  1. must be a sydney tuner car not even charlie sheen would win in that thing i figured id get a good 3 years out of the r35 before they turned ful hektik overnight seems i failed to take into account the variable of recoverable write-offs
  2. Only the ADM sensors I bought from the melbourne dealer paired up
  3. if there was a GTR on carsales for 80k, you'd see it down at tempe tyres for a set of these bad boys within days
  4. i think you're seeing a little dealer inflation given the lack of availability with the japan crisis normal price should be ~18x,xxx
  5. the bog came later when you had digested that ubiquitous cold potato salad
  6. guys i have 4 JDM spec tyre pressure sensors available i bought these through japanparts for my aftermarket wheels, but they wouldnt pair up with my 2010 ADM thus should work for those of you have a JDM import - sensors are a creamy white colour $150 for the set
  7. i got caught up in the morning with work and missed the bus to PI ill wait till my dealer has one on demo great write-up mate, thanks for taking the time, looking forward to seeing those pics the extra power with a warranty will be a big selling point for alot of people. Even though a cobb e-map will net you same/if not more power re brakes, i agree there will be a retro kit in time and probably a Nissan one which will start off as Japan only then with the power of the internet become worldwide in days. I put the larger CSL discs on my M3 when they were due (which had a larger hub so purely a heat upgrade) and that was an oem kit which came with a caliper spacer. Simple re the visual changes, wheels dont concern me as i have aftermarkets, and i hate the latest ebay ricer led strip craze with a passion that id mould/paint over them anyway as a hobbiest detailer, metallic black is a huge deal killer for me tbh if i had an 09 i prob would upgrade, not so much for the exterior mods or power increase because like you say you can gain far more power with much less money, but for the satnav, bluetooth, mp3, dvd, higher res screen etc that came with 10 onwards in for pics of the R36!
  8. 3 seconds flat will impress your mates in conversation as long as theyre not car guys and hence know what effect our fuel and elevation have on magazine times from US and Japan
  9. local products? a mexican built engine under the hood, assembled in SA, shipped half way across the world and lands cheaper than what our local industry charges us for a detuned product yep ill support that..... fk off
  10. first drive? hmmm pricing seems off
  11. yep let's call it the yanks at their local drag strip then
  12. cool sounds do-able
  13. agreed LC1 was the real deal however it also netted countless grenade'd boxes the LC2 'soft' launch isnt as aggressive and (arguably) a tenth or 2 slower, but it is less taxing on the drivetrain and technically still covered under warranty
  14. B i rekon it's quicker if you apply power smoothly off the line rather then just carpet it But yes with LC there is no dead zone below 2000rpm, as you're starting effectively with ~3500rpm
  15. admittedly i held off buying the GTR when it was released in 2009 because of all the tech everyone else got that we didnt - nav, bluetooth, higher res screen etc i still wouldnt mind some small things ive taken for granted in my euro, like auto dimming mirror, reverse sensors, auto door locks, bi-xenons, auto dipping side mirror when in reverse, etc ill do a vid for you guys this week on how to set up the LC incar
  16. that still wouldnt stop me wanting an esprit cooler and panel daaaaayum
  17. i have yet to see an 09 build ADM do LC with VDC-R, but who knows, maybe its a software update the dealers can/are doing put everything in R warranty mode and see what happens the reprogramming of the LC to be used in VDC-R was done for 2010 build onwards out of the factory, and borne chiefly out of the all blown gearbox issues Nissan were having in 2008 and 2009 cars. in R mode you can feel its not that harsh on the drivetrain. You dont get the axle tramp like alot of youtube VDC-Off vids. You can almost feel the traction being constantly regulated back n forth. For 2011 theyve taken all that programming one step further with an even quicker VDC-R LC sequence and higher rpm
  18. thats awesome mercury good to see some mod'd R35s here in Aus, getting sick of reading all those US build threads are your dump pipes catless? i thought catless downpipes with a catless mid-pipe would be crazy loud inside the cabin, even with the stock muffler do you not think there's a need to increase the diameter of the turbo inlet pipes after making those changes to the turbos? care to share an indicative price on a job like that?
  19. i put a bit more info in my post above dude
  20. 2009 build the LC is in VDC-OFF = LC1 2010 build the LC is in VDC-R mode = LC2 video is a whole lotta politician type back pedalling, but basically after everyone was grenading box's in 2009 with VDC Off LC at 5000rpm, Nissan for 2010 offered a 3500rpm "soft" LC with VDC-R . For 2011, LC is still in VDC-R but theyve increased the rev limit to ~4800rpm
  21. maybe the ADM 2009 didnt have it then
  22. ive got my E45 for sale atm, though ive pitched it quite high because a) the individual colour combo and flawless condition, and b) it would take a very generous offer for me to part with it
  23. yep ive got an E46 M3, one of the best NA engines ever built. Even though its not that quick, relatively, and the smg in a world of double clutch box's is slow to change gears, i still get a buzz from it, especially from the rasp with the roof down re feel, these days you really have to buy a dedicated track car like an elise to get that raw feeling. Sports cars are becoming increasingly dumbed down to appeal to a wider target market. dont think the 2011 is any lighter than the previous model, apart from the wheels theyre claiming they've saved some weight - aftermarkets with normal road tyres is where you'll lose some noticeable unsprung weight. So that may be something you want to look into, put some toyo semi's on it for eg and ditch the heavy runflats re suspension and steering, each model year has brought with it running changes, so it wouldnt be uncommon for people with 2009s to notice a difference by now run it in and let the mods begin, at the bare minimum a y-pipe to get some sound out of it stock is boring ps: did you have any issues with your 09 in those 30,000kms? if you're in melb, check out g35s melb meet thread
  24. understandable the minor visual changes are for aero, but often with facelifts they come across as change merely for the sake of it i like the larger grille opening
  25. the only mechanical change i can see on the 2011 apart from the ecu changes is the slightly larger turbo inlet pipes any ecu changes nissan have made in increasing boost etc will be over compensated by the cobb map larger turbo inlet pipes have been available through aftermarket for years now, and almost every jdm tuner has a set on offer - and their diameter is larger than what nissan has done anyway. Getting more air into the turbo is just as important as getting more gas out imo, and they arent too expensive, around 1k will get you a set, some US shops are even cheaper, theyre all the same in the end for me, id go mid-pipe, turbo inlet pipes and cobb. Then do intakes and/or muffler if you want more exhaust/turbo sound for fun bolt on's like midpipe, intake are exactly that, they can be removed. Once you add the cobb and remap the ecu, you're on your own you'd have more fun modifying your car than buying another stock r35 which looks identical from behind the steeringwheel, unless of course you're like the yanks and waking up with a boner over the leds in the front bumper
