  1. yep the interweb forums seem to highlight and exacerbate the handful of people that have had problems while ignoring the hundreds of thousands that havent re the rear engine layout of a 911, yep Porsche do know about it's limitations. They tried shifting their customers to an FR with the 928 and no one bought it. They tried again with the cheaper 924 and no one bought that either. The 911 is here to stay and it's layout defies physics in it's own way also +1 on the F40 being one of the best cars ever built, arguably last of the true supercars, but a modified F40 is about as collectable as a post-it note
  2. is there anything even wrong with the engine? warranty issues over hyped on the interweb seem to be with the box
  3. the 3 dead is impressive in videos, but in reality cars are much slower than US and Japan tests on Aussie soil the back seats in the R35 are also good for comparing the different grades of vinyl used bw the rear seats, front seats and dashboard but i still love it, best car ive owned so far, i can drive to and from work in comfort and zero fuss, park it without fear of getting keyed, tinker with the mods, head out to the country in the dead of the night for a blast, then give it a detail on sunday ready for another week my experience has been the opposite. Most older car enthusiasts i know with ferraris, lambos, high end porsches etc actually appreciate the mechanical package and value for money in conversation
  4. B he was referring to me, you just stole his numberplate clever marketing there with ADV putting 5.2s on their GTR promo pics and vids, it worked for the both of us and countless others back on topic, i still havent come across other GTR owners on the road to have a quick traffic light chat with
  5. 630hp from an exhaust and tune?
  6. what do you around window rubbers? that's where i see the stanley knife come out
  7. an even easier option would be using one of the many free ip sniffers some computer geek will spend 5 mins on google and that vid isnt necessary that's why you insure your sh!t mate bad luck about the keys, seems the dealers are rolling in the gtr parts tax too

    Lowering Gtr

kymbo did you end up putting the swifts on?
  9. yeh the JDMs have the full audio/vid package for the Aus spec, they dumbed it down with the analog system, even reducing the screen resolution, so all 09's were unlucky there for 2010 build onwards, they got the newer digital system with improved screen res im sure our resident tech guru will correct me here if im wrong
  10. it's been done already there is already a satin/matt black GTR wrap in Aus, in Melb iirc and nothing gayer than being the second guy to matt wrap a GTR unless you choose a different colour ive yet to see an aftermarket matt paint job (there are a few oem's doing matt paint now) - reason being they are not daily driver friendly. A bird bomb will ruin the paint, even rain water causes hard water stains that cannot be removed. Not only is the vinyl wrap less porous than matt paint, if you do get some staining, you can replace that single panel its around 5k depending on the vehicle for these wraps these days. They do cut alot of it on the car as it's all 100% custom, so be prepared for blade lines around window trim etc when/if you remove it - just like the hack clear bra guys used to leave before they started using pre-cut templates. When removing, all you'd need to do is give the car a good detail, some prepsol or IPA to remove the left over adhesive, and a quick buff to remove any marring from sliding the film over the panels during installation
  11. yeh no issues here running larger and wider sizes, in fact the car feels even more planted and comfortable on the road though i played it safe, and went same size increase all around - so that's 1" wider and 1" taller than stock i put new oem sensors in my new wheels and the dealer cant get them to pair up. Last resort will be either to buy them from an Aussie dealer and cross my fingers they work, or pull apart my stock wheels and take the sensors out of those - a job for when i cbf, atm im just ignoring the light on the dash
  12. hahaha now the sig makes sense
  13. yeh you can only rip non-mp3's to the hard-drive, you'll have to make regular discs from your mp3s and then rip them - nero will do the conversion i have never tried an mp3 disc yet, i always just stream off my iphone as you know, i now have dvd in motion working - did you check if you can play dvd's?
  14. im running yoki advans on my car in 21" and along with the new wheels saved some weight - most of which was in the tyre as those runflats do weigh alot more than a non run flat i bought them direct from yokohama japan and did have to wait a good 3 months for them to be manufactured, but landed at 2k im not complaining i started at 32psi but the car moved around a little under hard acceleration, felt a bit soft on initial compression over bumps, like i was driving in comfort when i was really in normal mode. In isolation this probably feels normal, but having gotten used to the super stiff sidewalls of the oem run flats, i could feel it immediately ive now got 38psi and it does feel alot better and more solid under power - ill be putting nitrogen in on fri at the dealer and pairing up the new tyre sensors (i didnt want to break up my oem wheels and tyres) it definitely is a smoother ride, you notice the softer sidewalls mostly when running over road reflectors and that split second of inital compression when hitting a speed bump. Road noise is slight less as well, though ive dynomated the rear so on other cars the noise reduction may be even more noticeable as for grip, i cant comment, my stock tyres only have 9000 kms and i havent gone for a decent run yet with the yokis. The car chirps bw 1st and 2nd quite easily now, that could either be less grip or lighter wheels or both re buying tyres, yep +1 on tirerack, even after duties etc there is still enough saving to be worthwhile
  15. fair enough ive already got the rsw inner shifter piece, and having the gauge surround wrapped in cf now too - ive basically replicated the wald interior undecided whether the ac piece will be overkill, but for 300 odd bucks its worth a shot good luck with the sale can definitely vouch for the quality of the rsw parts
  16. thanks for the offer Chris a member put me on to charles trent in the UK who have a full RHD dash they're breaking up, so i have the part on the way to me now
  17. if you're not getting any bites and want to part out the kit, ill take the A/C panel i sent an email off to rsw yesterday to purchase it
  18. must be tiring being a one man crusader for the r35 vein, having to read through all those threads and then come up with some cool whitty post but you might want to question why similarly r35 owners arent posting your hater dribble in r32/33/34 sections of the forum
  19. hahaha good to see the search function works well over here but maybe you should keep out of the r35 section then if you cant deal with the content/owners
  20. empire, can you provide me with some pics of your work
  21. you shouldn't mistake questioning someone's opinion with arrogance when it reads like the same ill informed hater rhetoric that's been reiterated all over the interweb by prepubescent teenagers with no real life experience whether i own one or not, i do know that you dont need to service it everytime you reverse it out the garage, and have no desire in my late 20s to turn vdc off to rip full hektik burnouts on the street so apart from lc which i can use, do let me know what "items" i cant use without voiding warranty?
  22. thanks mate will do just trying to source that guage surround trim from a wrecker atm
  23. that is very impressive guys were those 430's the michelotto race prep cars?
  24. the vn is getting way too much praise imo why has everyone forgotten the lexcen, afterall its the same brilliant corner carving chassis, and you're more likely to find a much less abused example in adelaide, cheaper to boot
  25. umm you do realise nissan was using computerised all wheel drive, all wheel steering etc on the R32 GTR around 4 years even before your r33 went into production getting back on topic, the op is right in that aftermarket parts are unnecessarily expensive for the R35 - 1K for JDM sways? I paid half that for the same brand on my 350 years ago. And i dont buy into that, just because its a more expensive car to buy initially, the parts must therefore be more expensive. Thats dealer bs, like porsche/bmw charging me 1k for an oil change, when as far as i can tell, all oil drain plugs unscrew the same
