  1. same story at RBR
  2. he definately pulled off. lost a wheel?
  3. I've got no idea what the front guys earn a year....but if i was Webber I'd hang on for as long as I possibly could. Totally different to schmumaker who had the results and the $$$, who should haev stayed retired.
  4. let me guess...his kers isn't working? wrong wing? diffuser is blown?
  5. you don't need a CAMS license for cruises (an RTA one is a good idea though ) feel free to join the club on the day though
  6. webber drops to 5th on the first lap, and fights his way back to 3rd on the podium. ricciardo drives well, makes up 6 spots and finishes his first GP
  7. yeah it's not a tricky job really...but if not confident get someone to do it for you. Either they can rebuild the one in your car, or they can swap it for a pre-rebuilt one. Not sure on an exact cost but it will be a couple of hundred dollars.
  8. yeah it will cost a couple of hundred including remove and refit. personally I'd recommend puting a reconditioned alternator in rather than just a second hand one.....you never know how long another second hand one will last before you need to replace it again.
  9. haha....surely not twice. good to hear it's running. try engine earth quality for the missfire if you re-used known good coils, ignitor and injector resistor
  10. it sounds like an alternator dead (or wiring issue) to me. you are only seeing 10v because the alternator is not working proberly or not working at all, so you are just getting the battery's voltage.
  11. best to talk to Brad (Risking), he builds them good, cheap and CAMS legal
  12. haha good work...been doing that one for years (the ute is also great for it). I understand the parking inspector's frustration, especially with all the 4wds getting around these days...but for once the rules go our way
  13. one a brake line nut is rounded off you are in trouble....you need to cut the pipe, replace the nut and re-flare the brake line...
  14. lol he's probably still got a better chance of winning than Webber!
  15. lol random thread intro. In any case....I was asked for final payment and a delivery address for mine this week.
  16. Sounds good...we'll be along to see if the Cube can make it up the hills
  17. Take it easy and you will be fine - stay away from long jumps through the air The top nuts just hold the shock from falling out at full droop...as long as there is load on the wheel gravity will keep it in place. When you get to repco or wherever, take off another one to check back - there are multiple "thread pitches" even in the same sized nut. If you get the wrong pitch it will go very tight after about a turn.
  18. haha probably! Was enjoying an empty Victoria road....I must drive it at 11pm instead of midnight more often
  19. Well I don't agree with the rules, as I've stated before...but the car in that spec is legal.
  20. Ron (and everyone!) we will discuss alternative dates at the exec meeting tomorrow night and come back to everyone ASAP.
  21. Agreed Bob, and the committee will take up our concerns about communication with WSID. Plenty of hard work from the comittee is wasted, and no doubt lots of competitors will have plans messed up to. No doubt some people are financially impacted by the late cancellation. Unfortunately we have 0 alternatives to deal with on Drag events. And track events aren't that different these days...there are 2 possibilities in NSW and Eastern Creek (also government owned and a "service" to NSW Taxpayers) was over $18k per day to hire. However, our club's members want these events, and we will keep working professionally with the venue operators to deliver them as best we can. We are also actively working on "alternative", non-traditional locations to run our motorkhanas, track days and sprints because of the difficulties in booking and dealing with venues.
  22. hahah you obviously know pete! Steve has always been very helpful, he gave Mark and I heaps of advice when we were first building our cars about 7 years ago. It's definately a passion not a business for him, and he also supports pretty much every person running a skyline in targa with advice/cheap parts/support at the rally etc. Great bloke. And Kel is Kel. Navigator extroadinaire....but she has bitches to prepare cars for her
  23. haha depends if you want good advice or not. Steve at Just Jap has always been super helpful, and is across the regs as they keep changing. Pete (Fatz) is in the lower blue mountains as well, but his car hasn't turned a wheel yet. I can help where possible (although it's been a few years), and Kel does pretty much every rally (tarmac and gravel)
  24. Well, it seems you guys were getting better communication than the organisers. We received the following email this afternoon from WSID: --------------------------------------------- Duncan, I regret to advise that we are forced to postpone your track hire scheduled for this Saturday, July 9, 2011. I sincerely apologise for this late notice. Despite our optimism and the best efforts of all involved, who are still working now, the track surface works remain behind schedule with final profiling yet to be completed. I also offer a sincere personal apology for the inconvenience and disappointment this will no doubt cause your club members – and of course yourself and other organisers that have worked hard to put everything in place. Eventually, despite understandable frustration, I hope you will all agree that it would not be acceptable, nor appropriate, to proceed before we can confidently offer the best possible conditions. Duncan, I can only offer my genuine apology and trust that you and your members will accept that the decision is in the best interests of everyone concerned. I will await your instruction and once again offer this apology on behalf of the venue. Kind Regards, John Henman Administration and Operations Manager SYDNEY DRAGWAY ------------------------------- We are disappointed that at no time did WSID suggest this event may not be possible, and that we had no warning until this afternoon of the cancellation. However, we will organise this event for the first available date WSID offer us. In the meantime, anyone who does not want to carry their entry across to the new date, please let Aggroman know. Good news for those that needed more time to get their cars ready
