  1. Scott....bring the car up and sleep in the boot...easy it would be good to see some stageas out there instead of just the coles carpark...and on the net.
  2. Yeah that was a fail for me. The car does not unlock at step 3. To be fair, it is a Cube not an M35. The remote is definately the same (same part#s on circuit board) but the programming method must be different.
  3. yeah either find or make a lip to bash on. shouldn't need too much force it's a little bolt. There is no washer under the bolt head, actually I think they designed it to be captive but it isn't quite held. the bolt head side on the driveshaft is pretty tight on the head.
  4. ouch. can you get a chisel onto the nut to turn it? remember to lock up the other side of the bolt when you do. dremel can always cut the bolt if needed. I've found those bolts to be a problem before too...they often come pre-fcuked from earlier owners.
  5. bloody hell....good committment to head from Perth to Darwin for a race....was it your first time on the track? well done keeping up with the big bangers with such a long straight on the track
  6. yeah kelpie wasn't happy about having to move for the pic either. It is lighter, better laid out and stronger than the old dash...win/win/win
  7. Hey Neil, how is your dash fitment going? You need a centre console like this, a mate put it together for me.
  8. I reckon you might be right.....Nissan have made some pretty impressive cars, but the 260rs was a brilliant combination of speed and space
  9. Award gearbox and diff in Seven Hills are excellent, and reasonably priced. They have done heaps of RB boxes. But before you reco the box, try using redline lightweight shockproof oil. It is pretty good at masking synchro problems. Or just go granny shifting
  10. Shouldn't be a problem. CAMS require you to follow Schedules A, B and F as a minimum for all events. From there you only have to worry about any specific regs for the category you are running in. Most race cars don't have lights, although almost all touring cars do
  11. Sure did.... They really need to run it up on a dyno, the timing that 98 can take vs 91 will make it immediately obvious. I got a bad batch of fuel that almost destroyed a brand new motor...and Shell stonewalled me. Their "investigation" found no issue. And as I didn't suffer financial loss, Fair Trading had no interest
  12. You should be able to use the factory location for the side straps on each side. The shoulder straps on the other hand won't meet CAMS requirements if you use the rear seatbelt mounts, it is too far down. The safest place to mount them is at parcel shelf height, but the parcel shelf itself is not srong enough. Best idea is to buy or make a "harness bar" if you don't have a rollcage.
  13. that gearbox/transfer case and mounting looks the same as r series. which means you are damaging your transfer case clutches running in RWD only. Plenty of people have done the "seems ok I'll drive like this for a while" thing. the clutch packs have preload, and they will be slipping and wearing like bastards with the attessa pump off. dropping the front driveshaft is fine though.
  14. It's over here too...http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/368540-kumho-lap-battle-championship-prizes/
  15. Good to see some SAUers taking the lucky door prizes Mark, you forgot to mention....kumho tyres are awesome too I have been running V70A from John at F-sport for a while, and they are a good tyre with consistent performance all the way down in wear.
  16. lol cam. only 1. how quaint. What is the plan for the starter motor Matt....stuffed if I can see how it will fit?
  17. If necessary, the committee will review the event if we get close to the day and the club stands to loose significant money. The minimum hire charged by WSID is $8000 and currently we have $4200 in entries. If we are forced to cancel all entrants will have their entries refunded. The best way to avoid this happening....is to enter and make sure we are not loosing our member's money on this event I think it is very unlikely we will be forced to cancel.
  18. yep, we will be providing the list of all entrants, their spectators, photographers and organisers in the week before the event; and yes there are still a fair few spots available. As we said above, entrant's spectators will get priority, then member spectators, then others.
  19. haha I only need motors! And it looks like yours absorbed a heap of pressure (+1 for big heavy cast iron blocks). without meaning to get too personal....won't 3rd party injury insurance cover everything that has happened to you? It's not like you could possibly be more innocent in this "incident"...
  20. Tonton, spectating is free because it is a private hire - but entrant's spectators will be given priority (it looks like our spectator allowance will be filled) Why not enter instead Thanks John....are you going to win one?
  21. Nice....they were keen to nail you for something. Do you know who complied the car? They should have provided a tyre placard, and can confirm that thesee cars came factory with battery in the boot
  22. Ouch...they didn't miss you, did they. On the bright side, looks the like fuel cap is re-useable.
  23. Well I am pretty out of the loop, like a lot of people I stopped following this in the last year due to random rule changes. But Scehdule F has been ignored for 3 years now so it's not new. Nor was A, B or C followed at the last "national" supersprint (or CAMS classes for that matter). I do know you are not alone in having an issue ignored, the last person I know who sent a written concern to the same committee is still waiting 12 months later. It seems CAMS and their commitees are once again demonstrating their ability to destroy an successful series. BTW Superlap also do not have the right to ignore schedule A, B and C as long as they run under a CAMS permit. They clearly start "All cars in competition must....". Superlap needs to run under a CAMS permit because they want international cars, and CAMS are the only certifier for race imports.
  24. BTW, to clarify, WSID set the terms and price for this hire. SAU:NSW will not make any money from this day, and it is difficult to fill due to the hire conditions. However....we are committed to making the day happen for all of the club members who have asked for it....so please support it! And more importantly....see if you can take home a "WSID booted me" trophy!
  25. Off topic stuff removed, this thread is for SAU:NSW drag day entries thanks.
