  1. OK, more good news for this evening. The topics to be covered include: • The basics – Learn the tyre “lingo” and find out what the markings on your tyres mean in plain English. • Construction – Find out what’s on the inside of your tyres and how they are built. • Treads – Compounds and designs – how they affect the way a tyre grips and responds. • Tyre maintenance – Some tips you might know and some you probably don’t about getting the most from your tyres. As well as feeding us, NTW have organised lucky door prizes and a tour of the 50,000 tyre warehouse. Also, attendees can enter the competition to have your car included in the upcoming Federal Tyre catalogue
  2. OK everyone, there are about 7 spots left, and we need to cut off entries at 5pm tomorrow.....so get in now!

  8. they are also illegal in CAMS circuit racing (not 100% sure about CAMS rally)....no in cabin suspension adjustment is allowed (except sway bars in some categories like supercars)
  9. hmm time for a name change..... btw if I was looking for capacity I would be using the pathfinder 4l bottom end. I drove a 350z with that motor a few weeks ago and it was excellent
  10. sneak off early the presentation starts at 7pm, bad luck if I've eaten all the free food by then
  11. I've got the auto cupholders in a manual and I never actually hit them. Close sometimes.
  12. Oh yeah....me in too....
  13. Many of you have ticked the box on the membership form over the years…..so here comes the first in a series of Tech Nights! Provided by: National Tyre Wholesalers (Federal Tyres) Topic: Tyre Basics Date: Friday 23rd September Time: 6pm until 9pm Location: 75 Long Street, Smithfield NSW 2164 Agenda: 6:00pm – Members arrive for finger food and drinks 6:45 – 7:00pm – Members are seated and ready for presentation 7:00 – 7:45/8:00pm – Tyres 101 training presentation including questions and prizes 8:00pm – 9:00pm – After presentation members are free to leave or stay for further questions and discussions There are a series of these nights coming provided by our sponsors, so we have decided to cover the most fundamental item first – they are round, black and smokey, and we bet you have spent a fair bit on them over the years. But how do they work, what happens to them when you drive, and what should you look for when buying? These nights are provided by our club partners for club members only; you are however welcome to join the club on the night. It’s important to remember that while NTW are hosting the night, this is a technical discussion about tyres not a sales presentation.....so come along and learn about one of the most basic but important things on your car.
  14. Well, this is on 2 weeks away, and there are 11 spots left. If you have been holding off entering.....don't leave it too long!
  15. Just checked it then Charles....worked OK
  16. Yes, it will be run to the same format as normal for SAU track days: * 5 groups, each group has 1 session per hour * 8 cars per group so that there is plenty of space * groups split by expected lap time and experience - no wife's mx5 and a race car turning up at the same corner together * Any untimed session will allow passengers/instructors. You can still run timing in your car if you wish. * Club and other instructors will be available on the day We will survey the paid entrants shortly before the day to work out how many, if any, of the 5 sessions will be timed. Track days are a big financial commitment for the club, and this may be a difficult time of year. The best thing our members can do to make sure we can keep running track days is to enter, and enter early We need to fill about 35 places to break even on these days due to the big increases in track hire costs since Oran Park went.
  17. lol, why do all stagea owners have another car? or is it that lots of car owners have a stagea as a second, practical car?
