  1. And we can sort out your cams license on the day, just let us know early so we can get the paperwork done
  2. mighty boy!
  3. in that case it connects to the power steering rack...it is the only wiring on it.
  4. $400 doesn't buy you much carbon fibre. couldn't even buy a single coilover for that
  5. quality hotel look the goods. i hope the quality is "good" not "bad", they don't say
  6. I still think this is the most likely reason. Give the colling system a good flush and perhaps clean the radiator. Other than some crap in the radiator, are there any signs of a blown hg? loosing water? water in oil? loss of power /compression? zorst in the water? (already ruled out). Even if there is....if it is "midly blown" or "early", I would got straight for the chemiweld. Best case it fixes the problem for $10. Worst caase the motor is a bitch to clean for rebuilding....but as said above you would probably just start with a new one.
  7. good question....I haven't booked yet either! Locals....what is cheap, reasonable and preferably within stumbling distance of dinner? (or are you locals acting as designated drivers for the invaders )
  8. Also should mention....we are going to review gps/phone based lap timers at this day and do a writeup/comparison in an upcoming newsletter....stay tuned
  9. You two better be coming along
  10. Please organise a warm snap in the weather
  11. SAU:NSW has organised an invasion of the ACT on the weekend of 20-21 August. We have 3 events back to back: Beginner's track day at Marulan Driver Training Centre. Have you ever wondered how damn cold the world could be? And whether your turbo will enjoy it? Come along and find out
  12. BTW ironic thread title considering how things ended up...fingers crossed they last OK
  13. forklift = problem solved. go jacks under rears, forklift tines under front wheel, drag it out.
  14. the ps is a pressure switch I think (warning light?) it connects to the hard piping for power steering under the alternator.
  15. yes...sort of....you need to earth the fuel pump relay as the switch is out of the car. And earth the wire to the main relay because the killswitch is out too. maybe pushing is easier I'll organise to get the new console in in the next week or 2 sounds like good toys
  16. sweet....thanks for taking it mate. feel free to chuck it in too
  17. good to see the entries coming in....we need to fill this so we can keep running these types of events. It is almost impossible to book Wakefield, and Eastern Creek want $20k a day (so, we would have to charge about $500 per entrant). Places like MDTC can give us a cheap way to scratch the track itch Scott, we will find out and confirm. If you are looking at doing a few track days there are IR based lap timers like AIM that mean you can get times at any event.
  18. reducing tyres would be great news, it makes sense all around cheaper to run safer due to slower/harder compounds
  19. fwiw, this is the fast diagram for r32 gtr power steering. but it includes HICAS and is hard to follow here is a slightly better one from the workshop manual
  20. by far the easiest thing to do is buy a HICAS lock bar (dirt cheap these days) and remove the solenoids, lines etc. Then just use rb25 pump and r32 resoviour. I feed from the bottom of the resoviour to the pump inlet, then 1 line from pump to rack, and 1 line returning from pump to resoviour
  21. Richard sounds like a good choice, and the amount seems reasonsible for retail.
  22. yeah fingers crossed too....I guess any mainstream coverage of motorsport (from whatever angle) is a good thing....it was just a bit cringeworthy. And I have to get my dose of reality from TV.....I'm pretty sure I work in disneyland.
  23. I don't know, it looks kinda boxy in that pic
  24. If you have a VIN for the car the motor came in, I can get the right part. Otherwise, from my stagea's rb25det vin it would be 11150-75T00. Mine was about 6 weeks out of japan. Can't remember what it cost.
