  1. Fuel isn't a major issue. OP is US, fuel is measured differently.
  2. Yep definitely going to keep it unbias, that's a key aim. Independent testing, review etc. Don't mind if someone that has a business wants to help. Import Monster have expressed interest in getting involved where possible. However they won't check their own product for instance. Thanks for PMs so far, I will respond later in the week Surely there must be more interested though? Plenty of people doing this all the time!
  3. They are laggy because they are a design from the 1980's. Their wheel combination isn't great at all compared to a new gen turbo like a Garrett -5
  4. God recently spoken on this issue. As you would be well aware, this is what he said about it all. Pretty simply really.
  5. Depends on your definition of "handle" really. Most people would like more than a "if i can" As this is what the very owner said about it: And it was then backed off a little bit power and RPM wise - so not running the same power day in/day out. Not taking anything away from Simon's set-up etc, it's certainly surprised a good number of us what can be done on a limited budget and is impressive. Just don't expect that to be the norm more than anything, it's all about being realistic.
  6. SAU takes a distinct and harsh stand towards outward stupidity. Club member or not, talk about doing $2 on public roads again, you'll lose your account. Thread cleaned.
  7. So where would you tune it then? You going to run around at a track day, with a laptop sitting in the passenger seat whilst you make changes on the fly? Come on... you wouldn't be allowed out onto a circuit for a start. Add to the fact you cannot test a full run in 4th (or 5th), max load, on the street repeatable/safe in manner anyway with the speeds you'd see (200+) on a circuit. Nor is this a 1M race outfit that can remotely adjust the tunes on the fly. You need a dyno. Side point, and not even sure why im asking... But what does a dyno fan have to do with a motor failing @ the track?
  8. You should come up for the Sat fun as well, including the evening
  9. Bump - had a buyer, but he has since become non-contactable.
  10. Same as everyone else really - a laggy 450-500rwhp. Will be boost/tune dependant based upon tuner decision etc.
  11. My order turned up late last week of the same brand Phil got, i did the premium though. So far only taking 1 per day and I'm not getting any major issues with reflux and I get it bad with other tablets. Very impressed and I'm feeling quite good at the moment. Will report back in a couple of weeks.
  12. Guys just on O2 sensors - you don't really need em. I drove to Syd & back with 340rwkw, 700kms to a tank and that was using no O2 sensors (just stayed off boost). It's all in the tune for that type of thing (RE: O2/economy) and they certainly aren't required.
  13. Indeed that is the issue at times. Street tunes are certainly much less forgiving, but then so are the conditions of use. I know if I'm doing drag work then i can add a couple degrees for instance easily without any alter in knock given its only a quick pass. But i just leave well enough alone, i never get any noticeable amount of knock unless a limiter get tapped.
  14. Use one to suit the sensors. So if using a RB26 head, get RB26 PFC. Just ensure that its the correct RB26 PFC. R32/R33 are same, R34 is different. Bottom end doesn't matter.
  15. Ye there are street tunes and track tunes certainly. You can generally be a little more agressive on a street car as it's not doing flat out 3-6 laps at a time. Where a street car with a bit of spirited driving, won't be going near those types of temps.
  16. Hard to compared the Garrett items, remember the HG items are not running as large of a rear housing and hence they always fall off around 7000rpm where a 3076 never will. So it'd be interesting to see just how much hotter everything is for the same power levels etc. Either way there is no "magical" number. 260-270rwkw/18psi would be the smart choice with a good tune. Should last quite a good while.
  17. 8psi in neutral? How is this being measured exactly? Aftermarket boost gauge? Either way, running 9-10psi is the limit for most stock ECUs. Anymore they go banana's. There are plenty of threads about it.
  18. Not the first time this has appeared over the years. stock GTR core for 400rwkw = win.
  19. Thread closed. Believe it or not, but since SAU started more than 7 years ago, this topic has been discussed before. Please use the search function in future. It may be found here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums While we understand that it can be frustrating to have your thread closed - Please consider that other members may feel it to be disrespectful and selfish of you to post a simple question, without using the search feature to review the wealth of information provided by said members over the years. If you still feel that this action is unjust, then please PM me and we can discuss it further.
