  1. C34 (except 2wd) has the same seat bolts as R32, R33, R34 4wd, so it should bolt in. I guess it depends if there is space where the bracket sits, but probably OK
  2. Yes, it is critical to know whether the leak is brake fluid or not before you drive the car again. If you sit in the car and pump and then hold the brake pedal, does it slowly sink to the floor? If so you have a brake fluid leak somewhere that you need to sort out before using the car again. And if you aren't sure, get a mechanic to check it.
  3. No, hugs are for Noobs only, you are an old timer now
  4. Brian everyone else in this thread was joking nasty. I'm pretty sure that award can be safely presented before the event.
  5. Tenga eggs? Another award: * The Pete Carruthers Golden BBQ award - for the best skids in the spectator areas
  6. totally unfair. that was cold tyre's fault. speaking which: * Cold Tyres award - for the most avoidable crash. Also known as the "No-one told me to pump the brakes after a pad change award sponsored by David Besnard" Chris, good idea entering under a psuedonym.
  7. You are an ideas guy Chris. Shame you can't enter the event, you have done races and as such have too much credability to compete
  8. see, more top shelf ideas! Louis Hamilton is in with a big chance for the Brett Middleton award.
  9. Nasty. but at least I will be in the running for something. The only other thing I've ever won is a CAMS national championship Oh here's another wierd idea, not sure how to fit it in. Imagine if women could drive cars on the track instead of walking around the pits wearing SFA? Doobs....this is early days. Lots of good ideas to come yet
  10. And while you are at it, ban coilovers to make sure the competition is fair. I cannot beleive how many people put in coilovers for the "competing" event
  11. Oh and the: * Turbo Landcruiser award - for the most innapropriately modified race car. I reckon your 4WD R31 is a shoe in for this.
  12. You know, this idea really has legs. I think you should run with it. (Oh man I am funny). Instead of classes based on tyre compound, I think you should base them on number of posts in the thread. Just think of the top line posters who will be fighting out the champonship. And then, apart from the regular classes, come up with some "special" trophies like: * John Boston award - to the driver who enters the most cars * Golden engine bay - to the workshop that spends the most per second. Not eligible for actual winners * Brett Middleton award - to the driver who hits someone else hardest I'm sure there are lots more ideas
  13. good work Pete, this will be a winner. Be sure to set up WANKR P/L so no-one can steal your awesome idea. When you say it is a "Lofty" title, is Dave the only person who can win it, or are other people eligible?
  14. without getting too far ahead....w34 stagea really benefits from sway bars front and rear - Daleo was running a group buy, it's the best 400 you can spend on making a stagea handle. I'll bring mine out tomorrow maybe they can throw it up on a hoist.
  15. firstly, I am pretty sure the unit pulses the negative not the power to activate the solenoid. make sure there is no break in the wires from unit to the solenoid, they are very small and easily pinched if you don't route them properly. If you can run it on a dyno back probe the earth when target boost is reached and you should see it pulsing The vr3 thingy is ulikely to be an issue unless the unit never worked, probably just a change in manufacturing over time. personally i ditched my profec bs because I got sick of them failing in hard use (race/rally), I run the turbosmart now, similar unit but much better made.
  16. good point....I might try M7/M4 from the city.... I don't want to be late and miss my chance to use the word "bush" in a sentence without being hit for it.
  17. See ya'll then....I'm leaving town at 4, fingers crossed that will get me to the riff in time!
  18. I meant to add, the only problem I've ever had running in a motor was in the early days when the rings did not bed in well (compression was pretty poor after 1000klm). Turned out the bores had glazed due to overfueling early on (efi cars run richer when cold). The engine guy spent a few hours on the dyno absolutely smashing it at full load and no boost and it came up good. Which was lucky because the other option was to pull the motor right down and hone it again
  19. yeah my builder too for that matter, he wants 1500klm on it before oil change and full boost tune. but frankly I've done a heap of motors over the years, always run them in hard, and never had a problem with bearings or rings bedding in. I think the workshops want to minimise risk and get a lot of klm on board, particularly to turn up any short term/bedding in issues.
  20. don't do it! run in the engine the same way you intend to use it. with modern clearances you should run in a motor hard over the first 200-500klm. By then it is well and truely done. In particular, don't allow it to idle. Once it is warm load it up hard. Little boost but as much load as you can do (long up hills). Vary the load point. Low boost so it's not over the top
  21. hmmm....all motorsport is dangerous. it says so on the disclaimer for every event I enter
  22. Very sad to see this, it was a very fast crash at a very fast track - Dan was right up the back and had nowhere to go.
  23. meh are you there to be the 1 car that wins or one of the 40 cars that has a great day's fun? If you want to win take a mini special.
  24. coupe conversion kit?
  25. where'd ya get that ratio, 34 gtr? I was thinking the same thing today..... btw hills have a 4wd dyno. what computer?
