  1. good to see the entries coming in....we need to fill this so we can keep running these types of events. It is almost impossible to book Wakefield, and Eastern Creek want $20k a day (so, we would have to charge about $500 per entrant). Places like MDTC can give us a cheap way to scratch the track itch Scott, we will find out and confirm. If you are looking at doing a few track days there are IR based lap timers like AIM that mean you can get times at any event.
  2. reducing tyres would be great news, it makes sense all around cheaper to run safer due to slower/harder compounds
  3. fwiw, this is the fast diagram for r32 gtr power steering. but it includes HICAS and is hard to follow here is a slightly better one from the workshop manual
  4. by far the easiest thing to do is buy a HICAS lock bar (dirt cheap these days) and remove the solenoids, lines etc. Then just use rb25 pump and r32 resoviour. I feed from the bottom of the resoviour to the pump inlet, then 1 line from pump to rack, and 1 line returning from pump to resoviour
  5. Richard sounds like a good choice, and the amount seems reasonsible for retail.
  6. yeah fingers crossed too....I guess any mainstream coverage of motorsport (from whatever angle) is a good thing....it was just a bit cringeworthy. And I have to get my dose of reality from TV.....I'm pretty sure I work in disneyland.
  7. I don't know, it looks kinda boxy in that pic
  8. If you have a VIN for the car the motor came in, I can get the right part. Otherwise, from my stagea's rb25det vin it would be 11150-75T00. Mine was about 6 weeks out of japan. Can't remember what it cost.
  9. oh man it was bad to watch, especially with the core concept that the Kelly's have done it hard on their way to the top. my favourite thing (reality tv) has just collided with my least favourite thing (racing). what a nasty crash
  10. thank god, after last week
  11. Hang on, you don't need a compliance plate on the car, if it was brought in under the 15 year rule it was not complied and therefore does not need a compliance plate. It also would not have a compliance plate if it is a personal import Have you talked to the RTA? Also talk to DOTARS and get a copy of the import approval, that will help convince whoever has to rego it. I would say though, it is very possible it will require a blueslip. It should not require an engineer's report. Finally, have a talk to someone like Todd at Japlink and see what they suggest.
  12. good to see some real competition between the cars this time, F1 is getting dangerously close to being entertaining! I saw a lot of Ricciardo on the screen as well which was great.
  13. See ya'll at 10 in Penriff....bring a jacket
  14. Saw it and approved it this morning....knock yourself out
  15. I don't really agree with that. It's better to have the right, cheap tool to use, than the wrong, expensive tool because you can't afford the right one. Other than the basic sockets and spanners, which are wroth buying good ones to save your knuckles if they break
  16. my thoughts....these days you can get as good or better tyres from the less known brands much cheaper. Personally I run the 595SS Federals (and haven't found them noisey), I'd also look at falken fk452. Or generally, the top tyre in the range from any of the cheaper brands, they are a very good price/performance compromise because they can't change the top brand premium.
  17. hq racing is some of the best around. It's jsut a shame there are no straight replacement panels for hqs any more, they are going easy these days. And like I said, any car is quick enough to kill....we took a pulsar off the clock in the NT
  18. I bought my rb26 replacement through nissan parts
  19. does the car idle OK, or is there lots of black smoke. 9 times out of 10 this sort of problem is caused by a major boost leak. Unfortunately the other time out of 10 it is caused by loosing the compressor wheel off your turbo Do you know what the maximum boost it hit was?
  20. good to hear the log book is sorted
  21. Also, as asked earlier....is it making the expected power for 20o at 8o? This is another clue the base timing is out.
  22. why not check the cool tools thread
