  1. It wasn't for the 35 odd people that came along tonight NTW are OK for us to share the presentaton with NSW members that couldn't make it, I'll ask if they have branches in other states for the other clubs. Next one is in about 4 weeks at Wholesale suspension in Penrith

  3. this thread delivers.
  4. no that doesn't matter really....gearbox and clutch have to match (either push or pull) but either will bolt to the motor. 32 gtr is push 33 gtr is pull
  5. RS4S is 2wd, right? I am pretty sure it will bolt straight in. If not, the only mod would be to the tailshaft yoke. I run a 32 gtr box in my rs4
  6. Interstate club members are welcome to come by too....
  7. hahah you said blow! anyone want a z24 bottom end? I've got one freeing up in the next few weeks.
  8. Other than the obvious stuff you will notice, be careful with the end of the crankshaft. The manual spigot bush is different to the auto whatever itis.
  9. lol true story. The amazing thing was how far off the road it happened. Once again proving that stopped cars off the road are magnets to other cars. Seriously though....the cars is what it is. If it aligns up correctly, drives well and has no badly repaired damage/rust etc then it is all good. Pretty much every car that has run targa has left the road, some big, some small, some through a whole potato field and 2 fences (lucky the potatos did not get out really). Mine has had 3 reasonable offs and drives beautifully, Greg's car was rolled 3 times at surfer's paradise and you can't see a single scratch on the roof anymore, plenty of evos have been pulled out of the top of trees where they were stuck like xmas decorations etc etc
  10. Exactly....park next to all the skylines, walk over to the group of people and say "Hi everyone, I'm Albert". You will then get a group hug as your initiation.
  11. Cams schedule B section 15 says" if fitted with any crankcase breather discharging to the atmosphere, each breather be vented into a catch tank of minimum capacity of two litres for engines up to 2000cc or three litres for over 2000cc. Regulations for competitions on unsealed surfaces may waive this requirement; That is a fair guide to start with. I'm not sure why it is based on engine capacity not oil capacity but meh!
  12. lol that is the same way I judge oil changes on the navara....the only car I've had in the last 5 years that *hasn't* needed a bottom end rebuild....
  13. Not for me. It is SA, WA, Tas or NT's turn to run the national supersprint....this NSW>Vic>Qld bullshit is not a national championship. To me it looks like the usual overpriced $$$ per minute supersprint from our friends at ARDC. Not to mention that "national" rules still don't exist for this "national" championship. 3 years, 3 sets of rules, and the NSW ones are very anti-turbo.
  14. I have one of these keys for sale, bought it from Bangahh a few months back but couldn't get it to work on the cube (looked the same...bad guess)! still uncut, and comes with a brand new battery
  15. what, no travellers recently? I've only been to Auckland since, it's not the same
  16. Agreed....I also think it is just looking for a TPS input. My guess is it is likely the rb25 and rb26 TPS send an equivalent range around 0.5-4.5v so just try hooking it up directly.
  17. yep exactly the sort of deal I mean. $2500 + say $2k for a cage....lots of car and potential for the money
  18. hahaha your memory is way too good.....but let's face it, you've got to shoot for the stars, even if you only make it to the moon, at least you got somewhere Those projects are all still live but behind the house....
  19. oh man I am being stitched up good tonight! Seriously though, intro to racing night with a couple of sample cars to pore over, and a quick overview of different categories and realistic budgets would make good night.
  20. dammit! that's far enough off topic, I don't want anyone to bring up running out of fuel. twice.
  21. lol...you mess up one aborted start and no-one ever lets you forget!
  22. Hey everyone is friendly at the race track Unless you finish in front of me....then its on, f**ker
  23. But "affordable" is very relative when you are talking about door to door racing. It's brilliant fun but like most things in life that makes it very expensive. Club racing (non CAMS) will probably cost $5-20k for the car + $500-1000 per round in tyres, fuel, travel etc. CAMS state racing $20-50k for a good car (or 200k+ in sports sedans) +1000-5000 per round (depends how many sets of brand new tyres you can afford per race). I run at this level National race series $50-$200k to buy a car, and say 20-50k a year to run considering travel, crew, tyres/brakes/oil/fuel, maintenance and repairs. Supercars, Porsche cup or Superlap $200-500k for the car and 100k+ per year to run. Tarmac rallies 50-500k for a competitive car + 20-100k for a full year (3-4 rallies). So...I guess the main thing is to be realistic about where you can fit in. If it is under the club racing budget stick to track days and enjoy them....if you can't afford track days enjoy motorkhanas at $50 a pop.
  24. now if only someone would post that in this thread! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/376825-wanna-learn-car-stuff/
