  1. really? how deep is the nitriding, and how much is ground off for oversize bearings?

Finally, I'd like to say a big thanks to all of the outgoing committee members, the club has been strong with your help, and is building to better things
  3. perfect. there are lots of tools in GTRs
  4. Don't worry about the grades, they were for brand new pistons in a brand new bore. If you are putting used pistons into a used block, the only way to do it is to hone the block, clean the pistons sure thoroughly, and then measure each in multiple places (especially the bore because it can become oval instead of round over time). Then drop the pistons in as the best match you can regardless of original grade. Even then, the clearances may still be too large, that is why people commonly bore out 0.5mm when rebuilding.
  5. lol cube looks square enough to be a wagon to me
  6. I can't help with finding a gtr oil cooler (perhaps try Steve at Just Jap), but I never re-use an oil cooler from a motor that had a bearing problem. Too many little spaces in oil coolers, and it's a very expensive gamble. I'd never buy or use a second hand cooler for the same reason.
  7. anyway, webber was never going to overtake that lap after drs didn't get him past...he needed one more lap to have another shot. horner went early with his team orders....should have shut up and not looked like a dickhead
  8. really? I'm out of touch again. did they change that rule mid-weekend?
  9. lol i was edge of the couch until I heard those illegal team orders
  10. so I was half right webber is 3rd, ricciardo is last on the track. DR has made up 6 spots though
  11. same story at RBR
  12. he definately pulled off. lost a wheel?
  13. I've got no idea what the front guys earn a year....but if i was Webber I'd hang on for as long as I possibly could. Totally different to schmumaker who had the results and the $$$, who should haev stayed retired.
  14. let me guess...his kers isn't working? wrong wing? diffuser is blown?
  15. you don't need a CAMS license for cruises (an RTA one is a good idea though ) feel free to join the club on the day though
  16. webber drops to 5th on the first lap, and fights his way back to 3rd on the podium. ricciardo drives well, makes up 6 spots and finishes his first GP
  17. yeah it's not a tricky job really...but if not confident get someone to do it for you. Either they can rebuild the one in your car, or they can swap it for a pre-rebuilt one. Not sure on an exact cost but it will be a couple of hundred dollars.
  18. yeah it will cost a couple of hundred including remove and refit. personally I'd recommend puting a reconditioned alternator in rather than just a second hand one.....you never know how long another second hand one will last before you need to replace it again.
  19. haha....surely not twice. good to hear it's running. try engine earth quality for the missfire if you re-used known good coils, ignitor and injector resistor
  20. it sounds like an alternator dead (or wiring issue) to me. you are only seeing 10v because the alternator is not working proberly or not working at all, so you are just getting the battery's voltage.
  21. best to talk to Brad (Risking), he builds them good, cheap and CAMS legal
  22. haha good work...been doing that one for years (the ute is also great for it). I understand the parking inspector's frustration, especially with all the 4wds getting around these days...but for once the rules go our way
  23. one a brake line nut is rounded off you are in trouble....you need to cut the pipe, replace the nut and re-flare the brake line...
  24. lol he's probably still got a better chance of winning than Webber!
  25. lol random thread intro. In any case....I was asked for final payment and a delivery address for mine this week.
