  1. my 7 before selling up to the gtr.
  2. Hmmmmmm. Anyone have any contacts for a group sau buy?
  3. There has been a huge increase in the use of Dash Cams in the past year in Oz. Who on SAU is using one? Thinking of buying 2 for myself. 1 for the daily and 1 for the gtr. And......... discuss....................
  4. Are you referring to the 2 x 14mm bolts on top of the camber plate? They are similar to wheel stud bolts with a flat base.
  5. The critique I have of this hypothesis is that in the case of a "licensed" 3rd party mechanic who gave the car the all clear, you would not be able to pin this on the importer, regardless of true KM or not. A car is a consumable item, it has moving parts that wear out. It would be more likely the 'mechanic' would be charged under the grounds of professional negligence, not the importer.... That said, if it was the Importer's 'own' mechanic, different story :-)
  6. Similar story for mee too.. I daily an N16 pulsar and by Fri I'm itching to get in the GTR. Def makes you appreciate boost If you have 30K, do something similar, buy a nice 32/33 R and use the left over 8-10K on an early/mid 2000 hatchback for the shopping duties. **ps. you must have the funds to register and maintain 2 cars though**
  7. Def luck of the draw with these things. I bought 2x R34 N1 turbos second hand off Jesse Streeter through yahoo japan this year and they are in perfect condition :-)
  8. It's good to see someone who has done their homework!! From what you have said, best wait for the report from JOC and FC auto. That said, a few things seem sketchy, The fact that it was only complied 2 months ago, and a 'friend of a friend' (the seller) is essentially selling the vehicle on behalf of someone else. 29K on the clock, while not unheard of, is def very low milage, and I would expect an M spec with that milegae to sell a bit higher. Lets face it, there are 2009 R35's that already have 50K's + on the clock now.. Then again, could be a bargain and u might be a lucky buyer
  9. The problem is the story is only as good as the information provided. Whilst they did try to get to the heart of the problem, they didn't necessarily convey the message correctly. I would have liked to see them name and shame some of the other dealers along Parra Rd, as well as speak to more competent industry importers - Iron chef etc. But it's a start, and hopefully the dealers are now catching on to the fact that they can't hide anymore. That the Web has made everything transparent and social media can destroy a companies reputation in a matter of minutes.
  10. Just saw an ad on TV for Monday night. Saw a few Jap dereg and auction bits in the ACA piece. Will be interesting to watch
  11. The 35 is huuuuge compared to the 34.
  12. I wouldn't say 'exclusivity' as such. But Price yes. There is a huge difference between 45K to 95K. To be purchasing a 35 at approx 95k, you would have to be earning around 6 figures a year. Or, you have some capital behind you (property etc)
  13. Looking to buy R34 GTR coilovers. Must be comfortable for the street. Not fussed about brand names. prefer Syd but willing to look at postage too. looking to spend $1300-$1500 for good condition 2nd hand items
  14. Yes, using stock 34R dumps. Mods are: -7's, stock dumps with 60mm into 70mm front pipe, metal cat, apexi N1 exhaust. Apexi Power FC and HKS EVC 6 The workshops that have tuned mine are in Southern Sydney. Hint, Levinboy has seen my R in the same workshop he uses. But that's not who tuned it this time round. Would I be better off with dialing in cam gears on stock cams? My goal is for 300kw's. But 'street' responsive.
  15. hmmm, ok so taking all comments in this thread on board. I have -7's on stock RB26. Suprisingly the boost curve is quite laggy compared to stock (which is the opposite of what people say about -7's). Makes positive pressure below 3000, but I dont get full boost - 18psi until 4750-5000rpm ish. I was thinking Poncam 260 9.15mm lift to help bring on boost quicker and extract more torque early in the rev range. I am now tossing up between Type R 250 9.15 due to some of the comments above. Which makes more sense for my needs?
  16. Not sure, but I was never asked to provide ODO meter readings. There is no mention in the PDS about providing evidence of said KM's per year other than 9000km or less.
  17. Changed from Shannon's to NRMA today. Half the price of Shannon's !!!!!!!!!! only catch is you can't pay monthly, has to be an up front annual payment. And YES, mods are allowed in the policy no problem whatsoever.
  18. I LOVE LAMP!
  19. I've recently upgraded the 34R with N1 turbo's and a retune/ EBC. I've noticed the car rev's up so much quicker (i've purposely set the rpm limit to 7900) and I find myself on the limiter a bit more than i used to. I know that the power fc cuts fuel, not ign, and have noticed the car will knock on the controller (have seen 60/70ish knock) Apart from getting better at my reaction times when on boost and learning to drive..... Is there any way to combat det on the limiter? Retard timing? As it's a soft limiter, it still "bangs" on the limiter, but no flameage etc etc, Could the FC be picking up other noises associated with fuel cut?
  20. At first i thought it must be a troll or fake ad, but looking at the info i think the seller just has no idea. Mabee it's from a deceased estate or something?
  21. Errrr, so I was on carsales and found this R34 GTR Vspec. It's not a Nur/N1 or anything special. Thoughts?? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1999/SSE-AD-2948029/?Cr=4&sdmvc=1 Tell him he's dreamin!!
  22. With an asian fellow standing next to it
  23. MCM did a good video on how to - Shift light behind dash cluster
  24. Cool. I missed the sarcasm there Ben, sorry bout that :-) I won't name the workshops as it's not fair to them. Car is def running in tip top shape, but I was just quite surprised at the results.
