Care to elaborate. Good in what way mate... As i said in my original post, I am aware of dyno variances, and that dyno operators can change load etc to make a "happy" dyno. That said, as per RB26 dyno thread, with my mods, the majority of GTR owners achieve between 240-260 atw. For a dyno to throw 213kw is very low. I guess you're right. Track will separate the men from the boys ey.

Hi Sau. I am fully aware that different dyno's = different power output, and generally you will not get the same result twice, even on the same dyno and same conditions. My question is this. I had my 34R tuned (power FC, front pipe/metal cat/3.5 inch exhaust and boost restrictor removed) On this dyno, it netted me 263 atw on a 4 wheel dyno I am now getting Garret - 7 turbos, hks evc 5 and a retune at a different workshop. They have put the car on the dyno for the "Before tune" run, and this came up with only 213awkw on a 4 wheel dyno. I was expecting a variance of about 10-15kw give or take, but 50kw seems to be huge. Reading the RB26 dyno thread, the 263awkw power range for my mods seem to be in line with the average 34R owner. Is it more likely that the new workshop the car is at is a very low reading dyno? I guess I'll find out once i get the car back :-)

Help! Please! Rb25Det Running Lean Standard Ecu R33.
djvoodoo replied to budskin1's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Backfire + flames = unburnt fuel out exhaust = Rich I'd say you don't have a cat either for flameage Spluttering on boost - Plugs, coils, AFM, fuel pump..... Even better idea.... Go to a mchanic and check Air/fuel ratios. Will cost you < $150 What's the dealeo with the RB20 turbo? Any reason why you using on R33? -

From A 290Rwkw R34Gtt To An Evo 7-9
djvoodoo replied to rondofj's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I owned an R34 GTT, then went to an Evo 7 with 200awkw, and now to an r34 GTR. Evo shat all over the GTT in Cornering, comfort, low to mid range power/torque. Evo felt allot quicker due to 21psi vs 13psi. BUT, as someone who loves to drive, i got board with the Evo fairly quick. Just too clinical and seems to drive itself. The 4g63 motor doesn't sound as nice as an RB either Evo to 34 GTR. Different story altogether.... GTR FTW -
I'm trying not to stereotype, but apologies If anyone is offended. Newington is 15 mins from Auburn, Villawood det centre, Silverwater gaol etc etc. It is an affluent area and still is, but there are also some not nice parts too.

I'm running 265x35x18 on Enkei RPF1 - Same offset as above on S tune suspension (roughly 1 inch lowered all round) Does not rub anywhere, not even on full lock or in reverse. 265's look slightly stretched, next time I'll be going a 275 to fill out the gaurds a bit more. R34 GTR has plenty or room in those wheel arches!!!!!!

Wasn't directed at you at all. Just meant it in a non dscriptive sense.

Had my Gates racing belt put on 10,000km ago. Still whines slightly when warm. Belt was put on by a very well known garage in Sydney (lots of love for the workshop here on SAU too) Had many knowledgable mechanics say they are slightly noisier than normal belts (and trust them over joe blo in the interwebs)

Are These Turbos N1 Or Factory Units?
djvoodoo replied to livewire's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, exhaust wheel is ceramic, also the compressor hosuing on those turbos is A/R .53 & exhaust .48 Which is standard R34 GTR turbos. -7 will have either A/R .42 or .60 compressor housing, and exhaust housing of A/R .64 -
Nistune/power Fc Benefit On Very Minor Mods
djvoodoo replied to livewire's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, had to get it tuned. In practise, yes it is plug and play, I.E you can simply plug it in and drive away, BUT you would be stupid to boost it with the stock Power FC map... Apexi run some stupid high timing from default. -
Nistune/power Fc Benefit On Very Minor Mods
djvoodoo replied to livewire's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Def worth it for sure. I gained approx 50kw at the wheels after going from the stock R34 ECU to Power FC (now at 260AWKW give or take). Fuel consumption, meh about the same as stock, slightly better on cruise (about 13 L per 100km) -

Faq: Apexi Powerfc - Frequently Asked Questions
djvoodoo replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Most common will be knock.... May also flash due to injectors maxing out etc etc Is covered in full in the Apexi FAQ.... Many many topics on this. -
OP You can always use an importer an import one from Japan...... But for 35-40K, i'd only expect a high 3C grade car with high KM, and/or some blemishes. If lucky you might get away with a 4C grading. It can be done, but i'd save an extra 10K and buy something nicer. Have a look at all the threads on dodgy dealerships etc. Half of them buy C/R grade cars for less than 30K landed and sell them at 50K +

Boost Restrictor Removal Opinions R33 Gtr
djvoodoo replied to livewire's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
OP your avatar mentions you have an R34 GTR. For what it's worth. I have been running my 34R with original turbos (car has done 116,000km) at 1.1 bar (restrictor removed, full exhaust and Power FC) for the past year with no problems. I put 5L of oil in each service, and 5 L of oil comes out. No smoke, no loss of anything! Will be putting on -7 (34 N1's) next month, so will report back on the condition of the turbos once I get the car back -
R34 Nismo Sticker On Diff?

Possibility of rebirth in Japan and they copied the same VIN details in 2008?
-
As above. Looking for genuine N1 turbos. Must be R34 N1 items, not old journal bearing items
-
There also seems to be disparities between the 3 versions of N1 34R turbos as well. The last of the turbos AA403 use a .42 A/R compressor and .64 A/R exhaust. Wheras the Garrett -7 uses a .60 & .64 housing. So the Garrett - 7's have larger housing compared to original 34 N1's. It's all a bit confusing.
