  1. no it's true, i do use it for masking off while polishing see.....
  2. My hks ssqv 4's flutter by design at low boost It's when you force the air back against the turbo to make the flutter sound that you reduce the life of the turbos
  3. Like a boss Get it down to 1/4 tank Too bad it's wet out....
  4. next time we use the vbox
  5. It's 3m blue painters masking tape. All the ricers use it because it doesn't leave any residue behind and they think it looks cool I use it for masking off panels when polishing Reality is clear sticky tape would offer more resistance - simple test, try pushing a ball point through plastic based sticky tape vs paper based masking tape
  6. do you honestly think sticky tape that is thinner than paper will stop stone chips when specifically designed clear bra needs to be around 8mm thick ossie when I drove to willall in Adelaide I wrapped the entire front and sides with clear bra. I bought the material and lay it down with a mate ourselves, was messy in sections but didn't matter as it came off as soon as I got back
  7. the run flat idea is flawed imo anyway - there's no way id drive home on a run flat tyre and scratch the bejesus out of the rim itd cost less than a wheel repair to just get it flat bed'd home i carry a small air pump compressor with me that plugs into the cigi lighter - its the same unit that came with my M3
  8. i thought that car was for sale at one stage titanium is a great colour
  9. da vinci's discovery of the sound wave doesn't seem to translate correctly other side of the ditch either
  10. went through similar ordeal trying to buy specific size bf goodrich tyres for my 4wd, so i just ordered from tirerack the michelins would work well on stock 20s, get rid of the runflats, much improved ride comfort without them i would consider them if they made more sizes in 21. but atm the closest fronts are 2.7% out, and my yoki's are 0.0% front and 0.2% out on rear
  11. reliability is on our side
  12. rofl that's a really old picture of a midnight purple spec v they've used for the ad
  13. too big for detailing to be a hobby now no matter how super the metal, the GTR just embarrasses them all
  14. mine's a mid 2005 smg so one of the last built - paint and interior are from the individual program yeh the smg is harsh in the fastest settings, with stability off you get a 6th even faster tail shaft snapping setting - and because of that ive never dared to use the LC (in my own car ). If you leave it in the 3rd or 4th setting and just ease of the accelerator mid-shift it is very smooth. Also shift quality is dependant on maintenance. I have friends who buy wholesale'd cheap M3's with 100K+ km on original clutch and they are dogs to drive. I replaced my clutch at 40K kms and it feels as good as new. the coupe's have a bad issue with cracking subframes - violent smg shifts wouldn't help the shifts do feel slow after getting used to the dual clutch in the gtr/sls, but then jumping in the ferrari, maser, etc i do prefer the softer smg over the neck snapping f1 shifts with work vs-xx and now that ive put the oem 19s back on to keep it looking oem
  15. doubt it, the high maintenance costs have been as over exaggerated on the interweb as 2012 end of the world conspiracies im figuring gfc for the main part, end of lease for the 09s perhaps
  16. thread bump haven't seen an R35 on the road for months seems they're all on carsales
  17. said taxes keeps the aussie car industry alive id spend the extra for a 2010 - nav, better res mfd, r-r-r lc etc are worth the extra money imo
  18. ive got the 100 cell CSL cats on my S54 rasp is off the hizzy the americans never got it, and put exhausts on to make there's sound like a V6 mustang
  19. as a hobbiest detailer looking after 15 cars, my rec is einzsett cockpit premium - you can get it from waxit.com.au itll leave a matte dry finish (has uv protectants in it) it's all i use for interior plastics
  20. the S54 sounds better topless M cars are all about the engine.... the chassis are no different to the base model
  21. v8 engine sounds through the speakers because they cant make the engine/exhaust sound like its supposed to = the M legacy is well and truely over .....and people ask me why i refuse to accept low ball offers on my parked up E46 M3 individual convert
  22. hurry up and get on the wagon mate - then grab your mate over there with the tuned 996 tt and come down to melb for some good driving roads
  23. i took kymbo's post as meaning there will be no further development - doesnt make sense for nissan to just stop production entirely, id imagine they'll keep building the current car for a few more years
  24. the more you think about it, the more it makes sense dealers will continue to profit from the servicing of the existing cars, and more so as they start changing hands on used market and km's rack up exponentially with the shift towards green energy, there is no doubt the next GTR will employ some form of hybrid tech. And I don't believe any manufacturers are anywhere near using this tech in high performance app's. It'll take them years of development to fine tune it plus there's no where more to go with the current drip feed power increase on the r35. They'd be at the limit now of factory warrantied power levels (hence the small power jump in 2012 for marketing above all else). Doubtful they'd invest in an improved gearbox or change engine internals this late in the cycle to warranty over 600hp. They've also run out of chassis tuning ideas - read stiffer springs on one side to counter balance drivers weight in a 1700+kg car is pure wank
