How is the bite on them? I wasnt a fan of the Ferrodo DS3000 So thinking either Pagid RS29, or perhaps another pad.

The CeCe cefiro (i think it was?) - one of the surprising sounding i reckon. We were thinking 1JZ or something a tad different, and then bonnet goes up - 26/30, very surprising the note it was giving

You were out @ opposite sessions to us which was a bit of a PITA. Next time hopefully it'll workout a bit different with sessions. Plus us Track Battle guys all know each other, so we all went to a pub (about 10mins away) for lunch both days as we had 2.5hrs between mornin/arvo sessions so i think we spent a good 1.5hrs chillin there enjoying Lemonades... I reckon it was a great event, you drift guys really did some epic carnage to your cars and each other. At one point we were trying to pick which cars weren't gonna come back with damage, was great viewing indeed! Was really well run from the Track guys perspective. How bout you guys? Looked like it was running well?

Yeah i know! It's not a concious choice, just how they are. Not sure what thermostat is in the GTR, I've not had that out, so i cannot comment other than i know it's got a triple pass radiator. If it ever comes out i'll have a looksee. The HR31 has a factory RB26 thermostat, know that for sure. It runs between 69-72 degrees on a 20 degree day. We actually tried another new thermostat in it just to be certain it wasn't stuffed. The motor also sits much lower in a HR31 than it does in a GTR, perhaps that is something to do with it all? Don't have VCT so i guess it aint a problem Temps might get up higher in peak hour stop/start type of thing. I rarely drive in peak hour that often (i walk to/from work daily).

Well given Calder gave feedback a couple days ago, i think they were well aware of the issues already?

I used a stock clutch fan on my GTR - driving around town temps are in the mid-high 60s on a 20 degree day. Going flat out @ Track Battle doing 5 laps (58-60) sec lap i think temps got to around 90 and the ambient on Sunday was 20-22. Thats with 350rwkw/19psi as well. Thermos might indeed be able to keep up - they might not, that's something i wont be toying with though. Mine is a triple pass - so whilst big, avoids that issue. It's not a PWR item, but i know PWR do them. There are other places as well that are doing them now also (that bolt into a skyline etc) My HR31 with a RB26 uses a RB clutch fan. Also has a Ally Radiator thats larger than factory by a fair margin. I think we used a GTR fan and just modded the HR31 shroud to suit.

Yeah the format, style etc will come with time. For now we are just looking for people that are keen to get involved with it all. Once there is a keen group we can workout what everyone thinks will work best, is easiest to follow/address and that type of thing. So kinda "next step" stuff. Disclaimers aren't an issue

I think your throttle % mapping is a bit out, highest it gets too is 65% or so whilst the 'bar' is maxed? 5500rpm in second @ full noise before 1.2bar. Maybe you need 290 cams as well to bring them on @ 4500rpm like some around here have claimed Pity the data cuts out half way through the video man, it was just looking to get interesting

Let me know when you bust the engine pushing 300-330rwkw with the heat those tiny housings must be generating vs 260rwkw when you are less likely. People are only just starting to push 300rwkw in the last 18 months - its become the new flavour for RB25 owners. Unfortunately however they aren't all hanging together like their 260rwkw brothers have been for much longer, and a few motors are starting to let go. This is not reliable power in my books. Also other people in this thread are not taking into account suspension, diff, clutch, brakes etc. Just in those parts alone is another $6000 and thats being conservative.

300rwkw is over DOUBLE what it will be making right now. 260-300rwkw in a street RWD car is pretty much the "sweet" spot between useable power, lag and streetability. Anymore than that in a RWD Skyline and it's no longer street friendly. Add to the fact 300rwkw is expensive. 260rwkw however is sensible, and much cheaper to get towards, best of all it's reliable and is still a good 100rwkw extra which is much more than you think. My suggestion would be get him into a car with 260rwkw, you'll soon see how much fun they are due to response etc.
