  1. I've got a 32 D2 kit on my S1.....never had an issue with em. Bob that replacement sounds expensive, have you tried a couple of places? In any case, at least you only have to replace the rings and not whole discs including centres
  2. Up at Mt Cotton, right? I'm not ready this year which is a shame because I'd like to give the place a go.
  3. +1 I use Jesse all the time. Cheap, reliable, excellent/quick communication
  4. yeah good on the emo driver for stopping, I can't believe others didn't. And no marshal got there in the 50sec shown on the video....not good if your car is on fire and you can't get out. Hope the driver is OK, that was a big one.
  5. Got a pic of your new setup today Craig.....looks unique I really don't have much to add for mine....I've had it for 7 years and the only mod you can see is the 34 gtr wheels and d2 brakes. Lots of other stuff on the inside tho.
  6. Great result, well done. No weekend ever goes smoothly, and it's the quality of the supporting team that get you through. Sounds like you had a good bunch there.
  7. Grrrr I give up getting it going on Win7/Virtual PC. I'm going to try and get an old laptop working again on XP, if not off to the markets on sunday to pick up a cheapy.
  8. Good luck Mik, I reckon you will find the tight stuff more fun with the diff in it.
  9. Love it What is in the small additional screen below the air bag light?
  10. lol I need new glasses. still...had to look too far down the list to find the good guys
  11. Ahh well no skylines in the top 15....I guess Evos are still the car to spend money on. I hope all the SAU-ers had a trouble free run
  12. just leave the engine running (out of gear) if you want to bleed it continuously. Just make sure you keep topping it up. Also there are 2 bleeders; rear of the gearbox and above the rear driveshaft near the diff
  13. a clubman can be a great choice....but don't forget most of them have about the same power as a pulsar. If you don't want an mx-5, you won't want a clubman for the same reason
  14. ahhh I've been a bit slack updating this lately! zero additional mods, the rims have been slow arriving and the secret squirrel change may not be possible which is a damn shame. The car is driven daily and needs a charge every 2-3 days. I have a logger on the power circuit and this is what it is costing, average of $0.52 per day. Also, the Leaf came first and second (Kel and I) in the June SAU motorkhana, so it is no slouch: http://saunsw.com.au/texikhana-10th-june-2013-times/
  15. absolutely. and that helmet report explains why here is the CAMS rules, section 3.1 http://docs.cams.com.au/Manual/GeneralRequirements/GQ05_Schedule_D.pdf
  16. This looks like a cool tool. http://www.transquip.com.au/products/WORKQUIP-X1-DIGITAL-TRADE-CORDLESS-NUT-INSERT-TOOL-14.4V.html Anyone used one or similar
  17. update from the organisers last week. Looks to me like they are a long way off their first track day but I'm happy to be patient. Dear Crowdfunding Supporters and Sponsors, On behalf of the CASAR Park team our sincere thanks for your show of support. Whilst the crowdfunding campaign is now finished, we continue with our other fundraising activities – engaging with Clubs and Sponsors and seeking grant funds. To date we have raised $42,070, plus Wyong Shire Council have further minuted in their 25th September meeting to sponsor us for $5,000 in addition to the other assistance offered as part of their initial support. Opportunities for introductions to Clubs and potential Sponsors continue to flow, and we will work diligently to meet with them all and secure their support. Should such an opportunity present itself to you, please be sure to pass on the details. Our next update will be before the end of the month – look forward to talking again soon. With thanks, Brad Wilson Co-Founder CASAR Park
  18. only one thing to keep in mind; if you might be getting serious in the future and want a HANS device, you might want to consider the HANS posts when you buy the helmet....they can be expensive or impossible to add later. personally I use a cheapy motorcycle helmet, whatever fits comfortably. Also get a decent helmet bag and use it, scruitineers will knock back helmets with surface damage, even if it was only a scratch while rolling around in the boot. BTW that article is very interesting and worth the read....it's not fully relevant to race car use but had interesting conclusions
  19. I used paving/concrete paint from bunnings, and it is starting to wear after only 12 months of weekend use. So depending on price of the epoxy stuff I would go that instead. It still looks good overall and seals oil/water properly but I don't think its going to last as long as I'd like. Most workshops that use paint redo it every year. Also it's important to acid etch the floor first or it will flake off early.
  20. if you aren't going to relocate the filter pick up a stagea oil filter block, it has a bit of an angle on it that makes it easier to get the filter on and off. if you are just fitting up a relocator it doesn't matter, just grab a 20 or 30 one.
  21. in fact, here's an old pic
  22. Mine is a strap bolted to the end of the chassis rail where the reo bolts on....has always worked OK. It comes out through a small slit in the front bar. I prefer the strap to a solid hook going forward for both my car's sake and whatever I am tapping on. But as warps said that setup wasn't sufficient for mark's rally car....it got about halfway back out of the gully when the strap snapped....4 more rolls on top of the original 7. But I guess you are never going to reuse a shell after the first few rolls anyway
  23. well that sucks. I reckon it would take a decent hit to bend that. My guess is it had something heavy on it or dropped during transit. Unless you can see a crack on the diff housing I would not worry about any other damage other than the easily replaced halfshaft. Just count the splines on the half shaft, they do vary. Or maybe award can send you one as a goodwill gesture.....
  24. Roy I am pretty sure gardner put it in the wall at forrest elbow. coke is shit.
