ya know

It looks like it's a ACA event Not a 60 Minutes event Still interested in going along from the point of view of: "Hey, we are SAU - We organise these events" "Our limitations are - X (costs & availability of venues etc)" "We understand the legal, but when Police sit outside events like Calder Drags - and defect people, doesn't do anyone any good" "We have cruise meets in car parks, yet are sometimes hassled due to perception rather than fact" So basically sitting with the supporters of more access to facilities, kinda like sitting between the two worlds to so speak.
-
It's hard to say if it will/won't. Only way is to see.
-
Aren't those team-radio feeds like 1-2 laps behind the present though? Or have they got them more up to date now? So whilst it looked like he basically went off a few corners later, it actually wasn't the case. Which would also mean he was ignoring those orders are until then he was still gaining!
-
How is it hard to hate? Easily. Hamo is a muppet. The only reason he is happy today is because Vetell & Button finished well behind him.
-
Because some GTR owners are scared of a bit of water
-
Well the season certainly has become interesting after todays race! Bring on some more wet races!
-
It's a bad comparison. Clearly he came here to big note himself (why else would you thread dig)... Read the 400kw thread for more details if you really wanna get into it.

Help R34 Gtr Vspec 2.6, 2.8 Or 26/30
R31Nismoid replied to hks 2.8l bnr34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thread closed. Believe it or not, but since SAU started more than 7 years ago, this topic has been discussed before. Please use the search function in future. It may be found here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums While we understand that it can be frustrating to have your thread closed - Please consider that other members may feel it to be disrespectful and selfish of you to post a simple question, without using the search feature to review the wealth of information provided by said members over the years. If you still feel that this action is unjust, then please PM me and we can discuss it further. -
Not in charge of it dude I just add/remove access as required. Email secretary - Dan will look into it for you and advise me.

How do you work that out exactly? You - 175km/h @ 7000rpm (4th) RPMGTR - 230km/h @ 8000rpm (4th) You are doing 150km/h @ 6k, 175km/h @ 7k... So roughly 200km/h you are 8k Meaning yours is the shorter ratio... So of course yours appears more responsive.

Never a more accurate word spoken. Post Race after Melb was something along the lines of "gotta look at the start, not sure if it was the car or me" LOL... We all know the answer.

R33 Gtr Series 3 Xenon Headlights
R31Nismoid replied to Spunky Munky's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
You don't even have the items in your possession, and you admit it. Forget it. You don't even know they work - or that a simple clean will fix it if you've not seen them. Having repaired a few Xenon's in the last 6 months, it looks as if they have been gas/burnt from the rear and a simple clean will not remove the cloud, again you cannot tell if you don't have them in your posession. Closed. -
Wrong Wrong Irrelevant Wrong Also realistically “low” km cars don’t exist unless you have full & authenticated service history. It’s 2012 – No standard issue R33 from ‘95/’96 is going to have 70,000km’s on it. 99% of them have simply been wound back. R33 Chassis is better than a R32 one either way. They are a better built car, evident by the extra weight as well of course. Also remember that Nissan electrics aren’t the best once they get older. So things like CAS, AFM, Dash & general gremlins creep in. Not everyone suffers but it can happen. It doesn’t sound like your about to go through a 350rwkw rebuild, so just get as later model of R33 as possible – simply reduce the chance of headaches.

It's just getting rougher by the sound of it
