  1. mmmm GT3 RS style half cage in the rear
  2. if you're in melb happy to catch up
  3. Ive tried to get a sound clip but they always end up full of wind noisr I have the same setup as this guy, but with the added flutter of the hks bovs - catless downpipes and catted Cobb midpipe
  4. Yep That bracket has 4 bolts The 2 bolts on either end go through the diffuser and muffler bracket So it's only the middle 2 bolts that's missing
  5. Which bracket is it? I didn't use the black metal bracket that fits at the rear of the muffler and haven't had any issues
  6. That's a great video, good job. good mounting location too Are the mu pads any quieter than stock? I've been plagued with squeeling pads from day 1
  7. gees surely that's something that can be asked in private

  9. Make you get all clued up Martin before I come back in a couple months
  10. I'm running basically same mods which is why I'm curious how the turbos added to the driveability as that's my next move. Have you got the dyno graphs, would love to see the power curve to compare with mine. You kept the stock actuators yeh? What psi did Martin run the new turbos at? ideally I'd want to run 20-22psi right to redline What about the box, any increase in nvh after opening it up? That's my main concern
  11. can you just swap the discs over? did nissan change the upright for the mounting, or just designed a spacer to attach to the existing upright?
  12. 90% of the extra sound in a catback system comes from going catless in the midpipe - thus best bang for buck exhaust mod is midpipe only the best sound (and power) comes when you go catless on the downpipes, and you won't really understand how much better it sounds until you do it muffler only is really just increasing the volume of a bottle knecked system. I know because i did my exhaust in 3 stages - catless midpipe (great sound), muffler (slight increase volume only) and lastly catless dp's (complete change in tone, more raspy, more burble crackle/pop on overun, significantly improved turbo spool) i was initially looking at spending 7k on the amuse system but what stopped me is the GTR tax - Amuse charge half that for the 370Z system which includes more ti and more mufflers, and that's just taking the piss someone only recently pointed out my 997 gt2 has an akro exhaust from oem, so i guess that's given them the excuse to jump on the GTR tax bandwagon i spent just over 2k for my cat back, looks fantastic and works even better. Been running it for almost a year now with no discoloration of the ti. One of the best buys i've ever made mod'ing cars. each to their own, this is just one person's feedback
  13. Munro how's your car going with the willall turbos? Did you notice a difference in performance from full bolt on e85 to mod'd turbos?
  14. Martin did you test the LC cobb upgrades on your last car? I'm waiting for cobb to release an adjustable LC program, as the LC2 at 3200rpm is too much rpm for the grip of my 21" yoki's on street
  15. I highly doubt those selling their 09s for 100k are doing so because the used market is privy to a few box failures The reality is, what has driven down resale is chiefly the market, cost of funds when leasing a used car, and most importantly the fact 70k of that new car price tag are taxes the dealer doesn't have to pay when buying new stock - why would a dealer offer you 120k for your 09 on trade in when a brand new car from nissan aus costs less than that

    Tyre Suggestion

ill be going with michelin super sports in 21" next - though im limited by michelin's sizes so fronts will be 2.7% out, rears are available in my current size a few of our cars have them now as oem fitment and they are a great tyre i really need more grip then my yoki advan sports offer (back when i bought it was the best option for my wheel sizes)
  18. great video mate
  19. think it's time for me to take the next step not really interested in a drag car so ruling out big turbos. what ideally im after is stock turbo like spool below 3000rpm for the daily drive duties, and abiltity to carry more boost towards redline for better in-gear acceleration starting to do my research now on engine internals and turbos, though willall's spec v style porting seems to be the way to go - anyone here done the willall turbo mod?
  20. what specs are the greddy motor? does it include greddy turbos?
  21. The latest car has a stronger shift fork according to marketing speel
  22. the problem initially when the car was first released was Borg Warner not releasing replacement parts, this limited what could be done in the aftermarket, so the blown box stories were scaring everybody. Now we even have aftermarket companies manufacturing stronger internal parts the decision to replace the whole box rather than open it up is borne from a letigation stand point. As i commented before in this thread, having a third party work on someone else's part is just asking for trouble, and it's no different at the dealer level - Nissan Aus is the third party in this case, and they will charge the work back to Nissan Japan who will charge the work back to Borg Warner. this dealer theory in replacing items rather than repairing is common place these days regardless of warranty work or not - if you want to have a go at repairing anything these days you need to go aftermarket
